  1. Jesse teased a new song called Play, out June 30, via his stories. 👀 No audio, no snippet… Could 2023 finally be the year we hear that damn song?!? If not, I give up on that one, honestly.
  2. Her reactions make me enjoy Lana’s albums even more
  3. I wonder how she’d feel about Malibu now that she released so many personal and revealing songs since BB and OB
  4. Maybe not but I thought we were pretty much saying the same thing. Maybe my wording was bad before my second coffee haha! kinda agree that the monthly followers aren’t a big indicator of someone’s popularity (and even less of talent), but it’s an interesting data to compare an artist with themselves. As for Lana, her fan base is growing with time and, to me, that’s what it’s about. But it’s also something that fluctuates a lot with events: I’m pretty sure she lost a Chunk of followers when she posted QFTC
  5. She sure got back that mysterious vibe she always had in the past. TBH, her HM posts were always « late » for official releases and promo, so it’s not like we’re missing so much with her account closing. im curious to see what pre-releases eras will be like. Snippets probably won’t be that much of a thing, except if someone in her entourage posts one. LB and insiders probably will be our main info sources
  6. Madonna, as iconic and legendary as she is, hasn’t had a big album hit since Music in the 2000s… So I’m not really surprised that Lana has more monthly listeners than her, TBH. Not to say that Lana is more « talented » or whatever, both are excellent in their own genres, but Lana does have a quality to her music that makes you want to go back to her albums over and over again, which helps her follower’s numbers.
  7. Will we finally learn if Bittersweet Anthem is something to get excited about of if it’s just a meh redo of National Anthem?
  8. Ok i Hope Lana does a song for this soundtrack https://www.instagram.com/p/Ctuix09r-tG/?igshid=MzRlODBiNWFlZA==
  9. I’m very conflicted about how to feel knowing that she scrapped a deluxe version to LFL or a follow-up album with its outtakes because she met Jack NFR is probably my fave album, but what we’ve heard so far from a couple of LFL outtakes sounds incredible as well… Why can’t she release that now?!?
  10. Agree to disagree on that one, but I guess it’s because I’m all about the music when it comes to her (tours aren’t that important to me). HM was released just 15 months after UV, with a short pre-release of four singles. Never thought that the HBTB Mv was all that, but MTWBT’s and Freak’s were very nice. I’ve always loved old Hollywood so this album from her was a dream come true to me.
  11. What is Everything I Do, again? We have so many snippets that Take forever to leak that my brain deletes them to give myself a break
  12. I agree 💯! Just like you said, the supposed witchiness vibes come the trailer and her posts about hexing Trump. But other than that, I’m really not sure it even was a thing. Of course, we have some dark songs from that era that can channel witchy vibes in a way (Heroin, Serene Queen) but they also can be associated with the spacey-retro futuristic vibes. a lot happened in those two years creating this album, which changed the direction of it a lot. one thing is for sure though: she did say that she sat down early on with interscope to decide what the first two singles would be (my guess is that they wanted a bigger commercial success than HM).
  13. I remember reading some meh 🫤 reviews here for the album even though I wasn’t a LB member back then (I was pretty much lurking here daily ). Coachella was the « turning point » /no return point for the LFL hate from LB back then (although the title track got some negative reviews here also). Thank God for new members that brought some love for LFL since then. agree with you that NFR wouldn’t even exist without LFL (in a way, NFR is a more « polished » LFL). one of my fondest memories as a Lana Stan will always be the July 12 debacle undfolding here, when the track list was posted with the preorder and the interview with Zane Lowe… No RBFY!!! (Although we knew right from the starts she’d scrap it) No Yosemite! No BAR! A different Summer Bummer version from the album is on her YouTube channel! That version has been taken down! Coachella is on the track list, she should have scrapped it!! Oh the meltdowns Good times.
  14. Not that I have any proof or that she ever confirmed it, but I’ve always thought that Looking for America could have been a reworked « political outtake » from LFL…
  15. LFL is one interesting era indeed. I wouldn’t change the album at all, as « imperfect » as it is (I don’t mind the different genres of it, but some songs could have benefited a bit more polishing with the trap beats, like Coachella and In My Feelings; they kinda clash with the tracks that have very pristine production), it reflected the state of the US in 2017 and my personal state of mind. I love how the outtakes bring us closer to the witchy, folky, spacey Lana that I love so much. And as much as I love that initial concept, I’m not so sure we would have loved LFL as much as we say we would; I think a lot of people would have called it « Honeymoon snore fest 2.0 » (yes, this is how HM was perceived back then). anyways, I want Cry Kill Die!
  16. I can objectively say that the interlude is great. The instrumentals are incredible. but I’ve never been able to listen to it more than once because of my personal background (I was raised in baptist churches and a white dude preaching / yelling has me really triggered; I had a similar experience watching Shinny Happy People on Prime, a documentary about fundamentalist churches in the States and it brought back all of my anxieties / discomfort / unhappiness from my childhood). That being said, I get why she put it there but maybe if she had chopped the sermon by two minutes I could have soldiered through.
  17. Radiohead is all about social anxiety, being unable to find peace and lasting human connections. Lana tells the story of her doomed romances and decay of the American dream. Although they sound different, they both share the same sadness / melancholy throughout.
  18. True. The piano notes of the end of the song is even worse!
  19. Link please? Edit: found it! https://www.instagram.com/tv/CXv4pkTo6BZ/?igshid=MzRlODBiNWFlZA==
  20. Get Free sorta put Radiohead in the vilain corner (sadly) for LB. But both Lana and Radiohead are amongst my faves so yeah, they do have a lot in common
  21. Geez We wish she’d do that, not that she will
  22. seriously, you have all of my admiration, guys. I would have handed my Lana Stan card a long time ago if I had to wait half of you guys have with Sky.
