This remains my least favourite album from her the only 5 tracks that are essential to me are Honeymoon (which to be honest just serves to set the scene I don’t really enjoy listening to the song), God Knows I Tried, Terrence Loves You, The Blackest Day and Swan Song. Demo version of Freak would earn a spot too but the album version has always been one of my least favourite tracks from her. Weird because the bridge of every song on this album is so strong I just think this is the one Lana album that lives up to the reputation of her music being “boring” ☹️ I think also the comedown of this coming off the back of the epic Ultraviolence which was so stylistic to this being the first taste of Lana not really delivering great visuals has soured its memory for me ctfu

Just played Religion and had to skip halfway through her vocal performance is just so languid ?

Obsessed with how dead on arrival this album is and how underwhelmed her fans are

It's so easy to get in my feelings when thinking about this era. And it feels great that my love for Lana isn't hinging on nostalgia because the music has mostly objectively gotten better as the albums keep coming. There will never be another artist to debut in the way she did. She was on the cusp of everything re: social media and digital marketing etc. The irony being today that everything is SO painfully contrived and focus-grouped the way an artist is marketed and she was labelled a phoney from the get go when it couldn't have been further from the truth... Her debut was really such a lightning in a bottle moment. Stars aligning for her after years of total dedication putting in the work to be a true artist and grinding. And so many artefacts and relics of her storied past to uncover on an internet still in its relative infancy... Literal fucking magic. Biopic when???

Obsessed with the Las Vegas show. Superstar shit. This trash glam rock look is so badass she can seriously do anything. The Heaven Or Las Vegas cover…. She has said before you can tell what her next record will be like by knowing what she’s listening to so whew. Plastic Hearts follow up is gonna be amazing no doubt

This is so so interesting to know the exact writing date of On Our Way and know she was in London at that time and to know that On Our Way was the song that was sent to certain key players to drum up interest for a record deal and that Sony decided not to sign her in 2010. ?

Today marks 10 entire years of being a Lana fan for me. It was instant. I know the exact date because I discovered her through spillitnow.com where the user who made this cover art posted it in a fan art thread and I commented on July 2 2011. I remember the absolute wonder and mystery I would scour obscure corners of the internet looking for more info and photos of this artist. Both of which seemed to be so few and far between – no wikipedia page, I remember the first source I found a lot of Lana content was fuckyeahlanadelrey.tumblr.com, the first fanpage. I had never been so fascinated by someone. I was starting to really discover music for myself for the first time and I thought – cool I can really ride for this indie underground artist. That didn't last long This was before Spotify radio which I owe a lot of my musical obsessions to... Lana as been such a vessel for creative output for me for 10 whole years. Her artistry her stubbornness her world she has always so firmly stood in until people were inevitably drawn into it. I really admire her convictions when it comes to her art. I'm so grateful I got to experience her public career trajectory having been so invested from the beginning of it. I know there are a few other members around from that time and it's really funny to me how we've been coexisting in this digital space for 10 years from spillitnow to lanadelrey.fm to lanaboards – which i'm always so surprised at how old actually is.

So many good moments in the latter half. Him talking about the On Our Way music video and confirming it was the first song they wrote together Saying he'd talk to other writers she was working with and they'd complain she was always talking about diamonds and writing about the same things Him forgetting Lorde's name... As it should be Gold

The concert special was so great and joyous. The cinematography was so classic and beautiful she’s such a superstar and entertainer

Well this has made me revisit some of her music at least. Namely In The Zone Her two best singles for me, also her best music videos. The dark vibe and styling in both is so slick

Gimme What I Want's verse melody is pretty similar to elements of the verse here Especially as the first line of the verse is "I can tell that you're into me" delivered exactly the same as Gimme What I Want's "I can tell that you're new to this"

Can I make you laugh with a smile? is actually a great line for being so simple Reminds me of the seductiveness of Mermaid Motel especially the demo

An ice cream marketing campaign has no business being this amazing actually. It's so stylish and the photos are great. The camera work in the video is amazing there's no reason that couldn't be an official video for Gimme What I Want. Probably her most hoarse performance to be honest but visually>>>>
