  1. While I've been following Lana since she first came out (as Lana), I wasn't really on any forums or anything for her until Born To Die had already come out, so I'll preface this statement with that. I can't honestly see her NOT having attracted fragile/broken people since the very beginning. Like, even before Ultraviolence, her lyrical content was never all that conducive to good mental health. (The Lolita complex that Lana clearly had on AKA, Born To Die, and Paradise should be evidence of that.) Additionally, I lowkey kind of feel that Lana helped to make these people broken. She made music that they used to romanticize Lolita-esque dynamics and drug addiction, etc.
  2. You're probably right, about the first part. About them wanting her to suffer, I don't think they've thought it that far ahead. I think they want her to be happy, but still sing sad songs. I feel like if people paid more attention to her previous work, they'd be able to tell we're not getting the same lyrical content as past albums again. (Like, she never revisited her May Jailer-era even when it would have benefited her)
  3. How can you relate to songs with themes that aren't particularly personal, whatever mood they are or not? I love Lana's music and I love her music this era...but that was a bad take.
  4. I think it's possible to want an Ultraviolence-style album without wanting a remake of Ultraviolence or even an album with the lyrical themes of Ultraviolence. I don't know about anyone else, but when I say I want another Ultraviolence, I mean I want Lana to work with other producers who will push her the way Dan Auerbach pushed her. Not ones who will give in to her every creative whim. If she made a completely upbeat album, but with a producer who could wring every single ounce of talent she had out of her and put it into that album, that would be an Ultraviolence 2.0, to me. Basically, an Ultraviolence followup to me is less about the content or sound of the album and more about the production that goes into it.
  5. i'm not asking for any kind of link to it but: did we ever get Architecture/Best American Record in higher quality than what had first leaked? the bitrate on it is so low...

    ALLIE X

I just got into her music! Does anyone have a masterpost of like...her unreleased stuff? And Waiting for the Prize? PM me <3
  7. Are you expecting her to perform the full version of Cherry when she performs truncated versions of most of her non-Born To Die songs?
  8. why would she say that if there is no new record?
  9. I hope people are recording the performance from the stream -__-
  10. Is anyone recording this? I'm missing it and I'm so upset -__-
  11. No. Disco album with production by Giorgio Moroder, Nile Rodgers, Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis...those kinda people.
  12. ehh. i think most of us liked the main singles. it's just that people who didn't like them are loud and annoying. the only song that genuinely seems controversial is Coachella.
  13. why does she do all that if she doesn't want us to see it?
  14. For Lana remixes, they were amazing. I'll give you that. They at least attempted to put her on beat, which is so much more than most remixes - including Cedric Gervais remixes - have done.
  15. Most of the remixes of her music are complete garbage.
  16. A G-Eazy collab would ruin Lana. Or at least be an extremely low point in her career. He's a talentless hack.
  17. Serious question: is it really getting to be as bad as people are making it sound? (I know Ben is getting it pretty hard, but are the others?)
  18. I just hope one of the collabs isn't with G-Eazy. Collaborating with that hack on one of her albums, except maybe letting him write, is the only thing that would make me unstan.
  19. Am I the only one who would want a SZA, Doja Cat, or kiiara collab?
  20. I don't want an Ultraviolence rehash per se. I found a way to describe it now: I want her to work with other producers who can push her and influence her sound. Like, Dan Auerbach made Ultraviolence a classic. I want her to work with other producers who can push that level of music out of her. Like, it would be cool if she worked with the guys from Tame Impala, or Stuart Price, or Jake Shears. I want a producer who will push her and give input, etc. I feel like some of the people she usually works with don't push her the way she could be.
  21. I lowkey think we kinda deserve the snark Ben is giving us now. There's really no reason to bug him on his personal instagram OR LEAK HIS ARTISTS' MUSIC on it... And if Lana gives us a finger, we deserve that too. x_x Though I don't even think it was aimed at us.
  22. Ultraviolence was authentic. I want an Ultraviolence-style album. Not in tone but like...in complexity(?). Complexity isn't the right word, though. Or an album with the sound of Music To Watch Boys To.
  23. I don't know about Lana specifically...but music does tend to sound better when the artist does what they want to do.
  24. The meltdown isn't as bad as I thought it would be, tbh.
