With a title like Let Me Love You Like a Woman (which should make the cut), I get the singer-songwriter vibe of NFR and it should have that feel also. The «From Here From Eternity» clip she posted on Saturday, if related at all the album's aesthetics, gives me some old Hollywood tragic love stories vibes and I am fucking living for those, as «out of time» or «dated» as they are. Welcome to hell, my sweet summer child It's honestly very intense, but also soooooo nice when you can share your many thoughts on a coming record or single. But when you are trapped somewhere and don'T have the time to comment, it's A FUCKING LOT when you come back lol.

If there's a single... In June or July, maybe? or we won't get any before Sept 4-5 (i'm fine with both). About the chemtrails: well, it's mostly conspiracy theory until proven otherwise. It could be true, but to go with scientific reasoning (or skeptic reasoning) is wanting to have many valid, solid, confirmed proofs of a phenomenon's existence before accepting it as fact. The big problem I have with conspiracy theorists is that most of their arguments don't have a lot of confirmations and are mostly about finding the facts that backup a theory, rather than considering all the facts before claiming something big. Anyways, I won't go any further. I wouldn't want another «off topic» warning point

Not necessarily. Is Mariners Apartment Complex about real estate? I keep in mind that the «insider» interviewed a couple of months ago said she was writing a lot about heartache and wanting to be in love. It could be as well. Something like: «we walked to the country club, and you left me there, with chemtrails in the sky».

Agree to disagree on that one. I am in the “pro-Jack camp” mainly because he won me over with his versatility when Mariners and Venice came out. His main quality is : “You lead the show, I will bring my talent to back it up”. Love that Masseduction (love love) doesn’t sound like NFR or Melodrama (liked) or Taylor’s albums (not a big fan of pure pop).

There are going to be “end of the world vibes” on that one, I can feel it (@ la the greatest). Plus isn’t it how we all feel at the moment, like we all have our comfortable lives but they’re all shook to the core? And the country club, though still existent today, really are something out of the 50s-60s. I love that woman and her references to the past.

Don’t know yet what chemtrails are for sure, but it’s a punchier title than WHF. Love the title for a song, but after NFR’s sass, we needed a better and punchier title, which it is. There is a sense of “danger” in the title, which we all feel at the moment (though not caused by “evil governments wanting to dispose of poisonous wastes in the atmosphere” - I just looked up what chemtrails were ans their conspiracy theorists’ allusion).

Agree with you on the teasing of the second book. It’s a superb poem for sure, but it kinda confused me: I thought Violet would be audio and Iron Gates would be released on written form?!? Will Violet and Iron Gates be released together on audio form, as a double feature, with physical copies later on?!? I am really looking forward for the audio book now... I love the subtle music in the background.

These spoken poems with music do give me strong Greenwich Village in the 60s kinda vibe. Poetry night, Beatnik generation... I always loved her homage to the past, and this project is no exception.

Woah just fucking woah

Erika Lee Sears (who painted the cover to Vioket) just posted the perfect summarize to the whole debacle about Lana’s recent antics in her Insta stories. This is how I feel about her.

If WHF is anywhere in that vein of THAT IG post, I am so here for it. I looovvvveeee Old Hollywood.

I so fucking agree. I was proud of her Grammy noms because I saw it as a way to be recognized by the same industry that punched her in 2012. But honestly, to see NFR get the same treatment as Lemonade just confirms how irrelevant the Grammy are. No, having a 19 year-old winning everything, as talented as she is and no matter how good her album was, is no proof of relevance. Anyways, I decided years ago that I love what I love, no matter how popular or not that thing is.

I love UV, it’s one of her best ones ever and sure did break the “curse of the second album when the first one was so successful”. I love how guitars add up to her cynicism. However, I don’t see working with Dan possible anymore or very likely for two reasons: 1- there have been tensions between the two of them, some misunderstanding while working on some songs. Nothing that they couldn’t get over, at the end of the day, but still. Jack and Rick really seem to be “yes men”, in a way, and she probably will go work with whoever she feels will be easy to work with (boss around?!?) 2- he did reach for her, to produce a song or two, when she was making HM, but she turned him down because it was not the aesthetics of the record. I don’t know Much about Dan Auerbach, but that would seriously compromise my will to work with the girl. I’d love to have more rock influences on one of her records and Dan did contribute to a lot to UV, but I’m telling myself it’s a “once-in-a-lifetime” album.

Just posted something similar in the WHF thread, but maybe she’ll drop a single next week to make us forget, same way she dropped Mariners and Venice just a week or two after her “Middle East debacle” (I wouldn’t mind no single at all: I still love NFR so much).

It’s true for the zodiac signs influence... It could come up in a couple of songs, maybe? As for a lead single... Maybe? Or the “surprise release” could mean no single before the album? I like that it’s almost the normal order this time around (if things don’t get fucked up): release date, possible single (even if pretty much all artists release a lead then announce LP’s date and artwork).

Ah! The drama!!! It’s half the fun of being a Lana Stan!!!!
