that's usually true, but lana herself has said that her music is "100% autobiographical", which of course feeds our speculation. if she didn't throw clues around (and if she weren't so fascinating and hadn't lived such a full life) we wouldn't feel so compelled to try to piece together stories and people and associate them to her lyrics! bear in mind that some theories have been somewhat confirmed, while others are in the air or maybe just fantasies.

Lana had no moral compass pointing due North~ we know that now:')

I think Every Man Gets His Wish is about The Teacher.
In a comment ages ago on an interview, someone claimed they went to Kent, and that Lana is a year older than she says she is, and was a waitress aged 15 at Ruby Tuesdays.
The Teacher has a Chevrolet, may have met her at Ruby Tuesdays as well as school. Also 'Baby you'll never look old in my eyes.'
You get what I mean!

I won't cry myself to sleep like a sucker
I won't cry myself to sleep
If I do I'll die
Now you fall asleep with another
Damn you
Remember how we used to escape for the summer
Fireworks and sparklers would light up the black skies
We'd hold on tight for our lives to each other
Hello, hello, where did you go?
We were two kids living life on the run
Like the american dream
Baby, nothing to lose
And we get messed up for fun
We went too fast, too young
But I won't cry myself to sleep like a sucker
I won't cry myself to sleep
If I do I'll die
Now you fall asleep with another
Damn you
Damn you
Flowers in my hair and your breath smelled like whiskey
Promised anywhere that I go, take you with me
Dancing on your feet like a child to the radio
Hello, hello, where did you go?
We were two kids living life on the run
Of the american dream
Baby, nothing to lose
And we get messed up for fun
We went too fast, too young
But I won't cry myself to sleep like a sucker
I won't cry myself to sleep
If I do I'll die
Now you fall asleep with another
Damn you
Damn you
Damn you
Damn you
Every once in a lifetime
Dreams can come true
Now and then when the stars shine
You meet somebody like you
And I won't cry myself to sleep like a sucker
I won't cry myself to sleep
If I do I'll die
I pray your life is sweet, you fucker
Damn you
Oh, oh
Damn you
Damn you

Call me poison ivy 'cause I'm far from good
But pretty from afar, like a dark star
Everything is fine, but I wish I was dead :crying5:
Baby, you'll never grow old in my eyes
With your golden grill, true love never dies
I like your ultraviolet swing, I like it when you treat me mean.
Chateau Marmont memories fading, hope is very far
L is for the love you that gave and took away
O is for the only one I wanted to stay
V is for my valiant, valiant baby
E is X that we took with champagne
Let's celebrate our twisted fate, we're the broken ones
You're gonna love me... I'm gonna make you :crying5:
Your soul is haunting me and telling me that everything is fine, but I wish I was dead" :crying5:
Unmissable, invincible
Behavior is despicable
If you’re lookin’ for fun you can come out with me tonight
It's nice to love and be loved but its better to know what God knows [ ]
Overdose and dying, on our drugs, and our love, and our dreams, and our rage
I'm in love with a dying man :crying5: .
Palm trees in black and white, last thing I saw before I died
It's the voodoo Mississippi south, 69 million stars. Birds are flying out of my mouth, spirits creeping in my yard. Hold my head, it's tilting back
You don't know what you've done to me, you're heavier than heavenly :crying5:
Are you gonna be my lover? Are we gonna be true love suicide? It's either live or die boy

larisalars liked a post in a topic by ednafrau in Iconic Lizzy/LDR Fashion
Since, along with the music, Lana's image is an intrinsec part of her as an artist - and part of what differentiates her from her Lizzy Grant days - her look is most relevant. I love that she experiments with hair color and different lengths and styling. Every change conveys something particular and distinct. What would you guys say is the definitive Lana Del Rey look for the "Born To Die" era? Which represents the album best? or, subjectively, which do you prefer?
Blonde LDR:
Honey Blonde LDR:
Ash-Blonde LDR:
Strawberry Blonde LDR:
Auburn LDR:
Darker Auburn LDR:
Brunette LDR:
It's hard to pick just one, but I think I'll go with:Strawberry Blonde! or Honey Blonde
Also, I have to say I didn't dislike, but didn't especially care for the bouffant (although it does go with a certain aspect of LDR) and I'm loving the darker, long, straight hair! ♥

larisalars liked a post in a topic by missirinee in Lana in Alabama/South
Okay, I'm sure some people are feeling me too with their interest or curiousity in Lana's journey to the South. Seriously, it's killing me and I think it's the most questionable and mysterious yet glamorous aspect about Lana for me.
I think Lana was definitely in the South but what confuses me is whether she was in Alabama (as mentioned in 1949, Pin-Up Galore and another song? I can't name it off the top of my head...) or Mississippi. She mentions in Brite Lites, "I'm going back to Aberdeen, back where I was a beauty queen" and we get hints of Lana go-go dancing in the song. There's a city in Mississippi called Aberdeen, and where I think Raise Me Up is about.
Raise Me Up to me is definitely about when Lana was in the South. Some people might think otherwise, but I got hints from the song talking about the South when I heard the references about voodoo and the South is notorious for its history tangling with voodoo.
After learning and seeing Lana's senior yearbook dedication thing with her quote, ect. I was surprised to learn that according to the Kent article, she wanted to go to SUNY Geneso. In my knowledge, she went to Fordham. So where the South comes in is that I think she was well on her way of going to SUNY Geneso, but somewhere between graduation and starting school there, Lana decided to go to the South. She might've subtracted the year in the South from her memory so that's why she's 27 to the public and not revealed to be 28, her real age
There's been some theories that she followed K to the South for a year before he got arrested and sent to death row and she went back to New York. In regarding to the K/South theory, Alabama has the death row penalty so...
There's also that screenshot of Lana's old Lizzy Grant Myspace where in 2008 she listed her location as Alabama for a while so that can contradict the theory that she went 2003/2004/ (one of those years) in the South. Or maybe she spent those years after her graduation from Kent in Mississippi and 2008 in Alabama?
I'd like to know your theories! I have a lot more that I can't exactly name off of the top of my head detail to detail so any addition to this hopefully growing topic is welcome.

The way she combines clothes
Although the last 2 photos show that she'd be hot and glamorous in anything, so I guess she's right not to care.

Of the many photographs ive seen of Priscilla, there are many where her and Lana almost look identical. Ive heard people talk about Lana resembling her before. Do you think Lana ever purposely tries to add a little of Priscillas iconic look into her style?
(Young Priscilla before all the surgery, of course.)
