HTD, on vinyl, sounds better. The production isn't perfect, as we all know, but the jingle bells and beats are a bit more discreet. -

I agree with you that this era feels so special and visuals are an excellent complement to the album. The NFR era is like a crossover of BTD and Paradise when it comes to the number of videos we're getting. Hope the October videos are good though. Rich Lee kinda put the bar high when it comes to visuals, honestly. -

Kinda feels weird to admit it, but HTD grew on me and is not an awful mess anymore. also, I love that she has shit taste in men, if only for the songs created afterwards -

Anyone is a bit worried about her recent overjoy and the number of projects she plans on releasing within a year? A MV for each song of NFR (Including something that is like a Monet painting for Love Song, which must take a shitload of time to animate), a light tour, a new album and other projects she didn't talk about... Call me a party destroyer, but if she sticks to the plans, there's no way we're getting WHF within 12 months. I learned my lesson with NFR. -

She really is open on the creation of that album. We now know the order of the creation of the songs and she is basically giving us the guys « responsible » for each song. -

You all want her to get back with him so much lol Well, California is pretty much confirmed to be about him and BAR always felt about him, but maybe she changed the lyrics because there’s no hard feelings anymore? (Like she now owns she was as obsessed as him about the BAR? I always saw a smirk and detachment to the orignal version, but the POV is changed with the new version) -
I’m super curious for the new project to come, but I honestly can’t put myself in another NFR everlasting pre-release period. I kinda wish she will ignore the questions regarding it (and I’ll completely lose my shit if she mentions anything lol)

Indeed. It’s way too early lol

Anyone else is seeing tomorrow’s livestream with Jack as « we are recording for White Hot Forever »?

Love Song truly feels like a Video Games 2.0 <3

There are so many lyrics that just are so damn emotional. Maybe not her best lyrics, but lines that just hit hard... «I would like to think that will stick around» in Love Song «If this is it, I'm signing off» «You're brighter than the brightest star» «I'm hearing one thing now I'm hearing another» -

Enjoy! Someone mentioned it could almost be like an Easter egg... -
Who knows with her? She has always been shit with the time things take to make, plus she seems committed to a lot of other projects... Before 18 months, I don’t see it, honestly. I love she said it was probably a surprise release, so hopefully no more snippet teasing of demos a thousand years before release.

My rating of the songs after a couple of days: Perfect 10: VB, NFR, California, HIaB, the Greatest. Instant classics, perfect voice, perfect emotions, all climaxes on the album. Gets a 9: MAC, FIILY, Bartender, Doin Time, Love Song, Cinnamon Girl, TNBAR: they all are near perfect and I can’t skip them. Even the new lines of TNBAR grew on me. The song is even more « tragic » in a sense. Gets a 8: Hope Is a Dangerous Thing. Love the lyrics, perfect closer, but it’s such an intimate song and the most « mood song » of the album that you have to be in a peculiar state of mind to listen to it. Between 5 and 8: HTD. Some of her best lyrics, one of the best melodies, the last part of the song is the most « cohesive » I guess. The production is a choice lol. Sometimes, I don’t hate it, sometimes I can help but slip it. I see that track as wanting to go camp (sure hope it was that intention), like a old crooner song you add beats to. -

3 ways to immediately improve HTD: - bring back the piano; - get rid of the jingle bells; - have her repeat « I’m always gonna be right here, no one’s going anywhere » When she said « surprise release » with WHF, i immediately hoped we would get nothing before the album. I didn’t mind the snippets (thought they had me expecting the album to come way sooner), except the HTD one. Why tease the demo when the result is drastically different from the original?? -

About HTD and TNBAR... HTD doesn’t sound that bad, except for the jingle bells. TNBAR sounds good with the new lyrics. The only line that feels forced is « something new I Wan-teddd! » -

The outro to Cinnamon Girl is really mastered for the streaming platforms, I think. My first listen was with the leak from the CD rip and it sounded all over the place, but it’s perfectly balanced on Apple Music / iTunes. What a great fucking song! -
