can yall talk about this bop though?

Shocked that she doesn't have a thread. Amazing producer + singer. New EP out this year based on what she's been teasing on IG

Second single from NIGHTMARE VACATION out now. Album apparently coming this year, will be announced soon! Musically, IPHONE >>> but this video is EVERYTHING

I mean do we really have to worry about Charli selling out? There's a difference between Charli being stuck in label hell with her label trying to get a quick hit a la Boys versus Charli writing Same Old Love, Fancy, I Love It, etc. (except actually keeping them this time instead of giving them away, lol). But anyways, it feels like maybe she's trolling/hyping the Janet album.

Anyways, my top 3 from Charli... it's very volatile. Never sure of what my actual favorites are because its always rotating. Right now I'd say that the ones that I go back to the most are: Next Level Charli Gone Thoughts But also... Shake It exists. February 2017 exists. Cross You Out exists. It's like picking favorite children.

Thoughts, Track 10, Backseat, Blame It On U, Delicious... Not sonically the most similar to HIFN, but definitely some of her more emo tracks.

Thinking about how IPHONE is the song of the year I just play it on repeat for hours on end...
-
Thinking about Breathe Out today
-
Iirc it's just (part of?) the melody of ROL that she "re-used"?

Didn't know my fantasy would hit such a nerve... Anyways, stream Transnation (if it comes out)!

In my fantasy, SOPHIE is leaking all of this shit herself to prevent the commodification of her art, committing to anti-capitalism by preventing her tracks from being boughten...

Imagine Charli cashing in on the trendiness of the 80s/90s throwback sort of sound that's getting popular right now on a throwback-sounding album with production from Dev Hynes, Jack Antonoff, Ariel Rechtshaid, Deaton Chris Anthony, etc. I wonder if the Janet album cashes in upon this throwback sound but with production from AG. It would also be cool to have SOPHIE produce a 90s sounding track for Charli too considering how a lot of the Transnation leaks + WGFU for some reason scream 90s to me. I feel like True Romance definitely had a level of nostalgia in its production. I'm not well versed in music enough to make specific references but there was this heavy throwback feeling I got from the record (as well as with the proximity of her covers of The Killing Moon and I Want It That Way). It would be cool to see Charli bring that back again. I would never say no to more PC music though, I just eat that shit up, but it would be cool to hear Charli make something different nowadays. But ultimately if she changes up her sound, I really hope she'd expand her horizons in terms of producers...I think that she would really benefit from working with people she's either hardly worked with or haven't worked with since TR/Sucker. Even a collab with SOPHIE in 2020 I feel would be refreshing for her sound considering they haven't worked heavily together since 2016 or so.

Yeah, but I think it's commonplace to include a feature on a greatest hits album if its that iconic
-
Hurts how you didn't include Swish Swish and If We Ever Meet Again.
-
do yall think that the VV vinyls/merch could be a strategy to secure funding for high-budget Janet album... this is my fantasy at least.

Thinking about how Hey Girl is CRIMINALLY underrated. The best song on Joanne alongside Perfect Illusion.
-
I think it's a really lovely video and captures the essence of the song well even if she isn't lipsyncing the song and whatnot. Although I do feel like some of the sounds in the instrumental sound like a subway's doors warning they're about to close so I do wish there was some scene of this video on the subway. Quite beautiful when they both killed each other.

The international ramifications if SOPHIE were to put these 9 tracks on streaming. I feel like many artists would announce their retirements immediately. The Billboard charts would have to shut down for a month because they would need extra time to count the groundbreaking streams and sales of this record.

So does anyone have their own tracklist of Transnation? My uneducated ass is so curious now after hearing My Forever...
-
Wanna Get Fucked Up? is so adorable. Perfect track #1 on a hypothetical Charli X SOPHIE Vroom Vroom full length album to be released late 2015.
-
This bothers me too lowkey if it's just slapped onto the record. However, if it is its own release, I'd be cool with it (BTD/PE sort of vibe). What if she were to brand it as HIFN (Documentary Edition)? Disc 1 being the standard album, disc 2 being the demos, remixes, etc. My dream tracklist for a HIFN (Documentary Edition) Disc 2: 1. If I Cried 2.2Hot 3. I Hate All This Gravity 4. Breathe Out 5. Dreams 6. If I Cried (alt. mix) 7. Party 4 U (original demo) 8. Forever (demo) 9. I Finally Understand (demo w/ scrapped verse) 10. and on as remixes. I'm sorry I know we get fed with all these leaks but she really needs to make up for True Romance (deluxe). I still hold a grudge for that.

Why do I feel like she's gonna release later this year?
-
Wait, I just heard Voices Carry for the first time... I'm convinced that Sky could release an album full of covers like this and Easy and I would still stream the fuck out of it. Mastermind curator.
