I am a huge fan of Alice in Chains too, and totally see where you’re coming from (because I think posthumous collabs are distasteful as well) — but I think when people ask these questions, it’s more like a hypothetical/dream/fantasy thing. Like Lana has expressed in some early interviews that she would have loved to collaborate with Elvis, but I think that just means in an alternate reality where they did actually overlap and saying that is rather a stand-in for how much she admires him. Of course, it seems futile to ask this question when it’s not even possible, but I guess people just like to consider these very distant abstractions lol.

Isn’t that @GPSOTSOMFWHDSF’s old username?

Yeah, strange about the meet and greet, so I also got early entry VIP. So excited to see her! I saw her last in 2018 so I can’t wait to see what she has up her sleeve now.

Gross and vulgar. Further proof that logic is lacking over there because in the same post they call her “mother” — sexualizing their mother?

“Lana is back and she’s cooler than ever 😍😍😍” — it was clever for like, 2 seconds on April 19, 2017, but then never again.

I totally agree, and Lana has even said herself that her most comfortable spot is being in the studio. That’s not to say every touring experience has been bad, of course, but I definitely think this option would be a much better balance between the extremes of being on tour and not being on tour. Her team could always charge people to watch the recorded performance, but it really doesn’t make sense because people would obviously record it and upload it to YouTube — so if she just wanted to do a fun live show without thinking about money (which we know isn’t her primary motivation at this point), she could very well do so. You’re so right about the fans, especially given the scares of the last two years…being in close quarters with people who have ambushed her church and home and definitely have better access to her when she’s onstage or in the audience — that’s not good.

It’s so true…I’m obviously not a famous multi-millionaire touring musician, but whenever I have to travel for some work obligation I feel like such a fish out of water, and I’m sure Lana probably has felt that way over time too. It’s not fun or glamorous to be hotel-hopping or sleeping in a bus for an extended period of time. And when you’re someone who loves routine, any change from that is a disruption.

If Lana did a HUGE one-off, two-hour-long “secret” show at a lush venue like the Hollywood Bowl with no audience that was professionally recorded and then available to watch publicly…that would be amazing. It would be a way to get around the pressure of having to go on an extensive tour but would still satisfy the fans’ hunger to have some new concert footage and hear some live renditions of new tracks. But that said, I know it’s not the same magic as seeing her live live, in-person. The energy cannot be fully captured in video recording. But it’s a compromise, I guess!

So excited for the tour! Does anyone have a presale code?

“Did you know that there are consequences for trolling?” — the mods, probably.

I have to say, though, I was inactive on LanaBoards during this time just because I was so busy with my real life...and I didn't even think about the wait. I was still listening to the music and following what was going on, but I find that if you centre yourself in something totally unrelated, it's like, oh, the album's already out?! But we're all crazy obsessed here, so to even consider that we would ground ourselves in something else is radical.

@LanasLeftCheekFiller These are the coolest awards I've ever seen...why haven't we nominated you for best artist?!! You have my vote for the 2023 Lipsters, hands-down. Thank you so much for this (and for really honouring my love for black-and-white with the colouring)!! -
Amy Winehouse(Back To Black) begins filming-controversy ensues

I haven’t had a good feeling about this since the news broke and the photos surfaced. It doesn’t seem like it will delve into her story in a bright-sided way, and feels exploitative of her story — especially since it hasn’t even been 12 years since her passing. I’d love to be proven wrong, but with Hollywood’s trend of capitalizing off of the trauma and hardships of late women, it’s hard to believe otherwise.- 22 replies

I have to agree with @PARADIXO on Leak of the Decade. While I love Serene Queen, in retrospect, I really think a song like Life is Beautiful or I Talk to Jesus especially deserved it—just because they both had been extremely coveted for years before they leaked! Either those tracks or something really unexpected but legendary, like Unidentified Flying Bill. Had it not been on Blue Banisters, I would have voted for Living Legend—hands-down—because that song had been anticipated since 2013, we knew of its sentimental backstory, and man, did it not disappoint. -

Congratulations @Elle on sweeping the awards! Though it’s no surprise, as we wouldn’t even have a decade of LanaBoards to celebrate if it weren’t for you. We adore you and appreciate you for your continued kindness and all that you do! -

What’s funnier is that the caption that went with that pic was about how she was going to drop some hand-bound copies of Violet off at some mom-and-pop bookstores in CA…and sell them for a dollar. Humble queen -

No because the amount of fucks she gave in 2018 to tweet this but also have the MAC single cover with poorly-photoshopped hair and makeup as her profile pic… unbothered icon -

There’s no undeserving winner for Album of the Decade here. Ultraviolence is the record that shifted Lana’s career trajectory. She proved that she could rise above the skepticism of her debut and showed her resilience by going deeper, darker, and rawer.
