Woah, we’ve been fed this year I didn’t like Secret Life very much to be honest (I found the song too quiet and she didn’t play a big part in it ), but Alma’s description sounds more interesting. Anyways, new collab is new collab and if we don’t like it, well at least it’s not on her next album

It’s a beautiful song. There’s something very “Old Hollywood” about it, almost musical. I don’t know if I’ll revisit the song overtime, but it’s very pretty.

I love the mystery surrounding her and lien you said, it’s never black and white with anything she says. That’s why I’m not sure I want a memoir from her. Her albums are her story and it’s enough at the moment. Of course, that being said, i’d surely read it!

I finally listened to her post. Im glad she rectified that false narrative and nothing is controversial in it, so good for her!

I don’t think the new email means something is coming in the next days… The pre-save options were already there the first time we received it… I think it’s simply a « Round two for those who hadn’t pre-saved already » for something coming in the next weeks / months (like a single for a new project - whatever it is).

True! i guess it all depends if there are vinyls this time around… Say Yes to Heaven did very very good with streaming only, so maybe there won’t be physical copies?!? It could allow a much broader release of leaked songs / demos, rather than a selected 25 or so

I remember that she wiped her poetry book… not so sure about her songs. like you said, I don’t think she was targeted for what someone could resell.

The only storyline I hear in LFL is one of a girl in the midst of wanting to make big changes in her life, wanting to leave a mark / legacy by stepping outside of herself, to espace her demons… but realizing that old patters are hard to get rid of. but it’s a very loose pattern, contrary to BTD and UV that are almost like two novels.

With the tour being almost over, do we think we’ll finally have a better idea what the next album will be about? Unreleased? New material? A double LP? It’s quite exciting, not knowing what is next. It could literally be anything (although we know that her unreleased collection is in the works)

I liked both posts because I never know what would be « best ». I used to be in the « the more Lana the merrier », but I guess it has changed a bit. To me, it’s always a question of what the album is about. OB was so long, but it gave so many genres and it was such an eventful year for her, so it makes sense we got such a long album. BB could have been one song shorter. another factor to consider: how long are the songs? If there are a couple of long ones, a shorter track list could make sense but if the songs are shorter, longer track list it could be.

Americana could mean almost anything, but the most « Lana » Americana I’m imagining (something that is uniquely hers and not some rehash of another artist or genre) would be the last CoCC tracks starting with LMLYLAW and a couple of tracks on BB (like Nectar of the Gods). She never repeated an album’s aesthetics / sound so far and I doubt she would. Still not a big fan of country (many people mentioned Mitski and it is a bit too much country to my taste even though I love her texts), except when it is mixed with something else, like Andromeda by Weyes Blood. that being said, I’ll let Lana do her thing and have trust in her process. Hey, maybe this will be the album bringing guitars forward.

I always imagined it was Rob who asked her to do that (I have no proof though): like “Stop bitching your mother”

Cute interview, maybe nothing groundbreaking, but she does give some insight as to why she keeps “going back” to Jack as a producer.
