I totally agree! I also think that Lana not feigning “happiness” in the traditional sense is a testament to her vulnerability, which I view as a strength. She is always authentic about how she feels and I think that’s what the human experience is all about. I would say that she has life figured out in that way and displays an incredibly high level of self-awareness and emotional intelligence.

This medium-brown hair colour with the almost caramel-blonde highlights looks so perfect on her. It reminds me of her hair colour in the summer of 2019 - it complements her skin so beautifully and is a happy medium between her truest brunette and her brightest blonde shades! <3 she is always so stunning

I also don’t think it’s our place to speak on behalf of Lana’s emotions as if it were fact too. I think life is always full of wide-ranging emotions and experiences and for fans to basically falsify and weaponize Lana’s very real experiences against other fans to create a weird hierarchy of fan-ship is terrible!

I think it’s so weird too, because Lana has never really spoken negatively of her past records. She’s always defended her own honour and work, so it’s always rubbed me the wrong way when stans create a hierarchy of her records. I relate more to NFR and COTCC in terms of my life experiences in relation to Lana’s, for example, but I’ve never invalidated her past records or thought that her past records were “problematic/traumatic” looking back. It’s Lana’s authentic work, so I absolutely loathe the weird entitlement/ownership some fans take on when it comes to them. As for Lana being the writer, she is completely free to identify/not identify with her records as she moves on in her life - but I don’t think that gives fans the right to pass judgement on the albums themselves, because they don’t have the lived experience that Lana does - we’re experiencing her life story within the records as outsiders, at the end of the day.

I was on Tik Tok and I was just so embarrassed on behalf of the other fans. I know that sounds mean and I don’t want to critique anyone, but I feel like there’s just a level of discernibility regarding fake news surrounding this album that even the most gullible of people still have and on top of that, there’s this weird projection of trauma-blaming and illustrating Lana’s past eras as her trauma - which is super inappropriate to insinuate. Like, why are you being the one to put all that out on the table when Lana herself hasn’t? I get why she’s so adamant about telling her own story on this album because I can imagine it’s pretty frustrating and pathetic to have critics - and your own misguided fans - do that for you (and incorrectly/defamatory too). Can’t wait for her to set the record straight in 10 days!

She liked a bunch of tweets from major publications, radio stations, and music streaming sites wishing her a happy birthday - a few of which mentioned Blue Banisters coming out on July 4th. I think she just liked them because they were kind to wish her a happy birthday and not necessarily because she wanted to confirm the release date....BUT I do think July 4th is still happening

I’m really curious about what the album was retitled to. Blue Banisters really felt like a culmination point thematically and the sentiment was so fitting to be the title track - I wonder what changed. Hopefully we’ll find out in 11 days!

She’s also been radiating a lot of “hot girl summer” vibes lately with bright colours in terms of makeup and clothing, as well as trendier silhouettes I definitely can see that translating into the album’s visuals (if there are any, LOL!) <3

I love Thunder and it goes so well with Text Book sonically! As others have pointed out, the lovely background vocalists who were also on Summertime and Text Book sing on it, so if she features them prominently throughout the album, it would add a very soulful touch and almost serve as a little motif.

Yes, I remember in the unedited recording of the 2017 Pitchfork interview, she confirmed that everybody calls her Lana except for her parents, and Chuck calls her “Fwee” LOL!

I think Neil might work with Lana again for LDR8. He’s at her house right now (he posted her birthday cake to his story just now) and usually whenever he’s hanging out with her, he’s usually peripherally working with her (for example, he wasn’t really hanging out with her in 2018/2019 and he evidently wasn’t involved with NFR’s visuals).

I think this is from December 2019 when she went to Maui with a huge group of friends and family. She had natural nails during that trip and posted a photo wearing those sunglasses at the time - plus, her hair colour/texture here align with the way it looked in pictures from that trip! the other new pictures are definitely from today/this month, as she only recently added those gorgeous highlights.
