Songs like Heroin had comparisons to UV, but that doesn’t compare to NFR
And NFR has California which is forever being dubbed as a UV throwback
and what about it
Yeah, that's my point. The album version is terrible. Single version is far better.
-
FIILY album version is so much better. Seriously, fuck Interscope. Can she leave them already?
Lana said she chose to have surf drums featured on it. Nothing to do with Interscope.
-
I never said “compilation”. I said it has elements and that can include songwriting or the way she sings in a particular song.
But she did that for LFL as well. How come she never felt the need to repeat herself with these "elements" on BTD, UV and HM?
-
NFR is far from a compilation album and is more cohesive than LFL.
U just said NFR is a compilation of everything she has done. Therefore, can she come up with something else other than things she's already done?
-
I think NFR has element of every album she’s released. Even some of her unreleased material.
So did LFL. Can she come up with something else other than compilation albums nowadays

"i dont want to delve into politics" BITCH HOW tell me HOW actually stupid are you? commenting politics is also being a part of politics and ESPECIALLY criticizing what others do politically. its ALL politics and you're delving deep into it
i cant believe that someone with this mindset is trying to teach US something ??
Pointing out that Lana has no problem romanticizing her idols who are downright horrible people (and people like Bowie and Lou Reed were alive when she did romanticize them, not that it suddenly erases their history) but won't turn a blind eye to Kanye out of anyone else on this shit list is not political. Try again
-
Lana’s hyper fixation on Kanye is weird. That’s all.
Lana still isn't over the media dragging her for things she would say and do but finds comfort in joining the witch hunt on Kanye. For someone who complains about media crucifixion so much you would think that she wouldn't selectively choose who to have a hard on for.
-
Politics as in her distaste for Kanye's Trump support contradicting her romanticism of her other idols fuckery. Clueless
-
-
i never said it was political. you did.
I said domestic violence & pedophilia are nothing but political agendas? Where? Quote it.
-
and if YOU want to delve into politics, maybe you should get off the laptop and go do something to make a change?
I don't want to delve into politics, Lana does, and she's doing a bad job at it
Imagine simplifying domestic violence & pedophilia down to nothing but political agendas like u just did. Couldn't be me.
-
I'm going to DELETE all my Lana albums from iTunes because she did not call out the rusty corpse of some hippie singer
how DISGUSTING of her not to use her platform for igniting mass sociopolitical change and advancing my political agenda.
If she's wanting to delve into politics she will need to accept that these questions will be brought up by people. It's not a problem for her considering she only participates in pre-approved interviews nowadays, but yeah.
-
don't be scared to talk to me. i do well with bitches who think they're extra special and smarter than everyone else
The only post I quoted of urs before these two made 0 sense as u acknowledged yourself.
Anyway, I definitely do not want Jack to be a part of the next project, especially if he is the only one that produced the album version of FIILY. -
a documentary that (if im not mistaken) criticizes him quite a bit (especially for taking credit for music invented by black people)
And the song and her admiration displays the opposite.
-
she did THAT. and all you did was submit hate on here that you got laughed at for
Why do u keep trying to get my attention I've ignored like 10 of ur posts lmao
Anyway, she sure did do that.
-
u dont even act like u love her music though... like, at all
Based on my opinion on some NFR songs? And not on my praise for BTD, P, UV, HM? In that case most of this forum must hate her due to the daily LFL lashings. Make it make sense.
-
when was that interview from? like 2012? back when she was also friends with Kanye. people change, opinions change, etc.
She just submitted her song Elvis where she romanticizes him to his documentary this year.
-
Are you sure you're a Lana fan? Like, you hate her inspirations, and her references, and the sound of her music and also her production and everything. Like yeah I've hated her with a passion before but there were still songs that I totally adored and could sing to, you just seem to hate everything. What are you doing here lol
I love Lana's music and I love Elvis' music. I don't love Lana saying she wants to makeout with a pedophile and overall selectively choosing who to criticize, and with far less sins at hand than her long term idols.
-
I don't think she should be calling anyone out, but it would be cool if she at least publically acknowledged the issue before going after other people's politics.
I think if this was 2012-2014 she would at least be asked about it, but her interviews are all contrived and planned in advance now. She really only agrees to sit down with people who won't put her in a difficult position and instead ask about her favorite Gucci perfume, which is understandable, but I wouldn't place hope in hearing some kind of acknowledgement.
-
Oh yeah let's pretend Elvis and Lennon didn't exist. lol
Yeah you're right let's say we wanna make out with a pedophile like Elvis in interviews instead. Give it up
-
Since we're talking about California... is this song about Franchezko or whataver his name was?
He has a place in California so no
-
where did i say it erases anything??? im saying that there's no point in calling out a dead person's behavior in a song they're never gonna hear. i fucking hate the people lou reed and Lennon were don't get it twisted
There's no point in romanticizing them either, they're not going to hear it after all and it just makes her work look hypocritical to romanticize all these horrible people but go after the lesser of two evils to boot. Like I said, prioritize one or don't bother with the wishy-washy social commentary.
-
most of those past idols are dead and there's not a huge point in calling a dead person out
There's no huge point in romanticizing them either. Death suddenly erases domestic abuse, rape, and racism I guess. Lou Reed was alive when Brooklyn Baby was recorded, so yeah, pretty relevant."Couldn't be you", of course.Anyway, is Jack the only producer on the album version of Fuck It I Love You?

I do agree with you that it is a step in the right direction after LFL, and most artists do have slumps, so I consider it normal to say the least. But I don't think there is anything particularly new happening sonically in a majority of the songs and certainly not a lot of vocal variation going on either which, yes, can make Lana's songs pretty dull without the bridges.
