  1. LOVE this video so much! The late 60s Laurel Canyon music-night-with-friends feels really shine through this video and she is so radiant! Vocals, beauty - everything on point!!
  2. She was also asked to record Doin Time by Interscope just for the Sublime doc, and ended up putting it on NFR because it fit the rest of the album. I could see her putting this on the covers record as it is an American classic and I’m sure it would help with the philanthropic advance of the song!
  3. From iTunes! I recognize Lana, Chuck, Blake, Byron, and I think that’s Charlie in the back with glasses and a fake moustache?

  5. In honour of Chuck’s birthday, the Grant siblings’ friend, Tatiana Dieteman has posted what appears to be a BTS photo of her and Chuck on set of the video!

I love this record! Isolation and Por Vida are two of my favourite musical projects and this record just solidifies my status as a Kali fan <3 her vocals on Vaya Con Dios are heavenly and siren-like, and the instrumental really reminds me of Miami and a couple of unreleased Lana tracks from 2010 actually! I can also definitely hear the reggaeton influences throughout this record and I love that she incorporates them while retaining her signature sound! 10/10 from me

  8. I feel like the single cover will be a picture taken on set of the Chemtrails video from August 29th, when Lana’s band members were with her shooting at that one house!
  9. Omg! We won! I love that song, “Summertime”! And maybe the single cover photo is from August 29th, when Lana’s band was on set with her for the Chemtrails video!
  10. I believe she’s watching this new Gucci video and tagged the directors and people involved! https://www.instagram.com/tv/CHtFtQGjUoH/?igshid=swz4di7spx4y She could’ve shot something today based on the glam makeup and accessories, as well as new sparkly nails, but chances are she got dressed up just for fun!
  11. Is this confirmed anywhere?

  15. I hope that one day her record with TLSP is released in full. I could see it being released in decades when Lana and her cohorts enter retirement. I’d probably ask for that, instead of demos and outtakes (some of which we never thought we’d ever get, but happened to leak this year). That seems the most rare of things to me!

Another tough one! Both songs are in my top 5 favourites off NFR! But I’d have to go with... The Greatest vs. Mariners Apartment Complex

  20. That’s so true! I feel like that’s the really cool thing about Lana, how almost every year she introduces some sort of distinguishable characteristic - whether it be through her appearance, lyrical motifs, vocal stylings, or overall musical mood - that easily categorizes her catalogue. Even before her official album eras, she’s always had a natural progression that was drastic enough from year to year that has somehow helped us formulate a timeline pertaining to her work! For example, the difference between Lana in 2008, 2009, 2010 and 2011 is so crazy to me. Each consecutive year feels like a natural progression, but when you pull back and look at them in hindsight, you can really see Lana’s evolution!
  21. I think we’re all just kind of speculating that whatever covers Lana did of songs that are considered classics now (on the NFR tour especially: For Free, Wicked Game, and I would say Chelsea Hotel #2 but she already has officially covered that, of course) will end up on the American Standard & Classics record!
  22. Exactly!! I remember Lana said in an interview for UV in 2014 that Old Money was derived from Methamphetamines, which she said was 5 years old (so, 2009) but the video says otherwise, the look is too similar to her 2008 Index Mag trailer park interview, and in 2009, her hair was a slightly different shade of platinum and was a bit longer/styled differently. Of course, as fans, we can’t really “confirm” anything, but I do think that we’re completely correct in our analyses! it’s so Lizzy Grant at her peak in terms of campiness and lyricism, and she has that southern drawl that wasn’t as prominent in her 2006 vocal delivery.
  23. I’ve always thought this as well, even before I read that they were from 2006! I feel like vocally they don’t line up with how Lana sounded in 2006 either, and I always got the impression that the homemade video Lana made for Methamphetamines was made in 2008 based on her look!
  24. I always loved the single cover and this makes me love it even more <3 queen of never being afraid to reference (or not)
