I would kill for a LFL era 2.0. She didn’t post too much, but it was enough to keep us fed. I’ll never forget her listening to White Mustang and doing her makeup   Like she could do that again with Henry. 
Then that random snippet of the Cherry demo. 
 
and then Roses Bloom For You? Magical. 
 
and on top of that we were constantly fed a stream of new music. Love (which leaked early little fuckers), Lust For Life, Groupie Love, Summer Bummer, and Coachella. 
 
Like I know a lot of fans dislike LFL, but you could tell she really loved it and I’d take even a 10th of that. One snippet in almost a year, and the brief times she has talked about music she sounds so disinterested. I would have been happy if the album announcement  had included the same snippet of Henry she posted in January. Just something to affirm she’s excited about what she’s been creating

Not to veer off course, but I’ve never seen the Judah Smith interlude as an endorsement of him or his beliefs by Lana. Smith preaches about sin, redemption, and the human condition—topics Lana frequently explores in her music. Throughout the track, you can hear her laughing, sighing, and commenting, leaving it open to interpretation: Is she mocking him, agreeing, or just intrigued by what he’s saying? Lana has always been fascinated by themes of spirituality, sin, and salvation, and this interlude feels like a continuation of that exploration. Smith’s religious dogma contrasts with Lana’s sense of personal freedom, while also touching on the cult of celebrity and the commercialization of religion. As a celebrity pastor, Smith represents the intersection of spirituality and fame—two concepts Lana often delves into. Even religious figures can become obsessed with the same status and wealth they preach against.

INSIDERS: why so silent?

The title has really grown on me. It’s like she has shifted her perspective from “when’s it going to be my turn, don’t forget me” on Tunnel to “fuck it, who cares, the right person will stay”. I’m excited to see the narrative and themes on this album but so far I’m expecting a way more light hearted, stripped back, sonic soundscape. Something sunny and mostly happy which will be great for a pre-summer release. 

The cover better be swampy and it better cost a lot of coin to make.
