I wasn’t so sure about the veil, but seeing it was inspired by a McQueen gown, I get the Vision now -

What a stunning look!!! One of her best for sure! -
Still wondering how BoZ feels about this album Not a bad album, but this is, to me, her Solar Power: the summer vibes are bit off, it never compares to the album prior and it should have been an EP.
-
It’s a weird rollout indeed. Singles Very spaced-out, a short album in the end…
-
Saw an insider account mention it yesterday. I think there is some sort of countdown on her website? one of the deluxe track would be a Katy Perry collab according to them don’t know how reliable this info is tbh, but a deluxe is surely on the way.
-
Rumour has it that the deluxe is being released today 👀

I wonder how BoZ feels about this album not a bad album, cute summer fling kinda of vibes, but clearly not FN level of pop genius. we already knew Kevin Parker’s involvement would not be super proéminent in the sound of the sound based on the singles, and the rest of the album confirms it. Which is a shame because many tracks could have had an outro that would have elevated them and have had Kevin’s signature. but the biggest flaw of this album might be that out of 11 tracks, two feel unnecessary. I mean come on!

I think people here forget how manic we become when she officially announces an album… and it’s coming out in like 5-6 months Cigarettes After Sex got their preorder and first single out in February for a July 12 release; we got the second single 10 days ago. Although both singles are amazing, even though this spring is packed with major releases, I can’t help but feel CAS’s pre-release is dragging on… Same would happen with Lana. i mean, OB era, which was one of the shortest pre-release eras ever: we pressed Kintsugi and BoZ for every crumble of detail and as far as I can tell, neither of them is anywhere in sight for info this time around, which would make a very dry pre-release era… My wish is for something like Billie did but with singles: announcement and preorder for a short pre-release, one single or two before the album, 2-3 months max.

Big hug to you, sweetie! i just hope for you that she doesn’t include « Stand By Your Man » on Lasso though…
-
Many of her live appearances or live performances don’t normally « stick with me » or are as memorable as they are for many of you (so sorry I might be a robot hahaha). But this one performance of Unchained Melody, the energy from the photos, her look, I mean She looked like she’s been brought back from the 60s, very June Carter. This might be the first « country » glimpse that I’m really excited about (I never cared for her country fests performances or attendance, reminds me too much of my small town childhood festivals , but that one felt really special)
-
I really love her Unchained Melody cover and I do hope there is a recorded take of it that she’ll release, but maybe not on Lasso? I usually love her covers, but unless they really fit the album and cant imagine the album without them, they should be standalone singles
-
Incredible album that I didn’t see coming. Sounds very fresh. Love the concept.

To me, a « Lana bop » is a song that could get radio airplay, with some chill beats, or that could please her fans because it contains somewhat some of the « old Lana ». Agree with you that Peppers is a bop, TJF is kinda one (sure is underrated with the GP), but to me, the « bop » (very loosely here) on BB might be Dealer: not that it’s a light song, but the lyrics are very UV. Say Yes to Heaven is a nice pop song and bop-ish too. But my fave Lana bops are her summery tracks with a memorable melody and we need one of those

She needs another Doin’ Time

I have no problem with Jack working with Lana so far. They do bring another vibe to the songs they’re doing together that is unmatched with his other girlies. NFR, Violet and OB have incredible gems (OB had the genius concept of having piano samples - which aren’t always Jack’s best suite IMO - and build production around it, which made the tracks so rich and complex). I still love Chemtrails even if some songs do sound like a couple of Lorde tracks… So, as long as Lana’s ideas aren’t anything like what the other girlies are doing, I’m on board with Jack being a producer.
-
Yeah, it can’t be a Jack-only album: Taylor got him working 24-7 on all of her albums til his last fucking breath, no matter how uninspiring the songs may sound like
-
I really dont care about her hair colour or how it could / should affect the era’s album covers
-
It was, it’s from her Rolling Stone magazine cover story. She doesn’t hold anything back in this interview. more interesting to me though: Skinny is What Was I Made For’s little sister apparently and Rolling Stone calls her new album the best yet she put out 👀
-
For once, I am in no hurry for the era to start this early Many of my favourite artists are releasing up to July, and I want Lasso to be a bigger era, so the first songs of it need to be released at a time when they’ll be able to shine (and at a time I’ll be able to enjoy them).
-
I want to believe it could be for Lana (I really love those), but we’ve been deceived how many times already?
-
TTPD (anthology or not) is really not my fave from her and although I agree with many points made by them, I would have given it 7.5. Its a bit of a low score.

Indio, CA @ Coachella: Weekend 2 - April 19th, 2024

I really like this interpretation. Not that she she necessarily has a clear vision of things to come for her next albums, but there is a sorta pattern so far, in her discography: she has two major landmarks, two albums that defined the American culture or read that said culture : Born to Die and Norman Fucking Rockwell. Norman was preceded by the «transition album », an album for her troubled times. Ocean Blvd is also a transition album, one that helped her grieve. See where I’m going with this? Lasso could be her third Best American Record. -

Camila and Lana singing I luv it? I never saw that one coming Sometimes the songs she decides to cover (no tea no shade, I just don’t like that song) -
Coachella wasn’t the place to officially launch the era. Coachella was Coachella and not some stepping stone to an album We’re still too far from the supposed September release (if it’s not postponed). Sometimes this forum forgets how patient we become when an era officially begins . She can delay the first single to have a shorter pre-release of three or four months. as for Henry and her announcement at that industry event, some of us mentioned it was probably a strategic move, so she wouldn’t look as a Beyoncé copycat or of any other artist going country if she had said nothing but released a country album in the fall.
