  1. Ooh I like this! And that makes sense to me, because I feel like if she wanted to talk about something being “hot” she’d use a more intuitive thing, like fire, a classic Lanaism!
  2. In what context would she be singing about peppers? Every other seemingly “random” track title she’s had kind of made sense without having to hear it. Let’s discuss this—and whether or not you think peppers are disgusting or delicious.
  3. We don’t know the producer credits yet, but we have the writer credits! Though I think the writers of the sampled song have to be in the credits of the song that’s doing the sampling, and it’s just Lana, Tommy, Jack, and Mike.
  4. Peppers and Fishtails…if these are fake, I have to say, at least there’s some effort with the eclecticism!
  5. Ohhhh, I see! I thought we disregarded those because titles we knew were fake (like “God Put Safety on the Shore of My Father’s Waters - He Didn’t Stay Floating”) were also scrobbled, and anyone can scrobble titles lol.
  6. @Beautiful Loser check out their post history! @Kintsugi that’s where a lot of new information has come from!
  7. Cackling at how I come back to LanaBoards with a million likes from a @fishtails sweetcinnamondealer, you are FAST! I have to say - I am loving the long titles. It is so maximalist of Lana to do that and is uncannily her. Inspiration 4 life.
  8. Poor Nikki Lane…she was really unscathed by the extremest of Lipsters until 2020 (the year that everything shifted) ☠️
  9. That vid was from July when they went to Chicago, so it was older - but I think you’re right, I’m also assuming they’re still together
  10. We don’t know for sure, since Jack posted about Ocean Blvd on his story even after she was first seen with Evan, but they could just remain good friends. She was definitely still with Jack when she finished the album, though, and she included a photo of them together on one of the vinyl sleeves.
  11. OK but the interweaving of rumoured song titles and LDR canon with fake tracklists and the lore of the very real lives of LanaBoards members…we are a beautiful tapestry
  12. Lol no I know, we discussed that before (also this pic makes me realize how I’m not a fan of this hairstyle 💀)
  13. When Fishtails is actually a play-on-words and is about the tale of how Phish got banned from the Lake Placid Olympic Arena (an incident Lana has mentioned twice)
  14. Girl same, fish scare the hell outta me! Their eyes and scales are not pleasant to see. It is my irrational fear, I am aware… Manifesting exactly what you’ve written here <3
  15. Tbh the word “fish” is so jarring to me and just conjures scaly and slimy imagery so I can’t help but not separate the title “Fishtails” from that… but it’s Lana so it’s going to be a beautiful narrative and song and I’m excited to see how she utilizes such a unique concept here.
  16. Definitely! Marital themes in Lana’s work have almost always been so existential, and since Fishtails could potentially be towards the very end of the record, it would be such a moment to fade off this very long and dynamic album!
  17. Fishtail 1. an object that is forked like a fish's tail. "carved detail including fishtail terminals on the banisters" 2. an uncontrolled sideways movement of the back of a motor vehicle. "he hit the brakes, sending the car into a fishtail that carried him across the street" verb So these definitions—aside from the hairstyle—seem to indicate conflict. A “forked” object reminds me of the phrase, “fork in the road”, which is a metaphor for making a choice between two major life decisions, and “an uncontrolled sideways movement” just connotes chaos.
  18. We don’t, I think it was @cherrytropico who said Kintsugi and Fishtails could be interchangeable given the lengths of the titles of track 8 and track 14 in the LQ image.
  19. Now that we know the sample is the last track, and what Lana said to W Mag about “saying thank you and goodbye” on every closer of her records, I don’t think it’s Cinnamon Girl. I think a strong contender is The Greatest since that song feels very much like closure from everything. Since Lana, Jack, and Mike are writers on the song, it has to be a Jack track from 2019–present (which rules out anything from Blue Banisters, and it’s probably not something from COTCC, since it’s fairly recent to have any “shocking” fan favourites). It’s either an NFR! track OR it could be something from 2006-2008 when she was writing mostly on her own. That said, a sample usually means it’s related to an instrumental, because Lana has self-referenced before with lyrics, but that’s merely a reference - not a sample. So I really think it’s The Greatest.
  20. We’re the ones who should be thanking you for compiling all this influx of information so comprehensibly and in one place!!!
