  1. Yeah, but it suits NFR as a body of work. Heroin doesn’t make sense on an album that has a song like Groupie Love or Coachella. My original point was that NFR is a step in the right direction because even though you may not like the references or elements she uses of her past work, she’s trying *some* new things (there were whole blocks of posts crying about the lack of bridges on these new songs), so it’s unfair to make the claim that she’s not doing anything new or claim it’s a compilation album like LFL when it’s not.

I do agree with you that it is a step in the right direction after LFL, and most artists do have slumps, so I consider it normal to say the least. But I don't think there is anything particularly new happening sonically in a majority of the songs and certainly not a lot of vocal variation going on either which, yes, can make Lana's songs pretty dull without the bridges.

  2. "i dont want to delve into politics" BITCH HOW tell me HOW actually stupid are you? commenting politics is also being a part of politics and ESPECIALLY criticizing what others do politically. its ALL politics and you're delving deep into it

i cant believe that someone with this mindset is trying to teach US something ??

Pointing out that Lana has no problem romanticizing her idols who are downright horrible people (and people like Bowie and Lou Reed were alive when she did romanticize them, not that it suddenly erases their history) but won't turn a blind eye to Kanye out of anyone else on this shit list is not political. Try again :rip:

  3. I'm going to DELETE all my Lana albums from iTunes because she did not call out the rusty corpse of some hippie singer  :pigrez:  how DISGUSTING of her not to use her platform for igniting mass sociopolitical change and advancing my political agenda.

If she's wanting to delve into politics she will need to accept that these questions will be brought up by people. It's not a problem for her considering she only participates in pre-approved interviews nowadays, but yeah. :rip:

  4. Are you sure you're a Lana fan? Like, you hate her inspirations, and her references, and the sound of her music and also her production and everything. Like yeah I've hated her with a passion before but there were still songs that I totally adored and could sing to, you just seem to hate everything. What are you doing here lol

I love Lana's music and I love Elvis' music. I don't love Lana saying she wants to makeout with a pedophile and overall selectively choosing who to criticize, and with far less sins at hand than her long term idols.

  5. I don't think she should be calling anyone out, but it would be cool if she at least publically acknowledged the issue before going after other people's politics.

I think if this was 2012-2014 she would at least be asked about it, but her interviews are all contrived and planned in advance now. She really only agrees to sit down with people who won't put her in a difficult position and instead ask about her favorite Gucci perfume, which is understandable, but I wouldn't place hope in hearing some kind of acknowledgement.

  6. where did i say it erases anything??? im saying that there's no point in calling out a dead person's behavior in a song they're never gonna hear. i fucking hate the people lou reed and Lennon were don't get it twisted

There's no point in romanticizing them either, they're not going to hear it after all and it just makes her work look hypocritical to romanticize all these horrible people but go after the lesser of two evils to boot. Like I said, prioritize one or don't bother with the wishy-washy social commentary.

  7. most of those past idols are dead and there's not a huge point in calling a dead person out

There's no huge point in romanticizing them either. Death suddenly erases domestic abuse, rape, and racism I guess. Lou Reed was alive when Brooklyn Baby was recorded, so yeah, pretty relevant.

    "Couldn't be you", of course.

Anyway, is Jack the only producer on the album version of Fuck It I Love You?
