I saw it back in early August when it premiered over here and I literally just finished watching it for the second time, got the blu-ray for christmas but didn't have time to watch it until now haha. Goddess Charlize kicking ass and "slaying" once again

the venus fly video has way too much slo-mo visually it's very appealing but you get fed up of the slow imagines almost immediately

OLI just made my day! Earlier this month I ordered the jewelcase edition of Utopia as a christmas gift for my boyfriend, however it seems like christmas got the better of OLI since what I received this morning was another The Gate vinyl. I contacted them about an hour ago and got a reply just now with kind apologies and info that they'll ship out the correct item today, in addition to that I can keep the vinyl free of charge - which of course will end up under our christmas tree for my boyfriend since I already have one. Very good customer service!

girl go listen to True Romance or her earlier mixtapes Heartbreaks and Earthquakes and Super Ultra and fast, they're so much better than her post-TR material even though Sucker, Number 1 Angel and this new one have their few moments. Experience the best of Charli first!

are y'all fucking kidding me that the link a few pages back is missing the already released tracks which i don't have yet

When I first saw mother! about three months ago I left the cinema shocked, disgusted and kinda angry because I felt like I had just been assaulted in a way. I had read that nothing prepares you for the brutal and nightmarish hell of a climax and it's absolutely true unless you've read the complete plot beforehand. I squirmed in my seat for the last half an hour or so with my heart racing, one hand on my open mouth and one scratching the armrest. The film pulls the carpet under your feet multiple times and even though I sort of saw it coming, one particular scene - the most disturbing one - brought tears to my eyes out of pure shock and anger. "It's time to get the FUCK out of my house!", well said J-Law. However there's no denying that even then I felt like I had just witnessed something unique and remarkable, a cinematic experience I have never gone through before. I started appreciating the film as my shock wore out and here I am, obsessed and in love with the film, desperate to get it on blu-ray and to experience it once again. Gonna have to wait until January 29th for the blu-ray to come out here though I've done a lot of reading about all the possible interpretations along with the script and spent a lot of time thinking about the film and forming interpretations of my own, and that's one of the reasons why I keep going back to it in my head; there's so, so, so many ways how you can interpret it that everyone can make their own interpretations about it. Darren Aronofsky has written and directed an allegory that goes all the way to biblical proportions, metaphors to the Bible being the most obvious. Even so you can pretty much look at the film however you want; you can see it as an allegory of how women have been and are treated in society and history, how mankind treats the nature, even idolization and fan culture. I've seen a lot of films and I could say that I have yet to see a film that would leave me thinking about it months later the same way as mother! has. It's definitely a cinematic and artistic experience of its own, one that you rarely come across and deserves a watch for that reason alone, or at least because of the incredible sound design. The film's insane and uncomfortable as hell, but it's also definitely one of the most subversive films I've ever seen and an uncompromising one, how a major studio agreed on doing something like that is beyond me. Also thinking of throwing some bucks on a book about making the finale that's coming in February. Oh and spoiler alert

The video for Utopia has already premiered and can currently be seen at Kimono Roboto exhibition in Japan, and is reportedly out next week. The exhibition is free and they're also giving out free posters which are absolutely gorgeous. And here's a still from the video.

Björk in a new interview: "I want to take a little break and then maybe in spring arrive with an angle of the live album," she said in a clip you can hear below. "I think there were a few things I didn’t completely explore, like more with soloists and mysterious kind of flute playing. And I’m gonna be rehearsing with the flute players here in Iceland. I just want it to happen organically in early spring. We have some additional flute songs and some different kind of angles." Yes! I've been hoping for a Vulnicura Strings -like version of Utopia even though it's perfect as it is, and it sort of seems like my wish might just come true. Still haven't received my digipak btw, hopefully tomorrow...

My digipak was dispatched today and I can't wait to get my hands on it I was surprised how much I liked the record already on the very first listen and my love for it has grown with every single play since. The soundscape she and Arca have built is fascinating and so are the mythologies that inspired her, and the bird noises etc. are a really nice touch - at times it feels like you're almost there in her utopia; sitting on the ground near a rippling river, listening to the flutes and her singing while birds fly around and join in the music. There is "natural" flora and fauna but also somewhat fucked up, Chernobyl-like yet beautiful and unique plants and creatures, all living in harmony with each other and the nature. My favorites at the moment are (in tracklist order, once again) Arisen my senses, Utopia, Courtship, Loss, Sue me, Tabula rasa and Claimstaker - Future Forever is the only track I'm still not quite feeling but it's alright.
-
I've had the album on repeat whenever I've been able to listen to it and it's just so good Even the few tracks that I wasn't quite feeling during the first few listens are growing on me quite fast, and I have to say that Vulnicura and Homogenic - prepare yourselves because Utopia is coming for you.
-
Oh jesus christ just give her all the awards possible. Hands down a masterpiece On first listen I was the most captivated by Arisen my senses, Utopia, Body Memory, Loss and Sue me. The last two tracks felt like fillers but perhaps they'll grow on me as time goes by. Will listen again in the morning and probably for the rest of the sunday lol

I just started listening to it and the first seconds already blew me away omg queen. It's already past midnight here so I'm just listening to it in the dark with headphones and covered in soft warm blankets, all is well

Björk did a DJ mix for MixMag which is available here, and it also includes a short preview of Loss after Arca's Anoche! Edited it and uploaded it on picosong so you can listen to it here. I think I've said it before but Loss is probably the one I'm looking forward to the most so I'm loving the fact that it's continuation to Pagan Poetry in a way which is definitely one of my favorites from her. Man I'm really loving that flute intro, it sounds so good... Edit: Tabula rasa lyrics Actually laughed at "not just take it lying down" because it reminds me of this scene on Absolutely Fabulous
