Tuesday, with all the news, I was about to explode and LB was on fire with comment. On Wednesday, I knew that nothing else had happened when I saw us going at each other's throats again.

Billboard and Rolling Stone confirmed the song would be out this Friday with the movie.

People never learn indeed. The first Cinnamon Girl snippet had so many thinking it was boring. Only one or two noticed the beat in the distance. If you listen to FIILY snippet, There’s guitar coming at the end.

Honeymoon is a mood, I guess. It's mellow, laid-back, melancholic. She sounds so aerial on that one. It's her most «Old Hollywood» record to date, which I love, and it also has a lot of «Mediterranean charm» to it as well. There are so many wow moments that hit you after a couple of times. it is also her most perfect record to listen to when you are working on something else (computer, homework, writing): it puts you in a transe. Her voice is so superb. And I love that it's like nothing that is out there. Listening to UV, it felt as if I had found a lost end-of-sixties vinyl by an unknown singer; with HM, it was as if I had found a 40's-or-50's-diva-starlet vinyl.

Isn’t it a bit early to judge the production of the songs based on 30-second snippets? Again, nobody predicted the guitar and synth explosion coming from VB based on the snippet Lana posted in the first place. Hope is stripped back a lot, but it closes the album and doesn’t need anything else in my opinion to be more poignant.

And let’s not forget the most surprising thing ever: a political song that is as charming as her other songs. Now That’s nothing short of a miracle.

I am honestly a bit surprised that there is so much production on all the songs after having heard the snippets... Not that I am complaining at all, but HIAB and Hope are the only two that are «just piano» (and I love that they are the closer tracks). I was expecting a minimalist production on a couple more, but it's not the case. About TNBAR... I was concerned too about the new lines added, but they work. I've said 50 pages ago, but TNBAR will probably have two choruses: the first one in the snippet and the one we know will probably be the second one. As long as she keeps the intro guitar followed by «My baby used to dance underneath my architecture...»: this is one of her best lyrics ever and her voice si so damn sexy.

A hiatus will happen at some time, I guess. If she ever gets pregnant, the flow of music surely will die down. Other than that, we'll always have new Lana stuff: it might not always be music (she'll maybe write poetry again), but there will always be some form of Lana. Anyways, I'm sure she'll tease a song next January for a 2021 record lol

She doesn't like bonus tracks to an album. She always felt «forced» to put out deluxe editions for the record company. I don't expect deluxe versions of her albums anymore, honestly. Japan has the deluxe iTunes version of UV with Flipside and it always pissed me off. Why is that country the only one that has that song for legal download / streaming?

I liked her collabs on LFL because the other voice brought a new «depth» to songs that might have been a bit meh without them. But with NFR, the melodies and lyrics are strong enough, we don't need another singer on those.

It reminds me very much of the bridge of Hey Blue Baby also.

Maybe we heard the new first chorus and the second one will be the one we know?

If you don't want to cave in, there's still Season of the Witch coming out this Friday. a new single from NFR is possible before the 30th (HIAB? FIILY?) Maybe she'll rush release Looking for America before NFR. And we'll see if the Taylor collab rumor for her album is true. So, possibly 4 new songs in 24 days. Not too shabby.

I'm gonna add Looking for America as the closer to NFR. It's just so pure. Honestly, this part of the NFR era is what LFL was aiming to be, in all the right dosages: BAR, acoustic, witchy song, peace-oriented song, and the rawness of the emotions.

I had big concerns about Doin' Time being on NFR and the cohesiveness of it... But now, it makes sense.

I think they were sister tracks because they were both acoustic (at least, at the beginning of BAR). Lyrically, on BAR, she was «at peace» with that relationship that had ended and on Yosemite, the way she described it, she is falling in love peacefully. so, BAR was «old relationship over» and Yos is «new happy relationship».

I just hope she didn't change the whole thing though. I don't think so, but... Maybe she rewrote parts of the song as if she was still living them at the moment? BAR always had a «distance» in the story; ti have her say she wants to party while making the record si more «present-tense».

All the snippets are growing on me, honestly. I wasn't sure at first of the transition of Love Song, from what we had heard, but it's working. Bartender still is my fave right now. The Greatest is the most vintage one. God, there's still a witchy song coming Friday and looking for America that could be out soon!!!

I never thought Hope could be the closer. But it kinda makes sense. It will have so much more impact, to end the album, with those high notes, end with hope.

anyone heard the guitars at the end of the FIILY snippet? Reminds me of West Coast.
