i'm pretty sure bird world was just an early concept for the title track! it's such a cool song title, hopefully we'll get to hear it eventually.

What are your favourite literary quotes of all time?
Dark Angel replied to Mer's topic in Literature
i know this is technically a full poem and not a quote but i've always loved "annabel lee" by edgar allan poe. i remember way back in middle school when we were learning about edgar allan poe they had us read this poem and i was shook. it's very haunting, but equally well written, and lovely. -

Honeymoon - Post-Release Discussion Thread + Poll
Dark Angel replied to annedauphine's topic in Post-Release Threads
happy 5th birthday, honeymoon! i really love this album, it's relaxing, it's lonesome, it's oceanic, and it's just lovely. so many tracks off this album are so underrated among the fanbase, yet are standouts in her discography, such as the title track, music to watch boys to, religion, salvatore, and 24. i'd consider this album to be the bridge between the submissive, stormy character from btd - uv, to the more assured, yet honest and introspective character from lfl - nfr. perfect album for the summertime, where there is a still a cool breeze yet you can feel the slow burn of the sun beating down on you. -
here are mine btd - the album version of lolita is the absolute worst version. also i never really cared for blue jeans. paradise - burning desire is boring, the rework of yayo should never have happened. uv - guns & roses is one of the best songs on the album. honeymoon - the demo version and album version of freak are both equally amazing in different ways. lust for life - love is a cute song, but it doesn't do anything for me, and cherry is by far her most overrated song, ever. nfr - hiadtfawlmth - bihi is such a great song, it's such a raw and honest song and i really appreciate it for that.

i don't understand why people have an issue with sad girl specifically because of it's repetition when a lot of other songs on the album have that same element. ultraviolence, pretty when you cry, black beauty, and is this happiness all have repeating choruses yet i don't really see anyone complain about them. i love sad girl as well, there's something powerful about it, it's like she's finding her own power and strength by admitting that she is, and the playing the role as, the sad girl archetype.
