  1. 21 is once-in-a-career album. Just like UV was. 21 was Adele's breakup album, which is why we hear so much of the ache and soul into it. Same with Amy Winehouse's Back to Black. Our girl has the talent to come up with something that could beas genius and yet different as 21.
  2. It’s a strong possibility. I have been sure for the last couple of days it was Interscope’s fault... Now? Not so sure. At this point, I don’t know who to blame anymore for the long-ass wait. I’m even surprised that she mentioned the album at all, after the tweet. June would be very nice. I don’t see NFR in July, maybe because it sounds too different from LFL. And August and September are way too far in time. But who knows anything at this point? We get many contradictory messages when we do get any.
  3. Adele pleases to a much larger crowd (teenagers to adults). She breaks records (partly because most of her fan base still buys physical CDs). Lana is Lana, she curses and has her own vision. And her demographics are smaller (teenagers to young adults). I loved Adele’s first albums. Heartbreak soothes her. But 25?!? Jesus! How can a bitch sound so old at 25?! She complains about the times passing, about missing her friends and all. Call your nanny, bitch, and go get drunk, you’ll feel young again, tell you that! And the last song of the album is shit: another predictable song about how motherhood transformed her. True, her voice is incredible, Hello was superb, but it doesn’t give her the right to be that boring for the rest of it. I prefer Lana X 1000 times. I see her albums being « one success for them, one for me to make how I want it »: UV was number 1, she did HM (which hit number 2); she did LFL, now it’s NFr. Interscope probably still wants the thing to be number 1 with Jack involved. Or what if there is something else on the record that they don’t like and we have not heard yet?
  4. My theory is that the album took longer than expected to finish. Hope sounds to me like the « October single » we might have had. And Interscope probably doesn’t like something about the album. I don’t think it’s solely a question of release at the right time (that could be done very quickly), but something is off in their mind. It’s true this era has disappointing videos. Like I said, she probably focused, this time around, on the music and the fun parts of promo (little to no interviews, homemade videos, summer festivals and not a big tour), since she did that with LFL. Her interview for the Gucci campaign that we had in January? February? is pretty much indicating that. It’s a small era and it is making the wait the more excruciating, because something sure is wrong and we have nothing to feed us in between.
  5. She is surely doodling, maybe even recording new songs. She loves to do that. But it’s never clear when an era starts in her creative process. The Pitchfork interview following the LFL release said she was already recording new songs... which probably won’t end up on NFR. The only era that she knew what it would be about before starting it seems to be HM.
  6. Well I see it more, this time around, that she wants the era to be about what she likes in the music. A super minimal era following a bigger one with bigger visuals and such. I don’t mind if that era is not as spectacular as the other ones. The next one will probably be bigger. I just wonder if it’s a little too soon when people say « she doesn’t care about visuals anymore »... LFL did serve spectacular visual videos (just not always for the right songs) after all. True, her heart sure ain’t into visuals this time around. But to state that she doesn’t care anymore, we’ll have to see what the next one brings. Now, it’s too soon to judge, i think.
  7. Well if it’s indeed a Interscope politics thing, they probably will make a decision quickly. They know it is expected like crazy at this point.
  8. Called it. Honestly, what can she say more than the reply to her tweet from this week? (The fact that she answered in her old account also speaks tons to me) Unless something has come up in the last few days, which would be surprising, she can’t say much more. Plus it’s a festival; she’s more likely, I think, to announce something in an arena venue, where the crowd is there for her exclusively, rather than fans and non-fans alike.
  9. The reply to the tweet this week closed the case for a couple of weeks, honestly. I’d really be surprised if she talked about it, other than « It’s coming soon »
  10. It’s pretty much how artists are doing it with festivals these days: a setlist made of greatest hits rather than the new stuff. BTD is still her best-selling album, so no wonder she includes so many of that album, though I am tired too of hearing them live.
  11. Well, other than MAC and VB, i don’t expect her to say anything NFR-related, especially with her Tweet this week. Seems out of her hands.
  12. People expecting her to announce something about the album release are in denial of the reply to her tweet she made this week lol. I'm glad to see her again on stage, with MAC and VB
  13. They wanted her to work with Adele’s producer, Paul something.
  14. WTF is this?!?! I AM NOT THINKING CLEARLY.... BUT WHAT IF IT'S TRUE?!?! Could explain the "hold" of NFR from Interscope (again, it's probably false, but a part of me wants to believe so fucking much)
  15. !?!? Why??? I don’t think anything has changed since yesterday... seems it is out of her hands.
  16. She can’t. No artist is at liberty to « go at it » publicly with the politics of their label. We know the troubles she had with UV because of Dan Auerbach’s interview with Rolling Stone (I think... not 100% sure about the media)
  17. I see either two things with that reply:1- she is trolling us and plays innocent because of a surprise release soon; 2- label issues and politics, wanting a number 1.
  18. This smells record company politics.Interscope wants a number 1 album. Hell, she got noticed again this year with BTD (2 billion streams, spending 300+ weeks on Billboard), Jack is a big name, they want the damn thing to succeed. If the album indeed doesn’t have real bangers, and if the visuals are low-key, they must be wondering what’s the best strategy to release it. With the poetry book? Without it? Surprise drop? Planned release? Is the album too slow for Summer? I guess this is why they wanted a second cover for it.
  19. Well they paid for Jack being producer. They want the album to be number 1.
  20. About the set list including many BTD songs... well she is doing what all the artists are doing with festivals: they all have included « best of » songs for the festivals since the crowd there is not necessarily fan of your newer stuff, and they have a limited time on stage. So general appeal for everyone. Many alternative artists don’t like it, but they know it brings a good lot of money home.
  21. I don't love Marina's new music that much, but her pre-release era is honestly stellar. Wish our girl took some notes from her.
  22. Like I said before, I get why Lana and her didnt collab: the albums are almost two opposites. Ok, Marina has a superb and perfect pre-release era, but the music is not as deep as Lana's.
