  1. I was under the impression they hadn’t worked together for very long Like they had recorded some demos and some unfinished songs and that was it. That side project will always be a mystery to me.
  2. It’s seriously amazing that our girl is recording her tenth album a little over 10 years after BTD She is working non-stop. i was watching the Wham documentary on Netflix and the Whitney Houston biopic two weeks ago, and I was a bit shocked to learn that Wham only has 3 or 4 albums under their belts - and yet, they are legendary. same with Whitney Houston: she doesn’t have 10 studio albums in her whole career and she is so iconic. I know that the circumstances are not comparable at all with Lana (Whitney’s tragic struggle with drugs slowed down considerably her career - and the music industry has also changed a lot since the 80s), but for both of these phenomenal and iconic artists, I thought they had way more albums than that. which brings me to how iconic Lana’s career is already, how incredibly impactful she already is amongst her piers - and we haven’t seen the last of her yet
  3. I honestly don’t care what style or what type of song she goes into for the next album. OB kinda ticked all the boxes : personal singer/songwriter ballads, classic old Hollywood songs, bangers (for Lana at least), prog experimental masterpiece(s). In Spring, I would have wished for another Jon Batiste collab, but we’ll have it on his album. Pop Lana is something that we haven’t heard in a while, but if an unreleased compilation is really on the way, many of the songs that Interscope would want on it are mostly pop-ish. which leaves me with no expectations whatsoever, which is always the best way to enter a new Lana era Isn’t it White Dress?
  4. The delulu train will go full speed I want Neil and Rich Lee for a MV
  5. The last minute and a half of the song is amazing. I wish she had met him when she was making a « bigger-sounding » album. WFWF is beautiful, but it has got to be, to me, the biggest letdown in her career, solely for the fact that that song really doesn’t showcase what Mike Dean can do as a producer (like it could have been produced by her LFL team, seriously)
  6. Yeah, especially since he passed away last year Yeah then what?
  7. That’s also my guess. I liked his album, but let’s not kid ourselves that without the two Lana tracks, I’m not sure how well it would have done. His label surely will want to repeat the expérience for his second album, with a couple of Lana tracks.
  8. I really have no idea what LDR10 will be at this point I don’t think it’s going to be an album with original songs yet… But I do expect unreleased tracks before that. Or maybe we’ll get the cover album
  9. I don’t have any LFL vinyls… but im not sure I’ll buy one, even if it’s the clear coke bottle repress… with an alternative cover, I’d really want it, but LFL has to be the cover I like the least in her discography (not a bad cover, just not the best. The Neil photoshoot for LFL gave us way better pics more representative of the album )
  10. Oh honey, you’re in for a big storm. i can summarize many points: the trap beats on the last tracks added to the album sound a bit cheap, many people dislike the title track with the Weeknd and would have preferred the demo, and there’s also the conception (misconception ?) that the initial concept for the album was more spacey - ambiant and witchy than what we got, many don’t like the collabs or would have preferred solo versions to those songs, the “political songs” don’t fit her, and the track list isn’t cohesive for a Lana album. I personally don’t agree with a lot of those points. The only thing that I wish she had gone trough was to release an EP of the best outtakes from it, a couple of months later, before Norman. LB was probably the biggest hater of this era at the time. It took time and new members coming in and loving it to change the “LB narrative”.
  11. We honestly didn’t appreciate this era at the time: five singles, numerous magazine shoots and articles, many interviews where she revealed tracks’ names, radio premiere. We had been fed so much and yet, we were complaining pretty much every day. True, it took a long time to get the release date (which is my biggest trigger when it comes to her pre-releases), but God this pre-release era was pleasant, compared to Norman’s
  12. Happy 6th to Lust for Life! There’s been much talk about the final product vs the initial concept and I won’t add anything new if I go on on the subject. This album means so much to me. There was so much dormant turmoil in my life at that time and this LP was the perfect soundtrack for this messy time of my 30s. On a less personal note, this album is the soundtrack if you feel like summer “has let you down”, if you’re having a bit of “seasonal depression” from your high expectations in the spring of what you thought summer would be. im sure she didn’t know it at the time, and I don’t think that nobody could have predicted it at the time, but LFL might have been the first glimpse of what tomorrow would bring: a world shifting rapidly, very shaky. The “political” tracks were just general enough to still feel accurate for 2023.
  13. Yeah same! I mean, more people are able to have their own copy without having to pay 300$, how is it a bad thing? I honestly don’t collect things for their future value (simply because I want them and love them; and I don’t collect something for the sake of it, so my “collection will be complete”). And collecting something for its future worth and rarety is always a gamble: it never is a certainty that an item could be worth thousands of dollars in the future.
  14. I’m not seriously expecting his second album this year since he has to record it (Lana and him seem to share the same « ability » to underestimate the time it takes for a musical project to come to fruition ). Especially if he wants to work again with those big name producers he had for his first LP. I still can’t believe he could get his hands on Jack, Zach and Dan Heath for his first album (thank goodness for his famous daughter. Nepo daddy indeed )
  15. I wish she will go back to electric guitars à la Money, Power, Glory some day. We need another jazz meets rock guitars masterpiece from her I wonder why she hasn’t done some more improv sessions with Blake: they gave us beautiful songs together but it kinda didn’t repeat itself after UV Although I love many of those songs or titles, she doesn’t need a song named Rosé. Way too much «white Karen living the suburban dream »
  16. It’s at least more than backing vocals and from what I heard from his album so far, the guest star on the other tracks all have their moment. So far so good I guess
  17. Rob revealed in a new Dazed interview that he already has enough music to record a second album, probably out next year. watch the OB outtake end up there seriously though, that family is working at the speed of light
  18. Yeah me too. I thought she had asked friends and family to record some audio poems.
  19. Yeah but didn’t she also soudcheck Let The Light In?
  20. My love for Lana didn’t start with a « love at first sight » kinda feeling. The summer Video Games came out, I wasn’t enthralled by it. I loved the aesthetics of the homemade MV but that’s pretty much it. When BTD LP was released, the whole SNL debacle had me wondering if it was another case of manufactured female singers, incapable of singing live, so I didn’t give the album a chance. The summer following BTD, I started dating this guy who I thought we had it going on, only for our summer fling to cool off considerably with fall. A couple of months later, I bumped into the guy again and realized I still had feelings for him, so I tried to « give the thing another try » and asked him out on a date. While I was waiting for him, Blue Jeans came on the playlist and it clicked. That was just before she was about to release Paradise. I then gave BTD a chance and loved many songs from it. I then began looking up for songs from her on YouTube. Little did I know that many of them were leaks. i wasn’t a die hard fan until she released Tropico, just before UV. Then began my obsession with her.
  21. Lol I’m mostly surprised they’re still making these Now This Is What I Call Music Why did they chop 30 seconds to it?!? It’s not like it’s a 7 min track
