"American Standards & Classics" Cover Album - Pre-Pre-Release Thread
IanadeIrey replied to Elle's topic in New Releases
Quick cover mock-up using the selfie she posted today! Inspired by Elvis Presley’s album covers from the 50s! -
So gorgeous as always hope Lana has a wonderful Thanksgiving with her loved ones and LOL @ her little comment about the typewriter - can you believe that says “Corona”?
-
Sending my best wishes to Lana and her family. The loss of anyone is sad to hear and with everything going on, I really appreciate Lana’s message of being there in spirit with people losing loved ones. On a more positive note though, she looks stunning as usual! I loved her blonde but this shade of brown and the way her hair is styled with her makeup and outfit reminds me of the Endless Summer tour era! <3

Lana rightfully dragging people and setting the record straight on Twitter is what I live for
-
Sheridan posted about working with Lana yesterday, and hashtagged it with “comingsoon”! He also posted pictures of the set which appears to be a western/saloon-themed bar. Etienne and Clay were also there, and Clay posted a photo of himself in a cowboy outfit on the supposed video set! I think it’s for another cover off of the American Standards & Classics record. Maybe a country song or “California Dreamin”, as Sheridan posted a photo of the set to his stories with that song playing!

I bet the wavy hair, lashes, and liner are from the video she filmed yesterday! a serve is incoming!! she looks gorgeous and it’s astounding how one person can manage to pull off every single hair colour. A true queen and goddess

Music to Watch Boys to vs. Salvatore

I think this is likely for another music video off of the covers record!! It appears they’re in a bar or a saloon-esque diner of some sort, so maybe it’s for one of the Patsy Cline/real ‘Americana’ country songs!

What if it’s the cover of “Cactus” by the Pixies that was registered in 2017? What with all the Cactus emojis! They could’ve shot a video for it today (and maybe it will confirm whether or not Lana really dyed her hair brown LOL). The cover could’ve been produced with Zach Dawes in 2017 around the time they had TLSP band, so sonically, it would fit with the other covers on this record since they’re also produced by him! -

She should retitle it to “Like a D6” Cola supremacy -
Off to the Races vs. Gods & Monsters

I wonder what prompted her to go back to brunette! I love all her hair colours but it was so nice to see her blonde again! May she reunite with it again lol!
-

YES! I’d love a cover of Roxanne by The Police as well!

THIS IS GORGEOUSSSSSS you had no business popping off like this I’m so hoping for a 60s, retro-bombshell-esque feel with the cover art and I’m convinced you’ve sowed the seeds that we will reap. Legend behaviour -
Ok, that’s what I thought lol! I thought I missed Chuck posting about it! I wonder what the video will look like now, because I feel like in our heads we all kind of came up with a concept that involved the animal masks
-
Do you mean Charlie? I was going through Chuck’s posts to see it but I didn’t find anything, but I did notice that Charlie posted about directing Perfume Genius’s new video and in it we can see some scary animal masks! was that what you were referring to?
-
You’re definitely not alone lol! I feel like it’s also such an invasion of boundaries and encroaches upon women’s privacy too. I know it’s not always mal-intented but it’s still a very uncomfortable thing to experience on the whole and oftentimes, commodifying for the women being asked the question. Go off, queen!
