I love She's Not Me, great message I can relate to a LOT but I don't think she'll release that, I'm gonna say it's a brand new song.

Some great song titles. Even if it's not 100% true, who cares, I already know I'm going to be impressed.

To be honest, the people who leak the songs have no right to, but once they're out there for the public eye, the best thing a fan can do is appreciate it & Lana and not shun it because it's a leak.

I am so pleased someone's mentioned this! Yes, it's probably not nice for Lana when her songs unexpectedly leaks but although I sympathise with her, especially when people hack her, I'm not exactly going to turn down a fabulous Lana tune, am I? And as you guys have said, it's really interesting to hear how her songs have evolved from Sirens to BTD and every little detail inbetween.

I've always detected a fair amount of disingenuousness in the anti-leak dogmatism adopted lately by much of the fanbase. And I think recent events have demonstrated that. Frankly, I'm tired of hearing people spout as fact what Lana supposedly thinks or feels, especially when it comes second or third hand from sources that are questionable to begin with. As far as I know, Lana hasn't said anything on the record regarding leaks except to say that AKA is widely available online and that she is proud of it. Absent a public statement from Lana regarding leaks, I'm not going to feel bad or conflicted about listening to leaks or wanting things to leak. I'm not sure I would even with a statement. Personally, I don't feel that being a fan ever obligates one to not want to hear new music. (Posting a leak is a separate issue, however, ethically and legally.) As I've said before on another forum, the interests or artists, record companies, and fans are not the same and are often in tension and at cross-purposes with each other, and I don't think there's anything wrong with that.
 
Yes, this is why I said it was "pretty expensive" and that "I don't think Kickstarter is viable for this" and threw out the still somewhat fantastical idea that maybe a music publication would find it a worthwhile expense for an article because it was the only idea I could think of with even a modicum of practicality. At any rate, I was just surprised to find that listening to the recordings via the Copyright Office is even possible.

I've noticed many people around the web saying that they get upset when a Lana song leaks. But if that's the case, then why do people listen to them if they feel so strongly about it? I do think it's down to Lana to leak songs if she wishes, however I won't say no to a newly leaked song. It's inevitable as a musician to get that sort of thing, I guess. I also love seeing how her style continues to evolve and get better.

I agree with Hello Heaven. At the same time she gets all this publicity, deals with Jaguar & H&M, highly-successful debut album, she still is practically under the radar for mainstream media platforms. I never see Yahoo! articles about her when I check my eMail except once post-National Anthem music video release. The only web articles I ever see about her are on British music websites, LA Times, and NME from what I've seen. Like, I've always hoped that when I watch "Entertainment Tonight" or some other show like that, they bring her up and how she was signed to promote/model for this company and released this music video, etc. etc. but no, all I see is stuff about Suri Cruise and blah blah and nothing actually about Lana despite the success she has gotten. It's really weird.

Woah! Reading this interview and seeing this shoot & reading this thread has overwhelmed me.
Firstly I would like to say that I thoroughly enjoyed reading this interview. I like hearing about Lana's past, especially her problems with alcohol and drugs, it sort of gives us another piece of the puzzle that is Lana Del Rey. However, I have to say that I find every single interview that Lana does very repetitive. The interviewee always talks about the same damn thing... The hair, the lips, how beautiful she is, the success of Video Games, her music pre-BTD, her American backlash and her Hollywood style. Now, really how many times have we heard all of this bullshit? No wonder Lana comes right out with funny & random comments because she must get shit-bored of the same thing over and over again. The only thing that annoys me about Lana in interviews is the fact the she never does any promotion about her upcoming singles or anything. I know she doesn't want to sound desperate, but Lana if you don't think people are going to be listening to you next year (which you are wrong about btw because we will listen to you for our lifetimes to come) then maybe you should slip in the odd link here & there, sorry it just irritates me.
 
And as for the photoshoot... No wonder she had to get her tits out I mean seriously that journalist would have put me to sleep if he/she was interviewing me. I think the images are very nice though, and the nude ones are fun, although the one where she touches herself bothers me, but hey if Lana wants to touch her vajayjay then you go girl!

Well, she is a grown-up woman. It's not a crime for her to pose on pictures like these. I know that I wouldn't do it myself but I can't tell her how she is supposed to live her life. In general I think she looks good in these pictures. Besides, it's meant for men's magazine and not for the young fans (girls) looking at them on the Internet. Blame it all on the technology. :lol:

Yeah, this is all a fantasy. And tbh, I think I'd feel a bit sick if I listened to it because
a) the waste of money!
b) I wouldn't be able to enjoy the music - I'd be scribbling down inaccurate lyrics
c) the pressure on me afterwards would be awful. A whole Team Lana army would be shooting questions about it at me and I'd just be like... I dunno.
