  1. My 2-cents on the whole "I hate her friends". 1- we don't know any of them, except form what we are shown on social media, which is very limited. 2- what can we do about it? it's not up to us to do anything, just like her choice in men. We can disagree, we can have bad feelings, but I really don't think they have much to do with her behavior. She seems to spend a good time with them and I hope they make her happy. She's almost 34, she must know what she is doing when it comes to friendship at least. And I don't think that they distract her from her work.
  2. I honestly don't know what to think anymore, about the release of motherfucking NFR. Soonest would be what I wish for... It would be a cute Spring album. Summer? Not so much. Honestly, in February or early March, it would have been perfect. It's a really quiet album from what we heard... and a lot of big-produced singles by other artists are on their way. Whenever she releases it at this point, it's gonna get a bit lost, I think.
  3. I don’t see it as a way of getting back at us, but her stuff is secure now and it sure gives her all the luxury to take her sweet time... One of the girls has a Lana-ish look and guest judge Adam Rippon asks her: « Lana Del Rey, when is your album coming out? Soon? » XD
  4. I agree. Love the snippet, but I want more confirmations of the damn thing.
  5. Disclaimer: this post will not be appreciated by all. The piano ballads we heard so far showcase her voice, her emotion, and the strong storytelling of the songs. I don't mind "heavier production", but the storytelling was a bit lost on some of her songs. I have in mind a couple of BTD tracks, that had stellar lyrics, but took many listens to discover, because the production kinda "muffled" them (Off To the Races, National Anthem come to mind). On NFR, even a short snippet in super low quality showcases the emotions of the song. I am impressed by this record so far.
  6. Just a thought... I always thought MAC would open the album or be number 2, with its beautiful intro. But while listening to it this morning, I thought: what if the line « are you ready for it? » opens up the more guitar / synth songs of NFR, therefore putting MAC in the middle of the album?
  7. The snippet is perfect in itself : it’s just that our hopes for this LP are through the roof and she might have reached a point where no one is satisfied anymore. The main complain is that it is another piano ballad and people want guitars (but didn’t she say that it had A BIT of surf elements / RHCP influences? Like not on a lot of songs?)
  8. It feels NFR will be HM 2.0 with what we heard: many slow songs, but a bit more on the « raw / demo » side. And like HM, an album that will be more appreciated with time and after many listens. And the couple of songs with more guitars / synths will have a UV flair to them.
  9. Gotta give it to you: she ain’t the most alive person on Earth in this.
  10. Could the snippet she posted today be the same song Chuck (?) posted in her story back in May? June? last year? Her voice sounds similar.
  11. Give it time. I remember a much «optimistic» time when most people here were in love with VB and now, it's pretty much 50-50. I'm sure someone else will not like it that much. Like Cherry. Everyone was raving about it and yet, two months after LFL's release, I read here that it had «aged like milk».
  12. Love the new snippet, but with this era, snippets are the equivalent of a dick pic every week when you want the whole deed.
  13. You’re totally right. VB’s snippet wasn’t letting on much of its guitars. Plus when UV’s and LFL’s « album samplers » (made of 30-second snippets of all the songs of the record) acme out, I didnt really get « hooked ». A 30-second preview of a Lana song is often disappointing. Her songs are mostly Slow burners.
  14. Didn’t she say at one of her shows, or to fans after it. that it was in the same vein as Change?
  15. At this point, I only expect 4 songs total with beats / surf influences. Including VB and Cinnamon. I don't expect much with guitars / synths for this record. Like 4 songs max. Including VB and Cinnamon. She did say it was introspective shit, old L.A. and that the production was in the vein of Change.
  16. Fuuuuccckkkkk! I am just beginning not to obsess over the damn album!!! She always gets me back in!
  17. Because: 1- she felt like sharing her beautiful song, not realizing we would be craving for the whole thing the minute it was teased; 2- she’s shit at guessing how long something takes to make and she thought the album would be done in the near future of the post, probably.
  18. At this point, the best way to not lose your sanity is to convince yourself that NFR is coming out in August or September, no matter how perfect In Your Car or Cinnamon are, no matter how much HIaB would be perfect this time of year, no matter how early she started teasing this fucking era. It pains me to have to come to this, but I expect the next posts to be about her poetry book. NFR is shaping up to be a masterpiece, served to us in a promotion catastrophe.
  19. She’s also shitty at figuring out how long things take to be made. But I agree with you that she says so much that doesn’t come through.
  20. No. She can’t if she wants to have Jack as a producer for the album (he’s probably doing something else already). She said she loves the tracks she did with Jack, said she had a lot of fun making them. Scrapping everything doesn’t make any sense. Something else is stalling NFR.
  21. I am not craving so much for demos or songs we didn’t hear a snippet of. Sure, Wild One intrigues me. But the song I am dying to hear in full is The Good Life. Now THAT is pure UV vibe.
  22. So we've come to the point where we criticize the choruses of all previous eras, huh?
  23. Could be another reason why she takes her sweet time with NFR: her stuff is finally « safe » and she has the luxury of doing it at her own time.
