  1. I was thinking the same. California fits NFR too much, while Thunder and Loaded have that « English touch » that California doesn’t have at all.
  2. Her recents selfies have been pretty stunning, very «natural-looking». As for the «fat consideration or factor», I'm curious to see how everyone will deal in their 30s... Because, spoiler alert, as time goes by, we get bloated easier in our 30s and alter on, and it's easier to put on weight. Not that I say she does, I don't know, I ain't a living scale. But most importantly: who fucking cares? is that all there is to the woman? Sure, I do love when she's all dolled-up and glam for a premiere or a music video, she is pretty much always stunning, but she is also a everyday woman, with ups and downs. And anyways, do we really want a singer that spends 5 hours a day training, sacrificing her art? I didn't think so
  3. That book is incredible and shocking. It always was. Oprah once described child abuse as being more « child seduction » than abuse (don’t get me wrong: it is abuse, but the way the events set in, it’s a seduction game with a minor). There are many conflicting ideas going through the kid’s head because of that. That novel does the best job at describing how that situation can happen. That novel has always been scandalous; I love it’s brutal honesty (though not very graphic on all the physical acts- thank God). To be fair, I don’t even think she was that young when she started going out with older men... but who knows? I always saw the lyrics of the songs when she fucks older men to be mostly ironic and exaggerated (same as « he hit me and it felt like a kiss »). But outside her fan base, many don’t get that second-degree to her songs.
  4. I like the mystery of insiders, but I must say that the NFR era did it for me. Still love that album to pieces, but the «insiders» got my hopes up and brought expectations that didn't come through. I guess I prefer no news or official ones to bullshit. The only one I trust is Eclipse and he never knows anything many days in advance, so it's perfect (no, I don't want to stir up the pot and start the debate again on him; it's simply my opinion).
  5. I've been relistening to AKA this morning and, in a way, it feels like NFR is its little sister, to the album closer to it. It's the same Lana, in a way, only she is younger on AKA and older on NFR, but she is still in the same state: just in the middle between good and bad, between wanting what's best for her and complying to self-destructive boyfriends or situations. It's specially true on Gramma. So, in a way, the whole story of her discography is «Good girl gone bad»: She's right in the middle on AKA, and it gets further down until UV. HM has her still being in the end of the rope, but with hints of hope; LFL is the threshold... and she lands, with NFR, somewhere in the middle of good and evil, with just a bit more experiences, and owning who she is.
  6. I always love her covers, but initially, there was no cover intended for NFR... Maybe the same will happen for COCC.
  7. Thanks for your reasons. I’ll leave it at that. It would turn into a never ending debacle if I went on, which comes down, in the end, to loving who you love, which anyone is free to do. In my eyes, though, for each reason you’ve given, I can always think of another artist that I love best that suits better. I guess she’s just not for me, and I felt that for her since day one.
  8. Lana’s best covers are from this era, really, or of alternative songs. My dream cover from her would be « Summer Wind », by Sinatra, but with a dark twist to it, à la 13 Beaches, and a minimal production à la Heroin. Yeah, I know everyone considers Britney iconic, but I don’t get it. She’s always been overrated to me. Anyways, I won’t go on any longer, since this is off topic : I know I’m the weird one about Britney and don’t get the adoration. I’ve Heard many reasons why she is considered iconic AF, and though they « make sense », I don’t relate to her, and feel mostly sad because she got exploited so much by music execs in the past. But everyone is entitled to love her, I call this agree to disagree
  9. Sorry if I came out strong. I got the Piece of Me part of the joke... it really wasn’t against you, I really don’t like Britney and my comment could have applied to anyone suggesting Lana and Britney in whatever form lol. Sorry if I was rude, no harm intended, and nothing personal.
  10. I really don’t get the adoration Britney gets, even if I’m gay. Sure, she had good pop songs... which she didn’t write for many of them. And I find her voice horrendous. So, no, thank you, keep your Britney cover, I don’t want it.
  11. We’ve been far more gentle with him than with other « insiders » of the past.
  12. Apparently, we just « stoned » an « insider » who was serving us tea about COCC. Sorry, ladies, I prefer to believe good-old fortune tellers rather than so-called insiders. One of them was an image of what the cover is supposed to look like. You can still find it in some of our replies. That and we were too rough on him and he only wanted to contribute/be a part of this community.
  13. Everybody is more than welcomed here. But don’t hold it against us if we’re skeptical. If what you say is true, come and rub it in ours faces when official announcements validate what you say: you’ll clearly be the most popular member here hehe.
  14. Ok. I’m keeping in mind this cover and the future backlash on Sept 4, to see if they check out. Sorry, buddy, but so many have played the « insider » card over the years that I don’t believe anyone anymore.
  15. So, you are this era’s insider?
  16. Nobody knows for sure. It’s probably a glitch. Same happened with her albums (and Taylor’s) in the NFR pre-release era. We thought back then it was because NFR was coming lolll.
  17. Doesn’t it happen once in a while? Like some glitch... Same happened last year with her albums and Taylor’s. It came back a few days later. We thought it meant NFR was coming when there were no news of the damn thing.
  18. Wasn’t there also a rumoured Drake collab? I don’t believe these unless I see receipts.
  19. I have no expectations for the cover except, well, chemtrails in a blue sky and her on it (even that, I’m flexible). Other than that, I’ll let myself be surprised
  20. I still can’t believe it’s literally written NFR! on all copies (except the uncensored ones sold by Universal and the UO special edition ) after a year of writing it down here. LDR - COCC on the cover would be so cringy.
  21. Hey Blue Baby brings something we don’t hear often from her and it’s a faster beat. Plus I like how the chorus sounds. Stupid For Being Happy is a bit more bland to me, but with proper production, it could be a real grower. Length is something, width is another...
  22. Hey Blue Baby could be a great opener to COCC because it would mirror NFR’s opener with the line « You’re making me blue »/ « You make me blue ». Of course, nobody has a fucking clue of the sound of COCC, but at the moment, I like that idea.
  23. I’m with you on that one. Her precise dates come through. There is the Jan 4 release date of Violet... but was it an Interscope related project at that moment? She described it as « rough and unpolished » (or something like that)... and now we know Jack is involved: she clearly reworked the damn thing and maybe brought Interscope on board as well.
  24. Well, HM didn't have its first lead before August for a Sept 18-19 release... (okay, she teased the title track in June and it was on her YouTube channel in July). I'm not sure we're getting a single with COCC. To me, this is her version of a «surprise» release: we're heard nothing of the damn thing before it's out. If we do get one, somewhere in July? At the moment, and for a couple of weeks still, i don't see new music being released by a US artist being a good strategy (imagine if she wanted White Hot Forever to be the lead because it sounds summery )
  25. Well with almost a year of pre-release, it went everywhere and there were a lot of back and forth on everything. I thought BAR was buried and dead and that Yosemite had a better chance. However, two of my predictions happened : all the songs she teased with a snippet ended up On NFR and that there would only be a couple of songs (like 2 or 3) that are like VB (Namely CG and FIILY). Other than that, someone predicted the green vinyl, the BAR lovers were right (but ultimately deceived with the final song)... Did someone predict Doin Time would end up on NFR? The vast majority didn’t think so... There was also the fear that the cover would be a selfie or a ugly ass picture by Chuck (I personally love the cover and didn’t think it would be that « finished »).
