I love it! It’s such a saccharine, but innocently dark song. It’s perfect for the show, and I’m excited to see which characters’ plot-line it accompanies on Sunday! Her vocals are stellar, and I love the production, the little notes of melodic dissonance throughout really add so much to it — it sounds out-of-tune in a very intentional way, almost to convey the brokenness of a few relationships in the show that the characters still engage in. I’m excited to see how this might translate into a new sound for the next album!

I see the concepts of each and can absolutely appreciate them in that way, but the executions just aren’t my favourite, which is a shame. But the beauty in that is that, we can kind of say that’s the point of this medium of art; it’s not going to be aesthetically pleasing, per se, but it’s going to invoke some sort of visceral reaction, and that’s what it’s doing to me.

Glad we’re back and everything’s okay! The downtime made me realize how much I appreciate this site, it’s an integral part of my day! <3
