I’ve just listened to this song for the first time in a while since it leaked and I’ve finally formed together my complete theory of its meaning. I believe this song is very influenced by Barrie, more specifically, his battle with depression. From Barrie’s lyrics, tweets, and dark influences I think it’s obvious that he is struggling, or at least has at some point in his life, struggled with depression.  Here’s my interpretation:

What I would really like to hear on UV is upbeat tracks (or really, anything that's not a snooze fest) with more mature themes. Picture Radio with darker vibes and deeper lyrics. That is what I'd like to hear on the new album.

hopefully not, i hope she will keep on doing the lana album pose with a different theme each time and "LANA DEL REY" in big at the top and "ULTRAVIOLENCE" at the bottom

also hopefully we will get more Blue Jeans, Lolita, This Is What Makes Us Girls and Off to the races style songs
I don;t want more National anthem style songs tho
Wouldn't mind some Summertime sadness. Also she needs some Bel Air style songs tit's nearly perfection

My favorite tracks on BTD are produced by Emile Haynie, his songs are the strongest. It's what made Lana so unique and recognizable and considering what she keeps telling everyone is the guy that manages to fulfill her visions.
Stop with the hating I don't want Black Beauty 2.0

Considering the song "For K" was on Sirens, an album that was recorded in 2005/2006, and she's only been with Barrie for a year or so, I'd say that's pretty impossible.

Oh, well I look stupid. I didn't realize that had been there for 20 days. Anyway, she posted it on Twitter today so I thought it was something new. Sorry.

Also, using this as my new unreleased cover if anyone else wants to use it

    Yay my favorite Lana song!

    Overall rating: ★★★★★

First impression: This was the first Lana song I ever heard and I thought it was a fucking brilliant masterpiece. It my second favorite song of all time, ever in existence. It's pretty much responsible for my Lana addiction.

Impression now: It still slays me every single time I hear it and I love it so much. I want to marry this song.

iTunes plays: 112, my most played

Songs I play along with it: All of the upbeat Born to Die tracks, but honestly it's just perfect by itself

What I like about it: Everything, the list could go on forever. I think the lyricism and imagery is remarkable and I am seriously transported to another place when this song comes on. Some of the rhymes are just just untoppable in my opinion. I think it is unbelievable sexy in the most Lana Del Rey-way. I love the contrast between the depth of her voice the half talking/half singing verses and the higher-pitched tone during the chorus. I adore the Lolita references. I like how it's this energy filled high-speed night on the town story and a love story all in one. I LOVE EVERYTHING ABOUT THIS SONG.

What I dislike about it: Nothing, it's a masterpiece.

Memories I associate with this song: The most glorious moment of my existence -- when I discovered Lana Del Rey. I was sitting in my mom's bathroom straightening my hair and this came on my Lykke Li Pandora station and my jaw hit the floor I was so impressed.

Colors/images that come to mind: As far as colors, I see a lot of dark blue and red/orange. In the heart of the song, the chorus, all I can see is the Sphinx statue in Las Vegas. I'm not sure, but it's just always there in my mind.

Favorite lyrics: Can I say all of them? Because seriously. I think my overall favorite line might be "you're lying with your gold chain on, cigar hanging from your lips, I said hon" part because of the way it's in sync with the beat and the sultriness of her voice is just a CLIMAX MOMENT for me. But I think some of the high-points in the song are the "Says it feels like heaven to him" bit as well as the whole "Yo, I'm off to the races, laces, leather on my waist is tight and I am falling down" verse.

Interpretation: I think it's all pretty self-explanatory. It's a song about being unconditionally in love with someone who is a bad, despite of the crimes they commit. It also has strong themes of the glamorous side of fame, beauty, and money. I don't think there's a much deeper meaning to this song but God, it's brilliant.

I think this song would do really well with the public and it's a shame more people don't know about it. I think it would help Lana out of the "boring" category the general public puts her under. This is song is anything but boring! It genuinely is, in my opinion, Lana's best song (at least lyrically). I love this song

    Overall rating: ★★★★☆
First impression: I thought her voice sounded a little weird but I loved the summery getaway vibe it gave off.
    Impression now: Still love it.
iTunes plays: 37 (relatively, my most-listened-to song has 121)
Songs I play along with it: Never Let Me Go, My Best Days, The Man I Love, Trash (Miss America), I Don’t Wanna Go
What I like about it: I like the innocence Lana portrays in the lyrics as well as the cute memories she tells the story of (going to K-Mart, etc).
What I dislike about it: Although I like that she experiments with her voice in this song, I find it just a little annoying at some points. Also, I can’t wait for the song to end after she repeats “on our way” so many times until it fades out.
Memories I associate with this song: Riding around in my boyfriend’s car with the windows down in the middle of summer.
Colors/images that come to mind: I think of warm colors, mostly a peachy-orange color and the only images that come to my mind are the homemade video (which is so cute).
Favorite lyrics: I love you more with each and every day (I say this to my boyfriend all the time).
Interpretation: I think this song was written in a time when Lana’s life had taken a turn for the good after it had been crappy for a while (relationship-wise). I think “on our way” has sort of a double meaning. Firstly, in the literal sense, that Lana and her lover are in the car and on their way somewhere, getting away from reality. Secondly, that their relationship is on its way to becoming better. I think this is supported by lines such as “you got a real good plan, my trouble’s all over now because you’re my man”. Maybe Lana was in a relationship that was falling apart and this song is written about the man she fell in love with afterward who sort of rescued her from a dark time in her life. Also, I think the “you tell me not to worry because you’re the boss” line isn't really about being submissive but is more so about trusting in this guy after being with someone who she couldn't put her trust in.

I’m really loving this song of the week thing!
