I think this is my main issue with COCC, and it might be a result of Jack and Lana not having much studio time together. I think Dark But Just A Game is probably the most poignant song production-wise because it's so unique and, dare I say, somewhat experimental. But yeah COCC lacks instrumental climaxes and it's weird to think but I think the best part of COCC, sound-wise, is Lana's vocals. It's odd but exciting because I feel like her vocals have never really shone in most of her other albums, and sometimes inhibited the appeal of her early albums imo, but on COCC there are so many wonderful harmonies and she does new things with her voice like the breathy falsetto on White Dress, the belt on Dance Till We Die, and I already mentioned harmonies but I can't not draw attention to the layering on Wild At Heart and 'it's beautiful, how this deep normality ...' Hopefully Rock Candy Sweet will continue the vocal experimentation but with some slightly more interesting instrumentals. I think this combined with her lyrics which have been wildly improving could make her best album yet!!

Holy shit I can’t stop laughing wtf is going awnnn but yeah would be cool if she works with some new producers not Jack (love him but cocc and nfr are good enough methinks) OR Rick Zach etc SOMEONE NEW Kevin Parker? Mark Ronson? Metro Boomin again? Idk but something new would b very exciting -
Lil Yachty and Lizzo are dope creative artists imo, but Lil Xan and Ava Max both seem so unoriginal and uncreative so I understand the disappointment there. But I actually kinda like Moonlight so I still have hope that Charli can bring out the best in Ava

"Not All Who Wanders Are Lost" has a high thrill and reminds Lana of "Cinderella in the movie, where she's holding the blue bird" "Dark But Just A Game" is sonically compared to Portishead and Ricky Nelson's"Garden Party". Lyrically, it is supposed to be similar to Allen Ginsberg's poem "Howl". Apart from that, it seems to be inspired by an disillusioning incident at a party she attended with Jack, hosted by Madonna and U2's manager Guy Oseray, where she contemplated about how it's best not to meet your idols and how musicians change in strange ways. The title originates from a conversation between her and Jack. Jack also describes this song as "so LDR", being about "fly down the rabbit hole and smile in the same breath" I KNEW THESE TWO WERE GOING TO BE ALBUM HIGHLIGHTS I JUST KNEW IT

holy heck Alex Somers did the music for Alone Together?!?!?! he's so talented wtf!! if you don't know him he is Jónsi's partner, and they've done heaps of amazing music together; Alex has produced some of Sigur Rós' albums. listen to Boy 1904 by Jónsi & Alex it is one of the most incredible songs I've ever heard sampling the last living castrati (boys who were castrated before puberty so their voice developed differently )

Okay well @rare your suggestion of 'trapli' reminded me of Pop 2 which made me think of 'Trap 2' which I love also @Nigel Hitch your tracklist gave me a few songs I hadn't even heard of so thank you for that. I made a cover and I'm really proud of how it turned out!!
