I love the Jon Batiste interlude and she could put one on the next album, whether it’s sung or a spoken-word poem. Two interludes is breaking the flow a bit. as for the Judas Smith one, I won’t repeat myself (I’ve commented abundantly in the post-release thread). But I do wonder if the incredible instrumental wasn’t originally meant for Behind the Iron Gates

Lol it’s not the same, I fear. Yosemite and Dealer, she kinda had no choice to release them soon, because she talked about those at least twice and in official magazine interviews. Zodiac, well, she can always blame us for finding it (plus we have no idea if she feels that song is finished or not, contrary to the other two).

Going to put my thoughts on it here instead of creating a new thread, but could the songs she recorded in Alabama be meant for the Priscilla movie? The movie is set to premiere at a movie festival in September, with a theatre release in October. Pretty much everything is kept under wraps concerning this movie and I couldn’t find any info on the soundtrack either. Honestly, this soundtrack would make a lot more sense for Lana than the Barbie one (and we know hot it turned out)

Pretty sure it was. From we know / heard from the early concept of LFL, it seems like the album was meant to « make peace » with all the struggles she had experienced in her life, going into this Shangri-la / peace and love serenity kinda feeling. But the world and her life didn’t end up going into that happy, magical, wonderful place. this is why I think she considered that, maybe, she was « lost for life ». the LP we got is the perfect soundtrack for a hot mid-summer that didn’t live to its promises.

There’s been a misconception / confusion about the last tracks of an album vs the last tracks she recorded for an album that could reflect what’s next for the following LP. And even the last recorded tracks aren’t 💯 % certainty of what’s next. That being said, I wouldn’t mind at all for LDR10 to sound like the last three tracks of OB.

Well, the new space, which she isn’t running, gives me hope And her team have repressed UV, LFL in vinyls. They seem more present and have monitored what was demanded by fans online. I don’t think the new era will be « crazy promoted » (no SNL, no radio interview, no proper world tour, maybe one single pushed to radio if one song is more accessible), it it’s still better than what we had so far.

A bit unrelated but still… To be the 5th female singer with songs over 100M streams on Spotify, when a good chunk of her discography isn’t pop or isn’t even « top 10 material » is just an incredible accomplishment She has 5 albums with more than 1 M streams per day, these days (including OB, HM and even UV to an extent - all incredible but really not « commercial oriented » or even « super accessible »). However, the way her team is now pushing the new website for news, I think the next album will have more visibility than OB.

It’s a shame we never got Hey Blue Baby. kinda agree that we might have a song or two on LDR10 (whatever this album is at this point), but hardly all of them.

Since we’re probably heading towards an unreleased collection before a new LP (the later being more pop than her regular releases), I want weird, bold, something to discuss and reflect upon many weeks after its release I relistened to OB this morning, while going for a long walk and I love how this album now has different songs I go back to these days that I was a bit overlooking in the past weeks. Paris Texas, Sweet and Peppers are hitting hard right now.

I dreamed I was looking up Lana’s Apple Music page and there was a double single to-presave: the Jon Batiste collab… and a new collab with the Weeknd (the cover was a really bad photoshop edit with lots of pink - guess I saw too many Barbie posts in the last week )
