At first, I thought she was just inarticulate but now I'm pretty sure she's republican. But some will still argue she just conveniently did all these things that would code her as republican during this weird political era. And she spent a lot of time being performative woke, speaking against trump and kanye and calling them narcissists while being a huge narcissist herself. Oh man, this is...something. Lana's obsessed with the idea and title of being a poet, not the work that goes into being one. Like another user mentioned, it's the aesthetic she likes. It's the superficial layer of being a poet and what do you know, her poetry is very shallow thanks to this. I'm not against indulgent poetry but then you need to spend time crafting them to be enjoyable to read. Hers just read like she's bitching while trying to sound pretentious. No skill in word arrangement or harmony. I bet she has no idea what that even means lmao. I've read personal poetry that's made me very emotional and I rarely get moved by shit.

I mean, she's clearly chunkier but there's no cellulite or anything like that which usually means she has a layer of fat over hard muscle. She must definitely lift because this isn't a normal body, she's gotta be really working out. Her body has clear definition to it. The area at her knees is damn defined. She's cultivating mass. I like what she's written but some of it's not poetry. The 'poetry has no rules' thing gets abused by people who can't be bothered to understand all the work that goes into structure and rhyme and beats and perfect word choice and all that shit. Musings and writing aren't automatically poetry and this differentiation needs to be acknowledged. Poetry is one of those art mediums that's become completely disrespected today, I s2g. Taylor Swift did something similar, she kept adding 'darling' on sentences and it made me wanna scream b/c it felt so out of place. Anyway, now that I've whined and gate-kept poetry, Fuck the New York Post. Some of these writings feel...strangely...like modern film noir but from the POV of the doomed love interest. I think women like Lana, 'who belong to no one and everyone', always seem to get unhappy endings. Another beautiful actress comes to mind, one who get many affairs with many men but never married and is now old and no longer acting. Linoleum's background track is freaky but should've been just a tad softer.
