i think i already said this but although it has qualities, i'm not a huge fan of the lmlylaw-cotcc kind of bridge, which doesn't bring any new melody or chord progression, although it does help build up an atmosphere i'd say white dress, not all who wander are lost, yosemite might have real bridges with a new melody other than that i think it'll be the same as in lmlylaw

I'd say Yosemite won't have a long outro despite its length, because there used not to be any on LFL. We know White Dress has an intro, it also might have an outro. Given the length of many other songs - under 4 minutes - I'd say there isn't that much potential for long intros, our outros. Maybe on Dance Till We Die, one of the longest, and also one with NFR-like instruments.

I agree to a certain extent. But I also feel like part of the dynamics goes the other way. She used to be shy during interviews, but her LDR persona used to be really impressive, talking about heavy topics, about having a tormented, glamorous life, about killing people, about sleeping with countless men, about doing hard drugs. Now she sings about doing the laundry. And the music videos followed that, and so did the production, at least on Born To Die - it was very dramatic, very glamorous, very polished, very heavy. Every time she would appear in public she would have elaborate makeup and elaborate hair etc. Now, she sings about things that are much more mundane, much more within reach for everyday people. This is also why she has lost her cinematic, theatrical touch. But it results in her having more, somehow, of a regular human being - and in her being more authentic, less calculating her image, in the end. I feel like her awkwardness has always been there and still is. There's also the fact that she's gotten fatter and older and that she appears without makeup all the time and that she posts whatever random stuff goes through her mind on instagram etc. Although she's much more settled now, and has this LA lifestyle, she has also gotten much simpler in a way, and I kinda like that - even if I miss what she used to have, at the same time. I also think her political opinions weren't necessarily better than what we've seen with qftc - she just didn't say them out loud back then. Also this really isn't against you but I sometimes get the feeling that just because we all agree LFL is her worst album, people always draw the line between pre-2016 and post-2016. But there actually is a lot of continuity between 2015 and 2017. As for her warmth and humility, which you talk about, I feel like she evidenced much more of those with LFL than with Honeymoon. LFL was literally her being positive all the time and saying how she loved the fans and having cinematic music videos and trailers too, and also trying to stop being self-absorbed and talk about the problems of the world, and having guests on her songs, and she also seemed really proud of her album, although we can agree its quality isn't that of Honeymoon, so that's not where I'd draw the line.

it's crazy what this woman brought to our lives but also the impact she has on us like i literally have a whole planning for the 19th i plan to go to the store then go back home listen to the CD with headphones in my bed then go to my hometown for the extra retrospective introspective white dress vibes she literally gets hundreds of thousands of people to care that much for something she's not even putting any effort into hyping up how is that even possible

lmao i remember many of us thought this was going to leak super early when she announced the delay but here we are while i agree there's a chance Dealer might be reused, we have zero indication that it's in the works for the next album (especially given her hint at the fact that she didn't have 'four songs ready', implying she didn't have as much planned as she usually does, or even anything). if it did leak we would have it for certain, and maybe there'd be complaints about it being reused in the future (although people didn't complain when they learned TNBAR was on NFR, they did when they heard what the final version was) but to me, it's worth it. i don't want to encourage leaks but i'd rather have dealer than not have it and be uncertain as to whether or not i'm ever going to listen to it yeah that's why most of us are at peace with the fact that it indeed did not fit Chemtrails and therefore wasn't kept, but at the same time wouldn't mind that much if it were rendered available on d*ree

I'm glad that the songs on this album seem to explore topics that don't boil down to love or men. I'm happy there are some love songs (Yosemite, Tulsa Jesus Freak, Breaking Up Slowly, Let Me Love You Like A Woman) because she's good at it, but it's also cool and refreshing that she should tackle her Lizzy era, her admiration towards Joan Baez, the way fame changes people, wandering, being untameable, reflections on normality. And those aren't just lyrics thrown here and there, they're the actual topic of actual songs. I really get the feeling that despite the length of Chemtrails, she has managed to widen her scope.

I'm not so much into this song because I think there's nothing more to it than what was shown in the snippets she posted on instagram and they're not that LQ so listening to them feels like listening to the song. HOWEVER i sometimes want to scream at the fact that she teased it in late 2017 once again, with a more elaborate production and vocal harmonies, implying it might be on her next record... she likes playing with us doesn't she

here's a thought: as it turns out, she's used both BAR and Yosemite for records after LFL, but none of them were reworked (some members pointed out that the changes in BAR's chorus were made before LFL was released, because of how she called it TNBAR in July 2017, saying it was about Topanga). so that means when we get Dealer, it most likely won't be reworked either and we'll be able to enjoy this 2020 masterpiece in its purity

I have no idea why people either hate God Bless America or don't care about it. It's a good song. The melody is really beautiful, the production is - unexpectedly, since it's on LFL - rich and well done, it has a political meaning that's miles away from QFTC. It's a song that's both catchy and super nice.
