I actually agree; it's not so much that I think she should've used Chase as much as she shouldn't've used that guy. 
 
Like ... as problematic as he is, I feel like someone like James Franco would make a lot more sense. He has the personality for something like this and they were rumoured to have been together at one point anyway, so using him would've been kinda tongue-in-cheek. Obviously, there's reasons why not, but the guy she used seems super random and I think the message would come across better with someone more well-known. 
 
Idk. She seems to love doing her friends and family favours by putting them in shit, and this seems a lot like that.

This is Lana we're talking about, not Florence Welch. That lyrics bible she sold a few years ago for $50 was a joke. It didn't have any lyrics for Paradise, UV or even Honeymoon, which was being released at the time. 
 
You can do it yourself. That's what I did. Get a nice Journal at Barnes and Noble or Michael's for $5.00. Go to your local public library and print the lyrics out on Microsoft Word. Public libraries let you print for free. If you want to paste pictures of Lana to go along with the lyrics, print that too. Then cut the lyrics and pictures and paste it onto the journal. Keep doing that for every album she makes. That's it.

Because I know I needed a drink this morning when I saw the monstrosity that is the cover of NFR. I thought the Honeymoon album cover was ugly. Shiiit. 
 
I'm just glad the album is coming out in a month. I already had a feeling that the album cover artwork was going to be horrible. At this point people need to stop blaming Chuck though. It's not Chuck that's the problem - it's Lana. I like the work Chuck has done for other artists. Whether it's music videos or photo shoots for other artists, Chuck does beautiful work. However her work with her history is awful and Lana is the one to blame for it. Lana's stubborn and hard headed and she probably gives Chuck hell when Chuck tries to add something or says "Ok. But can we try this sis?". It's obvious by now Chuck ain't the problem. 
 
Also she added 5 songs in the album we already heard. Did she really have to add to the album what she released months ago as well as Doin' Time? Best American Record? We all have that already too! That makes only 9 original songs! What a damn waste. Could have taken Doin Time or Best American Record out and added Roses Bloom for you or another original song.

I wholeheartedly agree. I get what she was going for, but I just don't like it. There is too much going on ... once again, trying too hard, I think. I love the idea of a boat, rather than a car, and I like the painted sky, but that's really it.
 
ETA: the text is my main complaint; with a different font/style I think it could be much, much better, but it's just crazy to me that those logos were ever OK'd by anyone with any fucking knowledge of design or typography ... what the fuck. I feel like I'm back in grade 4 again and using Word Art just for the fuck of it. 
 
Anyway, it's more about the music, so whatever.

The fact that ya'll trashed Honeymoon cover and LFL cover but are getting wet over this cover is...bizarre to say the least. Very questionable taste.
To me personally, it's just far too 'busy'. There's too much going on in one image. Less is more, as they say. I don't find it camp, satirical or whatever ya'll keep calling it. It's just a mess. 
But I have an alternative cover I'll be using on my iTunes so whatever, it doesn't matter now.
 
The reason I'm still here though is to finally hear Cinnamon Girl cause I know it's gonna slap! And I can't wait for IYC (or whatever the alt title is now). As for Bartender, I can't help but feel like it'll sound country-ish. It's just the vibe I get from the title alone but obviously we won't know until the 30th, but I'm glad Lana didn't scrap it because that would be a song we would all be wondering about for years. Kinda like Yosemite (RIP). Also I never really crave HIAB until very recently, I think the melody is just stuck in my head but I wonder how the sound will progress. 

The alternative is her insta comments, where everyone fawns over everything she does. It does not make riveting reading. Fuck that.
 
I don't agree with everyone here, and I know everyone doesn't agree with me, either, and that's what makes this site interesting.

I'm actually shocked at how god awful the cover is. (And surprised at all the positive reactions!) I really, really hate that there is some ugly dude on it. I like that she's trying new things, though! At this point I just want to hear the damn album so whatever @ the cover.

It does not match the music at all and that is a fact, not an opinion. Stare at it (if you dare) and think of the Cinnamon or HIAB snippets. Or VB. Or MAC. Or HTD. Or any fucking song on that tracklist. 
 
Maybe it suits the two we haven't heard, but that's it. 
 
If she was making music like Gwen Stefani's then it'd make sense, but this makes zero sense.
