I’ve been raised from the dead to say thanks for voting for me, congrats to the winners, and West Coast slander basically means a self-ban on this site! <3 -

On the Lipsters Red Carpet, she’s a star, and she’s burning through you: IanadeIrey oozes glamour with starry halo on the 2022 Lipsters red carpet before an enigmatic disappearance By LanaBoards Daily • January 21, 2023 On The Decade Edition: “I won’t be here for the entire ceremony (a girlboss has last-minute work on the weekends) but I’ve made it to the Lipsters red carpet—and I’m very happy to be here! Tonight is about celebrating 10 years of LanaBoards and all the beautiful people in it. Elle and our amazing moderators are to thank for keeping this community alive, as are all the lovely users!” On her Lipsters look: “It’s a little bit Hollywood, a little New York!” On her nominations: “It’s not my first rodeo, but I’m surprised to be nominated for multiple awards again. I’m like, are you people not tired of me?! It’s really sweet to be recognized, but I’d love to see some of my favourites honoured tonight. The real win for me is seeing the people I love celebrated.” -
That’s totally fair! Though I will say - the beauty of being an artist who had their come-up in the 2010s means that there is so much room to make your own rules in terms of things like touring and promotion. I think Lana has done everything she’s had to do by her rules and standards, but you’re so right that so many artists tour more extensively—but then again, different avenues that different artists nurture. Lana has made more albums than most of her peers who tour more than her, so it’s all about what the musician wants! Sorry to hear you didn’t get to see her as much as you wanted

I don’t think she will do a traditional tour ever again, just because she doesn’t have to. The lifestyle when on tour probably takes a mental and physical toll on any artist, and it’s clear that Lana really loves being at home and in a bit of a routine—she is a Cancerian queen after all and we love our home life lol. Tours and long periods of travel in general feel like a disruption to the serenity and balance of everyday life. After 8+ years of touring, she’s kind of done everything she has had to do in terms of tours - but that’s not to say there won’t ever be some live performances!!

I’m so happy to know that she’s returning to a nautical soundscape (based on RIOPY’s comments and Neil’s use of the 🌊 emoji). She embodies the ocean so perfectly and I love the feeling of familiarity I get from her songs that do lean into that. The title track of Ocean Blvd felt like a grounding breath to get back to what feels natural, if that makes sense.

I can’t wait to see everyone’s looks tomorrow…and to show you all my own! ✨💫🌟 -
I think The Grants had a visual that was indeed the “small snippet of [their] lives over the last 2 years” that Lana said was on the stolen camcorder and that they were planning on sharing, so I totally agree with @lilac heaven. I wonder if she’ll still release it beforehand. If not that track, then I think either Sweet or A&W—just because the singles tend to be within the beginning of the tracklist.

This logic follows that bodies our society deems “fit” are derived from unhappiness within our bodies. While I don’t think this is entirely untrue because it’s exactly what the (toxic) fitness industry capitalizes on, it’s unfair to Miley and Lana to make that assumption. And there are so many reasons people have bodies that are associated with what mainstream society has deemed “fit” or “perfect.” Everyone is different!
-
I don’t think anyone should make the assumption that Lana is “comfortable with imperfect bodies” when she’s just existing as she always has. We can only say that for figures and influencers whose content is explicitly about body-positivity. It is a projection when people say things about Lana being “comfortable even with imperfect bodies” and it inadvertently reinforces misogynistic ideals about women’s bodies. I don’t think that was your intention, but I just want this space to be mindful of that.

Every song Miley Cyrus covers, she kills so for that reason, she can do no wrong. Plus, she’s a Sagittarius and I love them ❤️. Pitting Lana and Miley (and other women) against each other does nothing, especially when both respect one another and have their rightful place in the music scene. Why not give both artists a chance to get their moment—as futile as charts may be?

LOVE the new song - it has remnants of some of the dreamier Isolation tracks but obviously feels super fresh. Can’t wait to hear the entire record!!
-
It’s so interesting to know that the insiders have said the latter half of the record is their favourite—because while there’s obviously no song of Lana’s that I dislike, my absolute favourites tend to be within the first 5 to 6 tracks on the album (with a few exceptions here and there). So I really feel each and every song on Ocean Blvd is going to serve such a distinct purpose in the album’s grand narrative, and that all of us will have a different favourite for different reasons!
