I think she should just leave visuals to experts at this point… her music videos are getting worse and worse… amazing how well crafter the CB MV were in opposed to the Portals ones (with more budget) 
 
When it comes to the music, I will say the unreleased stuff was much more interesting to me than the released. The rock vibe just isn’t for her in my opinion… it was cute on Function and Evil but I think she excels more with ambient / trap production! Some of the best songs in this era being Tunnel Vision, Garden, Dragons Blood, Void (demo), Contortionist and Needle & Thread 
 
on the other hand, I don’t agree the CB persona is what went wrong with her… if done right, the concept could have been much more interesting and could go on for a couple more albums. The problem is her writting, her concepts get more and more uninspired and the lyrics are straight up cringe. An example of that is After School, she didn’t follow a character there yet it stays her worst effort to date for me

The music video is a mess and lacks logic like how she flying without her wings moving and we were on earth in some scenes? (probably for budget reasons) 
like the music video idea should have been scrapped because no cohesive story is being told and just feels like random ideas that aren't fully fleshed out
and I wouldn't be surprised if the movie was gonna be just as messy as the music videos 
 
it's very clear the budget is dwindling down with every video and I can only imagine how bad it will be once we get to WOMB (if we get there )

it wasn't terrible but it wasn't great either. i just don't think humans/technology/internet fit into this universe she tried to create at first (and this is the second video where she's using it). like i get that's the message of the song and melanie has never been subtle but at least she used to be creative with the metaphors. she could've incorporated the idea without using actual phones imo. it's too on the nose
 
i just don't get how she was supposed to make a film out of this album? there's no story, the videos are all disconnected to each other and nothing's happening in them. i also don't understand why melanie is the only non human character yet no one seems to be scared of her? wasted potential all around imo

it's been a year and a half since the album release and we only have 5 videos  what is she trying to do

i saw her live last night and it was amazing
new/revamped visuals for almost every song from what i remember of the portals tour
 
and im still thinking battle of the larynx will have the most boring video of the era considering how disconnected it is to the overall album theme 

i’m sorry but i’m starting to lose sympathy for her
its probably that she wants to work with luke and republic isn’t letting her associate with him anymore
