This might be the first Marina album I’ll really like, I’ve only liked a handful of her older songs previously.

I’m just stopping by to say that I’m hyyyypeddddd, I was listening to Diet Mountain Dew today and if Lana and Mike made a song like that, piano with some fire beats over it, I’d be sooo happy! I can’t wait to hear Blue Banisters in full, I haven’t played the snippet since it was teased so it won’t get too stuck in my mind, but aaahhahhsnsjsn I wanna hear it soon, please please please this Friday so I can overplay it on my birthday.

Yeah, discussing possible collaborations is on topic, you guys are right. I just got the impression that most of the posts were “I want Lana to work with XX!” with little explanation why and little probability to it ever happening. Also, I went through the pages quite fast as I have other things to do as well, so if moved a post that should’ve stayed here, I apologize.

That being said, I'm really excited for this album, or this track if Lana and Mike have only collaborated for one song. I really hope they've enjoyed spending time together in the studio and created something magical. Can't wait for the single to drop, I hope it's next week like the rumor says.

Blue Banisters, dropping July 4th 2025!!

So, I'm just thinking as I'm having my lunch break... Lust For Life, the album, should never have been released. I don't say this because it's my least favorite album by Lana, but because I really think she had something going on with her initial idea. She described the album as "retro-futuristic", and you can hear some elements of that space-retro-yet-modern sound she looked for in some of the songs. I just think it's a shame she didn't work more on that concept, or maybe she just got stuck and couldn't work more on it. Anyway, I think we can hear that sound in the demo versions of LFL (although they didn't really go anywhere - I guess that's why they're left as demos), Love demo (just ignore the dramatic intro drums) and final version, 13 Beaches, Heroin, Get Free, Best American Record demo, Yosemite. I'm talking about that open-space sound, like the music is something larger and her voice is just... in that large, vast space. I think, if she had kept that concept and kept working on it, the album would've turned out a lot better. More cohesive, at least. No Cherry, no White Mustang (well, okay, it can stay although it's like her most boring song ever, the instrumental matches with that sound I described), no Daisy Chains Summer Bummer, no political tracks... It think it would've been another gem in her discography. Like another Honeymoon, a bit different and slow maybe but still good. Like... imagine this: 1. Lust For Life 2. (Young & in) Love 3. 13 Beaches 4. White Mustang 5. BAR 6. Yosemite 7. Heroin 8. Get Free Wouldn't that have been nice?
