Not directly, but I think the reception to Reputation and how it damaged her relationship with radio after singles just didn't catch on the way they hoped made her realize she flew too close to the sun so she released something completely opposite (Lover) and never got to tour it due to COVID so she became more introspective and produced 2 of her best albums back to back. She realized she needed to switch something up and she did to incredible returns.

The Dolby Atmos version of TFM, while finally uncensored, is really quiet and some of the tracks are kind of a mess/sound bad. The Atmos version of ARTPOP is mostly crap too. It really works on some albums, but not those two.

Honestly, the label was right to basically scrap the entire album. What leaked sounds dated, like 2013-14 pop trends, and including Throat Goat and Treat Me Like a Slut on it like originally intended would've been a weird move. Nothing is on the caliber of Era 1 or even Clarity.
