Mark Ronson is long and gone (no pun intented). None of his new material sounds like Back To Black, it's very much repetitive pop music. Which is surprising because he seems to be working with Kevin Parker (btw the second coming over Christ) even their recent collabs sound a tad bland.
Mark was only good because Amy was his director. He wanted a harp section on Love Is A Losing Game and she told him to fuck off because it sounded like a Mariah Carey song to her.

“Touch me anywhere ‘cause I’m your baby
Grab my waist, don’t waste any part.”
Cute attempt at making stranger look better, though.
Yeah I know the lyric, it’s shit
How am I making it look better when both are total shit
The point was that no one should be dragging one when the other is just as trash. Cute attempt at telling people to ignore me but then quoting me anyways
-
One is clever and one is just embarrassing...not even in the same realm.
There is nothing clever about either of them, go home
-
go sit in a corner fam
I better not see anyone drag stranger than a stranger again after loving “grab my waist, don’t waste” & tired party dress/fucking mess lines just cause it’s new
-
Right? It's literally a matured Video Games
It’s an autopilot filler like White Mustang
“Grab my waist, don’t waste” & reusing party dress and fucking mess lyrics
Definitely not mature

I honestly always feel bad for ranking Born To Die below her other albums, because in 2012 it was THAT album, and I've listened an awful lot of times, it is iconic. the other two are just far superior.
HM & UV are lightyears ahead of BTD, but BTD is far more interesting than Norman’s Demos. Cinnamon Girl is a BTD reject much like Cherry was & the serial killer throwback in HIAB is just embarrassing lmaooo. All the dance and party lines on Norman’s Demos damn ma she was more lyrically creative when she was 25-26

Imagine being tasteless and enter to a NFR pre-release thread to bring down someone's opinion just because of your lack of taste.
Coachella exists on your favorite record. No lies only facts
-
1. Honeymoon
2. Ultraviolence
3. Norman Fucking Rockwell
4. Born To Die
5. L*** *** ***e
Born To Die has the title track, Video Games and Off To The Races so it prevails over Demos by default
-
You wish.
Imagine having nothing to use to defend your stance so you use a bonus track which has the same formula as most songs on Norman’s Demos...lmao
-
Boring choruses that go nowhere for the most part, mostly uninspired songs due to lack of musical & vocal variety and lack of bridges, Lana sounding dead throughout most of the record ... sounds like it.that's clownery luv
-
One of them has Guns And Roses that is even worst.
Using a bonus track, u tried. Coachella is on the standard, and Norman’s Demos have 10 GNRs.
-
y'all can't wait 3 more damn days... seriously it is so fun when we all listen for the first time and freak out on here, and now its ruined... you'll get tired of it and won't stream it as much as you would if you waited.... seriously go stream FIILY and The greatest
I beg to differ. I still stream BTD, Paradise, UV & HM daily.

how would laurel canyon fit into the song????
Lana said this record has “Laurel Canyon” sounds. Guy seems to be a resident of Laurel Canyon which is mentioned in Bartender (referring to Joni Mitchell’s “Ladies Of The Canyon”) and Canyon could be a play on “can ya” for can ya know it all.

The album version of Fuck It I Love You is terrible lmao. Did Andrew Watt & Louis Bell work on just the single version?
-
Your opinion doesn't count, remember?
Ugh glad her two best albums don’t have a Coachella on them, let alone sound like Norman’s Demos
-
-
It’s her best album, sorry sweety.
Your (now second) favorite record is Lust For Life, your opinion doesn't count

The Greatest is funny because throughout her career she has made it a point that she thinks so highly of the Beach Boys despite Mike Love being a Trump supporter but then decides to highlight only Kanye's politics in the same song. If she's going to go out of her way to prioritize other people's politics so much perhaps she should start taking a hard look at all her long term idols rather than selectively romanticizing them over others
-
Heroin is, by large, a cringefest. She sounds like a dying bird cawing on that bridge. "I'll retire Cola because I mention Harvey Weinstein's first name but here's an edgelord song namedropping the Manson family murders"
Anyway this is the NFR thread. I'm interested to hear the album in good quality in a few days. Hoping that'll help some songs stand out more.
I'm still coming back to the video for Fuck It I Love You, love those surfing scenes. Beautiful, natural and emotional. One of her best videos. Great visuals without her trying to prove anything.
-
I am confused what Lana thinks "locals only" means bc she is from NY not CA but uh we stan kween of fakeness yassss
What is ur deal
-
The video for Fuck It I Love You is gorgeous. Made me feel things. Love the ocean scenes. Reminded me of Don't Make Waves with Sharon Tate & Dave Draper mixed with the video for Road Trippin' by RHCP
-
didnt say she wasn't playing a character. just in the video she was a homeless prostitute
But in the Ride monologue she literally says "when the people I used to know found out how I had been living they asked me why" which means that she/the character CHOSE to live a more vagabond lifestyle just like many people choose to do, so how is that an issue anyways

In interviews she’s wanting to be less Lana Del Rey but in some lyrics on NFR she’s as cliche Lana Del Rey as it gets.
