  1. Aw, that sounds like such a nice day! <3 and yesss, the farmer market is so Lana! and that poem is called “Ringtone”! I absolutely love it too, I wish she recorded all of the longer poems for the audiobook because they’re all so amazing
  2. I’m in Canada and I just received mine yesterday! I was also concerned about the fact that no tracking was provided, especially since past orders from her store did provide tracking. Normally that was because Canada Post was delivering it from the UK, but this time they didn’t. I don’t know where you’re based in, but I’m thinking maybe because of COVID there are certain restrictions on some companies when it comes to handling international shipments?

  4. I’m so hoping this is on COTCC! I love when Lana has this sound and I just started listening to Nikki Lane and I absolutely love her!
  5. I could see that too! This song really feels like an extension of MAC which was track 2 on NFR, so I feel like this song is definitely somewhere at the beginning of the record where we’re still getting introduced to its narrative <3
  6. At the end of the video Weyes Blood says a really simple thing about just living life and I think that was left in because it really sums up the song. I think she’s talking about how LA has served her well but she’s not in a place where she feels like the city is necessarily what grounds her - it’s the people there and that’s why this record is about her friends and family and why she feels like she can leave LA - but she knows that it’s the people who she loves who make life fun and livable. I think it’s beautiful that this song came first and it makes sense that it’s the first single. I’m definitely hoping it’s track 1! <3

I definitely have to check her out! I loved all the guests that Lana brought on tour last year but I never actually looked into their music - that will have to change! <3
  8. This truly does feel like an extension of MAC. I love it so much and this is definitely a song that came straight from Lana’s heart. Her voice shines so brilliantly on this track and the lyrics are really heartfelt. I love the first verse so much. So excited for this record and hope we get some more traditional sounding instruments on it! I loved the flute(?) towards the end of the track - it really reminded me of the sound that the Navajo flutist she invited in Albuquerque brought on stage!
  9. I love this video, and I don’t think quantity = quality. Just because she made it herself on her phone doesn’t make it any worse than her high budget videos. It’s about the sentiment and I absolutely love the intimacy of this video. It’s super fitting for the song and I feel like I’m there with her in these snippets of her life that we’re privy to in the video. I hope we get more videos like this in the future because they’re so raw and truly capture who Lana is at her heart! <3
  10. This! I feel like people have normalized collectively critiquing someone’s art in a way that’s masked as sympathetic by saying things like “honey...” but really it’s just backhanded and kinda rude for no reason.
  11. Girl, thank god, because I saw that you made this post and thought, “not you...I thought this user had taste” ?
  12. I feel like Lana is a classic beauty and part of what makes her her is that she subscribes to a very traditional form of femininity in terms of her looks - even when she has on no makeup, she still radiates this sense of glamorous confidence in her womanhood; she feels beautiful inside and out (and she's always gorgeous no matter what!) <3 It's her hair and she can do whatever she pleases, of course, but I have to say - I do think because of her classic feminine beauty in terms of her personal aesthetic, she will always have hair (and I do think her hair is too beautiful for her to be bald!) But I've loved every length she's had - her classic long hair, but also her shaggier UV cut, and I loved her hair in early 2018 - that lob was so cute!
  13. This morning! When was the last time you listened to NFR in full?

  15. I’m so happy to see a thread for Joni! I didn’t even know we had one!
  16. So many blatantly anti-Trump people follow him on social media. Does it mean they support him? Hellll no - it’s just important to be aware of what your leader is spewing, regardless of whether or not you agree with them. It’s quite obvious she does not support Trump or Pence and it’s ridiculous to insinuate otherwise.
  17. This poetry collection is absolutely unreal. I really love what Lana said in the book’s blurb about it being nothing more what it is, which to me, is just a testament to her authenticity, humility, and artistry. These poems feel so familiar but like such new groundbreaking territory for Lana. All of the poems are so amazing because they read like poetic journal entries and that’s what makes it feel intimate. Never to Heaven is still such a brilliant poem to me in that it says exactly what it needs to say and the whole idea of her struggle for a relationship in regards to her ability to think deeply and ponder the philosophies of this world is so profound. I think it’s poignant because it is hard to find someone when you are the type to think abstractly like that - you’re prone to feeling emptier because philosophy is a subject that is so fulfilling but also raises so many other questions that can lead to existential anxieties. And the fact that she says she’ll never try to know what God knows (contrast from PSB) and that she believes in herself to be of the more “normal” kind to make these relationships less suffocating for herself - is just furthering the message that as humans, the relationships we have with others are what write our story; even from a pure sociological perspective. And I think it’s beautiful that virtually Lana’s whole niche is writing about her relationships with others in regards to her self reflections. She truly is a prophet of our time and I’m grateful for her wisdom!
  18. I can’t think of 20, but I can think of 10! Here’s my list, in no particular order: The Lady from Shanghai Carnival of Souls Les Parapluies de Cherbourg Gilda Affair in Trinidad You’ll Never Get Rich Chungking Express In the Mood for Love School of Rock Legally Blonde
  19. Yes! I’m hoping for some more lyrical parallels on Chemtrails and Behind the Iron Gates!
  20. This poem is so cute! I think it’s a nice breather between some of the heavier poems on Violet. And I love the synergy between it and Cinnamon Girl
