    Yayo (aka) vs. Boarding School
  2. That’s my last Duchess painted on the wall, Looking as if she were alive. I call That piece a wonder, now: Fra Pandolf’s hands Worked busily a day, and there she stands. Will’t please you sit and look at her? I said “Fra Pandolf” by design, for never read Strangers like you that pictured countenance, The depth and passion of its earnest glance, But to myself they turned (since none puts by The curtain I have drawn for you, but I) And seemed as they would ask me, if they durst, How such a glance came there; so, not the first Are you to turn and ask thus. Sir, ’twas not Her husband’s presence only, called that spot Of joy into the Duchess’ cheek: perhaps Fra Pandolf chanced to say “Her mantle laps Over my lady’s wrist too much,” or “Paint Must never hope to reproduce the faint Half-flush that dies along her throat”: such stuff Was courtesy, she thought, and cause enough For calling up that spot of joy. She had A heart—how shall I say?—too soon made glad, Too easily impressed; she liked whate’er She looked on, and her looks went everywhere. Sir, ’twas all one! My favour at her breast, The dropping of the daylight in the West, The bough of cherries some officious fool Broke in the orchard for her, the white mule She rode with round the terrace—all and each Would draw from her alike the approving speech, Or blush, at least. She thanked men,—good! but thanked Somehow—I know not how—as if she ranked My gift of a nine-hundred-years-old name With anybody’s gift. Who’d stoop to blame This sort of trifling? Even had you skill In speech—(which I have not)—to make your will Quite clear to such an one, and say, “Just this Or that in you disgusts me; here you miss, Or there exceed the mark”—and if she let Herself be lessoned so, nor plainly set Her wits to yours, forsooth, and made excuse, —E’en then would be some stooping; and I choose Never to stoop. Oh sir, she smiled, no doubt, Whene’er I passed her; but who passed without Much the same smile? This grew; I gave commands; Then all smiles stopped together. There she stands As if alive. Will’t please you rise? We’ll meet The company below, then. I repeat, The Count your master’s known munificence Is ample warrant that no just pretence Of mine for dowry will be disallowed; Though his fair daughter’s self, as I avowed At starting, is my object. Nay, we’ll go Together down, sir. Notice Neptune, though, Taming a sea-horse, thought a rarity, Which Claus of Innsbruck cast in bronze for me!

One of the songs that really got me into Lana, it's still one of my very favourites. Where do I start? I love everything about it It's my favourite song lyrically, "green swimming pool, pink flamingo, high Christmas lights, blue bedspread and silver tinsel - my hearts delight" particularly that line really sets the trashy trailer Lizzy atmosphere, I love it, as well as the title itself "Trash Magic". And the simple instrumentation, I think, is perfect for the song, it's so low-key and relaxing with the vocals too, they're so heavenly And I agree, although I love the simplicity of the production I'd love to hear what Lana could do to re-vamp it
  8. Yeah, I got both of those two for ages! Especially 'coasters' and I thought maybe he was an alcoholic/drank a lot so he always smelt like beer and you put beer glasses on a coaster?

    Jake Bugg

I kinda like him, I have a soft spot for him because he comes from my town and is one of the only good things that have come from here I'm really happy for him too because I known about him for a long time (my friend's dad knows his manager or something) and he has some good songs, it's something a little fresh so I'm glad he became quite successful. + I've seen him live which was amazing!

  14. I actually love that about her, I have knock-knees so I look awkward too, good to know I can relate This is such a cute story of the day Lana and family successfully bought an electric fan!
  15. As well as Lana being the artist who stands out and influences me the most, she also opened my mind to other artists (although none of them are as good as her obviously) because she has experimented a range of styles and genres so I've also kind of opened my span to trying out different genres and since 2011 when I started listening to her, I always knew something was there because I wasn't mad about any of her songs particularly - I didn't even like Video Games but there was something about her that really drew me in and I ended up digging all her music anyway, I gave her a chance and it was so worth it because I'm usually too lazy to spare so much time to artists. Nobody comes anywhere close to Lana.

  20. There's not that many artists that have a massive unreleased discography though really, a lot of artists mainly write in the studio/don't contribute to writing their music enough to have a lot of unreleased material. And even fanbases from other artists with unreleased songs are often surprised at the amount of music Lana has, especially since quite a few are album worthy but tbh the rough demos and acoustic/acapella songs don't surprise me for an artist who has been experimenting for a few years before becoming famous.
