PopJustice interview circa May 2011: What’s your worst song? I hate ‘Telephone’. Is that terrible to say? It’s the song I have the most difficult time listening to. Because it was offered to Britney first? Well that’s not exactly what happened, but I don’t want to delve into that. I could delve into it if you turn that (motions to recorder) off… But ultimately the mix and the process of getting the production finished was very stressful for me. So when I say it’s my worst song it has nothing to do with the song, just my emotional connection to it. Okay. So which of your actual songs don’t you like? What would you listen to and think, ‘that’s pretty shit’? What would I like, skip over? Nothing on ‘The Fame Monster’. I think that’s pretty great. ‘The Fame’? I would probably skip over ‘Money Honey’.

To be fair, Brooklyn Nights never got the release it was supposed to have had by that point. The single acapella performance was simply because a fan asked for it. More noteworthy would be Summerboy, which came out on the standard edition of The Fame in 2008 and, somehow, hasn't been performed since 2007 Even Money Honey, the song she considers the most skip-worthy on that album, has been performed more than 280 times.

I see she didn't end up going with the zoomed-out cover from the mockup: Shame, I would've liked to see a scan of it.

Best Fri3nds, her revenge

That's history...

As a SUCKER defender it's very entertaining to look back and see the turmoil that album caused LanaBoards at the time of its rollout Meltdowns over Break the Rules existing, meltdowns over her removing old songs from her tour opener setlist, everyone and their mother calling her a sellout and a disappointment. Meanwhile I was just vibing, looping the record front-to-back on my cheap MP3 player

I think my streams of Queen Lizzy and London Queen outweigh my empathy for a dead monarch of similar titles The royal family can try to pry SUCKER and XCX out of these iron grip fists but they will not succeed
-
it's time for her to add a Queen Lizzy/London Queen medley to her setlists
-
maybe she'll remember it in 10 years like the Electra Heart reissue
-
Nah she was just obsessed with American imagery/culture in a similar yet different way to Lana at the time, she conceived Electra Heart (several months before Lana's major debut I might add) as a side project to exist outside of the "Marina and the Diamonds" discography, her manager said no, and here we are. Her dependency on Tumblr was unrelated to Atlantic; She did a lot of blogging on her own site during TFJ era, originally made a 'marinaandthefeminists' Tumblr page pre-Electra, then she made the 'planetfroot' page for stuff related to FROOT, and then she had 'marinabook' for her essays in between eras, all blogs utilizing visual aesthetics she liked at the time.

P.S. I switched Bel Air and SuperLove, cause that order sounds weird to me and I think it was an error on my part when typing the post Tagging cause it shows up in the quote lol

I actually don't mind those songs that much; I couldn't find a justification for Break the Rules, because Charli absolutely hates it, it's a bit childish and it's too "single-ish" to be a bonus track. London Queen and Red Balloon are a little bit too... perky? and don't fit anywhere, which is also why I ruled out certain outtakes like One Two Bamboo. Then you've got songs like Die Tonight and Caught in the Middle, which I found generic/dated and I'm sure she'd feel the same way.

80% certain I've already done this album before, but whatever Charli XCX - SUCKER Sucker Breaking Up Boom Clap SuperLove Bel Air Doing It Body of My Own Gold Coins Famous Explode NYC (The Way Out) Need Ur Luv Deluxe Edition: I'm a Dream Save You So Over You Money (That's What I Want) Japan/Target Edition: SuperLove (Demo) - "early demo" Doing It (Demo)
-
I like the idea but some songs are misplaced and I'm not a fan of including main album bonus tracks when it could be a wholy separate thing; Here's my vision, taking that into account and compiling the era-significant songs while skipping anything she sold off to another artist Dirty Ice Cream - Mix 4 Filthy Pop - Fusari Mix Sexy Ugly Vanity Fashion Glitter and Grease Rockshow - 80s Version Blueberry Kisses - Mix 5 Kandy Life Retrosexual Fooled Me Again Wonderful Future Love (Live) Christmas Tree (feat. Space Cowboy)

Lucy Liu is high camp, the effect starting around 2:13 makes her voice sound like some melodic farting and sharting.

Or until the album drops (aka indefinitely)

Sky should release something so that this thread's peak activity isn't just a lifeless insider shitting on another insider
-
Body of My Own Babygirl Femmebot Come to My Party (if only it were released) Girls Night Out Silver Cross Lightning
-
Because it's just a fan name, like XCX World and 24 Hours But anyways here's an alternate version for those people Edit: I just remembered that textless SUCKER covers existed
-
SkyFUpdates should rally for AS IF! so I can legally stream 99 Tears
-
I haven't found any covers for the punk EP that use the 'SUCKER PT 2' title, so I made one
-
It's a girls night out No boys, no boys No boys, no boys
-
Total creative control? She never would've had the knee injury because the Outrageous video wouldn't exist
-
At least she didn't release both of them, ala "Love at First Sight" (1988) and "Love at First Sight" (2001) by Kylie Minogue, or "Fashion" (2009) and "Fashion!" (2013) by Lady Gaga
