I’m starting to think RCS is the unreleased-unleaked collection with 4-5 new songs

I think the same. Maybe they got an outtake from their previous work together and put it on RCS? I don’t recall Jack being that involved on Evermore, so I think the same is happening with RCS. Plus she did confirm that CoVID abruptly ended their work on Chemtrails: the window to work on a complete album together would have been very narrow, which they never did in the past.

If Jack is the main producer of RCS, then give me “third act of an opera” in terms of Big production (and include Dealer of course).

If June 1 is real, the masters would have been sent around Chemtrails’s release. Later than that: delays.

I’m still skeptical about Jack’s involvement or his level on involvement on RCS... Like isn’t he super busy outside of his work with Lana?!

Apparently it was asked by a fan that saw her in the last days. There are no proofs of that exchange it seems. It’s still unclear if the songs she is working on are for RCS or the next project.

Yeah he kinda missed the opportunity to ask her that (I get the vibe that he did ask her if it was still the name, like WHF becoming Chemtrails situation).

I get it! I played it all the time the first week, but play it once a day at the moment. It’s very beautiful and her most cohesive while being varied album since HM. But it’s a mood. I still go back to that Music Week interview when she says that Chemtrails is about being at a standstill and now knowing what your next move is... and it’s exactly that. I probably don’t listen to it that often because I want to move on from the present standstill of my life, with the damn pandemic

I think we need a couple of producers for this one: Jack, Rick, Zach, Dan (no matter which one). By the way, Dan Auerbach has a studio in Nashville

Did she say she was working on new songs? I didn’t read anything about that nor that June 1 was still happening... if she is still working on new songs, I was ready to forgive her to blurt out the September 5 date back in May last year, thinking she would be done with Chemtrails by that time. But this time, even the most delusional optimistic would know if a June release was possible at the end of March. And this is my problem with her: blurts out an impossible date, have us waiting anxiously at the edge of our seats, says nothing to confirm nor deny said date in between, ghosts us because we are annoying and then, months-weeks later, something official finally drops... often STILL without an album release date.

Maybe Jack isn’t the only producer of RCS? i Love both albums they did together, but RCS needs to be louder and not so stripped back. I’d be okay with a slight delay to June 1, just as long as it’s not six months.

Didn’t she say that dating him was like dating her twin? I also remember her saying he was depressed AF. I personally dated a depressed guy and it was the worst relationship of my life, so my PTSD is triggering me to say hell to the no for any kind of Lana-Barrie 2.0

It’s really not my favorite genre even though I really enjoy BUS. I trust her to release solid albums and to make new genres her own, but she still has so much alternative avenues she could go on, that country, after folky stuff, is a bit too much, maybe?

I think the country album with Nikki was recorded somewhere alongside the American Standards one (which has folk and country covers). The covers led to new songs I think. It seems like she has three unfinished albums at the moment, not counting RCS (if it is indeed a separate project)

I don’t think this album and RCS are the same. I’m okay with a country album if she pulls something very different between Chemtrails and the Nikki one.

The top 10 makes a lot of sense: they all are songs that stand out and were critic darlings. Of course, if someone ranks all songs and there cant be ties, it’s going to have some questionable places for some songs. Personally, I love Religion, but if I was to rank all of her discography, it would end up probably around 35-40? I love that White Dress is number 9: it is such a mood and unusually raw.

Venice Bitch never was about her lyrics but her musical structure, which is very innovative in her discography. Even though I love Shades of Cool.

It’s always possible. if June 1 isn’t happening, well that would be a new level of trolling. To announce that date when it is coming so fast (and at this point, she knows if it will be ready on said date or not) would be very dumb.

I surprisingly liked BUS very much and if that album sounds not too country, I think I’ll like it. Maybe not just right after Chemtrails though. I need an album in-between that is not folk nor country.

Okay, now where are the Reddit insiders that supposedly got their hands on RCS, so we can finally know what genres it will be?

She confirmed in Rolling Stone that the songs she wrote with Lana have a good chance of coming out at some point. From that interview, she didn’t hint at all that a plan was all maped out. Maybe she was lying, but it gave me hope that Chemtrails’s follow up shouldn’t be Country (after two minimal albums, we need a change of pace).

I am not against a country album. But just not RCS.
