While Halsey as a persona i dislike heavily (especially her character, it can be obnoxious) i can't deny i love the visuals and the themes and how she paints a picture and sticks to it- and she really does love her fans. also i went to her phx concert on Halloween and it was a fucking S H O W. She puts on incredible live performances and the background visuals were gorgeous and so appealing, i also loved how she played with her VIP members, allowing them to be the two houses and whoever cheered louder got their special song to be sung, ours was Hurricane

i 100% agree with you, i didn't mean to make it like her being repetitive was a bad thing, it's just that GKIT gets the most shit while UV songs go by unscatched; while she's good with repetition in general i think she's at her best when she keeps the melody and base lyrics but diverts details, Cherry, GKIT, and OttR are incredble examples of this- how she moves along a chorus or makes it transform over the course of a song is great, or even songs with many parts repeated n overlayed like Change. songs like BPBP where it didn't really do that always kinda fall flat as she knows how to structure a song with many repeated parts imoo

GKIT is under appreciated and everytime people say 'iTs JUst RepiTiIToION UUuUGHHh' somehow forget how samey and repetitive so many of UV's songs were..literally Sad Girl, while it is a bop, is the worst offender of most everything bad about UV however it's not the worst on the album

the verses and idea are so angelic, it's poetic as hell i just can't get into the melody or production..it just feels heavy and somehow empty, i love her slow songs and ballads (moreso than fan favorites on UV even) but BPBP is the first time i've ever related to a nonfan saying 'her music is slow' and this was so slow w no payoff what the fuck daddy

i work the graveyard shift of blowing up this thread this ain't new

i know we all love to rag on roachella but i feel like it belongs on the album, part of me is conflicted because of the messy production and kinda almost shallow lyrics but the intention and bridge are incredible, plus it really ties the whole thing together. It takes all the muddy trap beats from the first half and places the more acoustic and hollow production from the latter half and puts it in one song. I would love if it was acoustic but it wouldn't have the same effect, could y'all really imagine LFL going from In My Feelings or Groupie Love to GBA? didn't think so.
