I wonder if this album will contain any of the songs that Lana sang the lead for from her band sessions with the guys from The Last Shadow Puppets. Especially if Zach is producing, I wonder if there were any songs left over that she wanted to rework (like how California ended up on NFR with different verses from the demo and additional production from Jack).

It probably means nothing, so don’t take this super seriously, but on Clay’s recent IG post, this video producer commented “No photos on set please” to which Clay responded with “?”. This producer previously worked on the Don’t Call Me Angel video (which he posted about upon its release) so maybe he’s somehow involved with a new video for Lana? Alongside Clay, the producer, Connor Gould, is also following Lana, Chuck, and Charlie.

While driving today, I had the album on and I ended up going a little bit out of the city and while on the road, had a literal country club on my right and to my left, some farmland with yellowed grass and I thought that that imagery was so on the nose for this album. It was perfect

Omg no I love For Free and think it’s perfect as the closer! I actually don’t think there’s a song in her discography I dislike LOL! The only reason why I took one point from it is because I feel like it’s more fair to the other songs, as those are ones that Lana wrote herself (even though I have been a huge Joni Mitchell fan for years)!

I don’t know about anyone having the album, especially if this is coming from Reddit - this one alleged Chemtrails tracklist from June 2020 was first posted there by an “insider” who was later revealed to be a few users from this site who were all on a Discord together or something #trustnoone

April 5th is going to be our new August 5th

The thing about this record is that it screams “URGENCY” - I can sense that she’s somewhat dying to get this record out, as you would think an artist like Lana who really appreciates albums as bodies of work values the importance of having space between them to breathe once they’re in the world (even if she’s already fully moved on to her next project). So it’s intriguing that she wants this album to be out as soon as possible, especially since she said she’s going to be addressing the way the media has treated her in it. I think this record is going to be just as vulnerable as Chemtrails, but will take on a bit of a wry-ness with its narrative, which I imagine will translate into its sound. Chemtrails lamented wistfully on the fragility and fleetingness of life and thus, had this very delicate sound to it; I think Rock Candy Sweet will do the exact same thing but in a slightly more jaded, perhaps ruminative and brooding way - which to me, signals a sharp turn away from Chemtrails’s sound. If this album is to come in June, it would make the most sense for it to accomplish the same thing/build upon what she explored in Chemtrails in the most stark, opposite way. That is what her urgency for it to be out seems to indicate. Excited!
