Leeds, ENG @ Reading & Leeds Festival - August 25th, 2024
IanadeIrey replied to Elle's topic in 2024 Performances
The look was so 90s/2000s! She really pulls off that classic supermodel look which we haven’t seen from her that often. Can’t wait for tonight. Does anyone have a recording of yesterday’s stream? Looking at you Queen @ImenaOphelia -
The Grants

Not that it’s necessarily indicative of anything, but Lana’s bio on Spotify has been cleared - wondering if it’s about to be updated to reflect some new release(s)? Typically artist bios include their most recent works so that may be something to keep an eye on.

Are we forgetting she literally dropped the pre-order for Lust for Life 9 days before it came out - anything could happen

Unknown Song (Fenway Park Intro)
IanadeIrey replied to That Venice Bitch's topic in Non-Album Content
This song sounded very girl-group, 60s-esque to me and upon further research, I realized that The Shangri-Las had a song titled “Past, Present & Future”. Lana revealed in 2019 that some of her early work with Jack before they settled on a direction for NFR was similar to the LFL title track and she referred to it as “hip-hop girl-group” - so I wonder if this song was borne out of those early 2018 sessions and was revisited/reworked more recently for Lasso. -
Lana Del Rey and Quavo “Tough” - OUT NOW!
IanadeIrey replied to rocknrollgroupie's topic in New Releases
Adding to the discourse…I think it’s fun and both lyrically and sonically does a lot to build the thematic and atmospheric world that Lana could very well be going for on a country album. It’s a heavily stylized track, which is a nice breath from the cathartic, dense, and wordy output of the last few records——which was very intellectual, profound, and beautiful, and bore some of her best work ever, and I’d love to hear some of that with a country flair on Lasso——but as she herself said, it sounds like she’s now in a more melodic place where the emphasis is on the sound and style than any detailed lyrical exploration. Hence, a genre as specific and motif-driven as country makes perfect sense for her to dive into fully now. -

Speeding down the highway on this sunny day and playing the song on loop..yup. Gonna be number 1 on my Spotify Wrapped for sure -

The quality of the video and the way she stuns in the light remind me so much of those 2017 Neil Krug pictures of her in the black dress on her balcony. Like a southern gothic twist on her witchy schtick -

Lana linking up with her exes for songs is kind of a girlboss move…breaking hearts and cheques, I know that’s right -
Lana Del Rey and Quavo “Tough” - OUT NOW!
IanadeIrey replied to rocknrollgroupie's topic in New Releases
It’s really a perfect mix between country and hip-hop - the marriage of genres here feels so natural that I could see it being a centrepiece on Lasso, just to be that one signature upbeat song she typically features on each album. The visuals are too akin to Lana for the song to not be on her album. And I hope that heavenly yet still earthy bridge is indicative of the soundscape for the rest of the album -

I don’t think the September date means anything, necessarily, other than about the production time - a lot of her 7 inch vinyl releases had release dates way in advance. Candy Necklace had a fall release date even though it was available to order in the summer. -

I love it so much. The video is really setting the tone nicely for a country album from Lana - she looks gorgeous and they complement each other well! -

The quality of the music video trailer, her look and the Americana motifs, and the notion of a new LDR song dropping in July are reminding me of summer 2011/the BTD shoot/the original Blue Jeans video but, of course, as something new. So excited for tomorrow -
This is a very poignant observation and also ties back into the themes of the title track and the sentiment of not wanting to be forgotten

It’s probably 9 PM PDT on July 3rd / 12 AM EDT on July 4th, hence, the two different dates. -

Not the photo being deleted… I don’t know what to think though. I’m still a Tough on Lasso truther but that’s probably because I like the song so much that I want it to be memorialized on Lana’s album lol. Even if he’s doing the heavy lifting in terms of promo, I could see it being tacked onto the album like Doin Time on NFR. -

It’s definitely going to be on her album. She has more vocals on the song and it’s melodically and sonically so her - that doesn’t mean it’s not a duet but everything from the song itself to the visuals we saw at Fenway just screams Lana. -

The song was so good at Fenway…I keep thinking about it. I love them together and I love the visuals so far. Hoping it’s out in the next 2 weeks -
Don’t believe Tik Tok fans…and it’s not at all like her to give super specific info to one person like that. It’s better to assume nothing than to take something as unfounded as a fan’s claim.

10th Anniversary of Ultraviolence - June 13th
IanadeIrey replied to shadesofblue's topic in Lana Thoughts
Happy birthday to the Bible that is Ultraviolence. There are too many things to say about this album - but it’s shaped me so much and the sheer number of things in my life that have been inspired purely from listening to it and experiencing the era in real time is insane. I can’t believe it’s been 10 years already. If Born to Die and Paradise were what introduced the world to Lana Del Rey, then Ultraviolence is what cemented her status as a living legend and prolific icon who would only continue to generously share her lyrical self-reflections in the years to come. In the broader LDR universe, Ultraviolence bears so much lore that we’ll only continue to unpack as we listen to this album over the next 10 (and more!) years. -

Cackling. Same energy as the Interscope artists’ reimaginings of BTD, Paradise, and NFR.
