The more I listen to it, the more I think it would be greatly improved with a bassline.  (Though not in some techno/EDM way.)  The instrumental just feels incomplete, even if the strings are great.

By slow I'm referring to the vocal delivery, rather than the beats-per-minute of the actual instrumentals.  In terms of feel, IMO there's a huge difference between the "speed" of something like Blue Jeans/Summertime Sadness and Old Money/Honeymoon, because of how she delivers the lyrics and because of the amounts of words per line.  It has to do with how slowly she sings individual words, and how she draws out lines, etc.

because the chorus only consists of 9 different words repeated again and again in a total of 3 phrases - two of which are barely phrases at all?
 
Don't get me wrong, I love the song - but her lyrics in this particular song (especially in the chorus) aren't even close to being the standard of most songs on BTD.
 
I also think Lana is a good enough lyricist to capture a moment/idea/atmosphere with strong punchy choruses, without resorting to essentially the song title repeated, followed by 2 short phrases which rhyme with it, repeated.

BTD is far more interesting. Has a beautifully written and worded chorus, unlike HM's lazily written chorus of the title repeated over and over again
Choruses on BTD are significantly better than those on UV and HM song. She's gotten so lazy with the repetition and choruses

Holy Fuckin shit.. just read thru the first few hundred posts on the YT vid of honeymoon.. Wow. lots of people don't like it. lots of people do like it. We need the full album people. peace out bitches turning points coming me thinks.. either up or down.. regardless of what LDR gave us, whether she gets bigger, or smaller (in the public eye), always remember the tunes she gave us that we each love. really thats all that remains and all that is important.
 
still dont see honeymoon yet.. no effect on me.. great voice, but the song meh.. not doing it.. wish it impacted me. like
some of the other albums.. thats why i need this new full album!!!!!!!!

It's alright. It'll probably be one of those songs I skip once the whole album is out.
 
I think it's weird that she put this up on Youtube and that there was no iTunes link for purchase. Is this how she's done things in the past? It makes me think she did this against her label's wishes.

Song has grown on me - makes a hell of a difference with headphones. Nevertheless, I hope the album isn't too monotonous. Hopefully some pacey, non-sleepy songs in there...

You're obviously not "for people having their own voice and opinion," because you can't tolerate people having a negative one.  By your own logic, all the people who are screaming "OMG this is the best song ever, I am crying" are insulting to the people who don't like it.  Why is it OK for people to have an extremely positive opinion but not an extremely negative opinion?  Calling it "shit" very much IS "stating an opinion."  It's stating an opinion that "this song is shit."  Why is that difficult to understand?
 
You say you're for people expressing themselves, but then go on to suggest that certain people "keep quiet."  Just admit that you only can deal with positive opinions, so we can move on.

Grow the fuck up.  Lana has hundreds of songs.  Some of them ARE shit.  He/she doesn't "deserve" anything just because they have a different opinion than you.  And that doesn't make anyone "less of a fan."

It actually is pretty serious when you have people suggesting that others aren't "real fans" or that should stop listening to Lana just because they aren't creaming themselves over her latest song.  People have been absolutely awful to Heartcore in this thread, it's gross.

It's OK, but a bit boring.  It's not just that it's slow -- but that it's slow and there aren't a lot of lyrics, so the words feel dragged out to finish the lines.  Also, her slow songs are better with more interesting drum/bass lines, IMO.  I'd take pretty much every song on BTD over this.

Is it really that hard for you to understand that Lana has different sounds, and that some people prefer one style to another?  Some people like her fast songs, some people like her slow songs, some people like her jazz songs, some people like her rock songs, some people like her hip hop songs.  It's incredibly arrogant to say that someone shouldn't listen to her now just because they aren't hyperventilating about a particular song.

HM is really growing on me, anyway. I like it a lot.

It doesn't matter though. Not everyone has to like everything Lana puts out lmao the person literally said "if you don't like it, don't say anything." That is moronic. I don't love the song, and I will express that as freely as i want. I do like it though, quite a bit
