I feel like she had the chance to turn it into a poem and add it to her next book but I’m so glad she didn’t and she gave it a full orchestra and melody. Also I find it interesting to see how both Fingertips and Kintsugi are the most personal songs from the record and are located in the heart of the tracklist

    Spoiler

Kintsugi and Fingertips are going to be the most dense, personal, and cerebral songs on the record. Probably my two favorites as well

so true !! I can kiiinda see the comparison with BB title track but it sounds so fresh and so classic lana at the same time… I also think I have never heard something like it before, especially how her vocals are reinforced by the production. the only thing close is The Land of 1000 Fires or something very cinematographic from the 60s

    Spoiler

It sounds like a poem from Violets set to music :crying4:

okay so if you’ve heard the leaks can u describe what lana songs each of the tracks remind you of??? (if you think of an unreleased or non-ldr song that’s fine too) i’m really trying hard not to listen to the leaks but i’m having such a difficult time 😭

    Spoiler

In my personal opinion, these songs are some of her most original to date. We can't even agree on what the songs sound like, so it's really difficult to say accurately, despite their mellowness

The Grants - Honeymoon or Norman, I guess?

Sweet - Love Song, but just the same vibe

Fingertips - Genuinely believe she's never made a song like this before.

Grandfather...- A deeper and more gentle Mariners Apartment Complex

i miss all the drama as usual but i'm just here to dump my feelings and there are A LOT of them bc it's physically painful to listen to fingertips but it sounds so beautiful, the melody and the orchestra, i can't stop.... kinda makes me wish i didn't understand english lmao.

find your astral body, put it into my arms

give you two seconds to cry

take you home, i'll give you a blanket

your spirit can sit and watch tv by my side

    Spoiler

I'm not exaggerating when I say that Fingertips might be her greatest song to date, right?

    This!
I’m all for sexy songs from her but I can’t imagine an album that would have only those… Wouldnt we be like « we get it, you want to get laid » at the end of that album? Even Summer Renaissance, that has a lot of sexy tracks, isn’t counting solely on those…

And also, @cinnamongirI made a great point that

    Spoiler

this album really isn't sexy at all, and it actually is a pretty weird word to describe an album about such heavy and personal topics and about her FAMILY. The only truly "sexy" song on the album seems to be Peppers and Taco Truck, and even those two are riddled with her personal struggles with fame. It's very INTIMATE. Not sexy

Also one of my favorite lines. What amazes me about this record is truly how cerebral it is, which is something she mentioned in the W magazine interview. Just received my MA in English Literature, so I've been gushing and floored over the lyricism of this record.

you do realize that most albums.. have.. variety? and diversity.. and versatility.. and even if it’s a ‘sexy album’ they may have a couple of ballads so every song isn’t exactly the same.. i think you’re the one not getting since 90% of your posts are you shitting on lana’s new shit

not every song on an album is 100% cohesive and in fact on most albums there’s at least 1-2 songs that break the mold, there’ll be a ballad with guitar or piano most of the time or at least a stripped back song.. and this is LANA.. she never makes an album with a 100% cohesive sound. the most that did is honeymoon and even then there’s songs like TLY and more piano focused tracks, compared with the trap beats and moody strings..

Great post. "Tulsa Jesus Freak" is on Chemtrails, "High by the Beach" and "Freak" are on Honeymoon, "hope is a dangerous thing" is on Norman Fucking Rockwell, "Dealer" is on Blue Banisters. Lana always puts on tracks that break the mold on each record. While I don't agree that Ocean Blvd is a "sexy" album overall thus far, it is incredibly intimate and there are certainly sexy songs.

  8. Hey y'all. I have a suggestion. My suggestion calls for a possible even more restricted version of the ignore list that won't even give you the temptation to open someone's posts when you see them. I love this website, and I really don't want to leave, but I feel upset and angry sometimes and under attack by certain members constantly. I would really love if the ignore list could remove that option to open up someone's posts when you're viewing a thread. I also think this option would bring a lot of people back. Hope that makes sense. @Elle @cinnamongirI @ultrabanisters @fishtails
