  1. Yeah, I don’t think she’ll be as active on social media after Monday compared to these past few days! Social media can be so draining and Lana definitely deserves a break if she feels that she needs one! <3 I actually always admired that about her, the fact that she always stuck to her guns and knew what was best for her and just did that.
  2. I didn’t interpret Lana being gone a while to mean anything major to be honest! I interpreted it to mean she wouldn’t be posting her little photo dumps or personal moments for the next 6 days. I still think she is going to post things related to business - so the album cover, tracklist, and a little clip from the music video on Monday (but then not so much after that)!
  3. I always love the feeling of when she starts to post more consecutively on the days leading up to her formal album announcements! this kind of momentum is what makes the pre-release fun and it’s a gift to be able to share it with you all! <3
  4. She’s just showing us the compilation (manuscript pages in order) for Violet to let us know that she is going to do the same for Behind the Iron Gates now! They are two separate books!
  5. I feel like she will! We know she’s at least started recording it because Patent Leather Do-Over was posted with that gorgeous audiovisual! I love the audiobook so much. I really enjoyed how it connected to NFR and I can’t wait to see how Violet segues into Behind the Iron Gates and how that will link to Chemtrails!
  6. Yes, same and exactly! Her latest post of the video with all of Violet’s manuscript pages suggests that’s what she’s doing!
  7. I guess that means Behind the Iron Gates could still be coming this year! Probably not in March but hopefully soon! “Compiling” it suggests she’s just structuring the order of the book and getting all her pages formatted for widespread book printing and distribution I guess?
  8. I respect your opinion! I actually think music that is made by a true artist does exactly this - it divides and encourages conversation! What's funny is that a lot of people claim NFR to be lyrically 'watered down' (and I don't know if this is because maybe I grew up with Lana and so my sensibility and personal taste I guess has been shaped by her since I discovered her 11 years ago when I was entering my teens) but I found it, paired with the singer-songwriter-ish production, to reflect her maturation and I think the subdued sound and simplicity that you mentioned was intentional (or at least was on Lana's mind on a subconscious level) because she was in a place where paring things down was what she needed. The lyrical transparency of NFR compared to her other records is endearing to me! I love all the records that came before NFR just as much and I disagree with critics' negative characterizations of those records 100% - but I see the beauty in the simplicity of a record like NFR and I personally appreciate it for what it is! To each their own! <3
  9. Norman Fucking Rockwell deserves all of the acclaim it gets - which I know is not an unpopular opinion outside of this site. The album feels fresh and expansive for Lana without feeling disingenuous and it yields some of Lana's objectively best songs of her career; I'm particularly thinking of Mariners Apartment Complex, Venice Bitch, The Greatest, and Hope is a Dangerous Thing For a Woman Like Me to Have - But I Have it. Of course, personal taste affects how you feel about the album, but you can't deny the presence, importance, and determination of the four songs I just listed. If you love this record with all your heart like me, then you probably can speak to the other 10 songs that, in my opinion, are also amazing! It also feels like quintessential Lana and I think that's what makes it such good music; it's comforting because it's very much true to the LDR brand but it offers a perspective that is wistful and productive in a sense! I also love the organic feel to the production - something about a good old piano gives the record a timeless quality, alongside some gorgeous guitars, strings, and the few heavier beats here and there. It has everything that is true to who Lana is, all while being cohesive. <3

  13. Early November! Dean Reid said he finished mixing the song exclusively for the video in the beginning of November (2 weeks before the release date of November 19th)!
  14. Re-listened to Honeymoon for the first time in a bit and really felt moved by it more than I usually am. I went back to this thread to find a little thing I wrote 3 years ago and it only holds more truth with time. Truly an album that will unravel all its layers in the years to come and to me, is the essence of Lana’s artistry <3
  15. I remember she spent New Years in Hawaii last year too! Hope she has lots of fun and stays safe <3

  20. The entirety of Hope is a Dangerous Thing. “You lose your way, just take my hand you’re lost at sea then I’ll command your boat to me again Don’t look too far Right where you are - that’s where I am I’m your man” - Mariners Apartment Complex (I love the presence of these lyrics and the sailing imagery!) ”There’s no more chasing rainbows And hoping for an end to them Their arches are illusions solid at first glance” - Get Free (A very poignant and profound sentiment!) “We both know that it’s not fashionable to love me but you don’t go ‘cause truly there’s nobody for you but me” - Honeymoon (It is stark but that’s the beauty of it - the dramatic in the simple is classic Lana).
