  1. In this interview from 2010! https://www.repeatfanzine.co.uk/interviews/Lana Del Rey.htm One of my favourite pre-fame relics... She also posted this one to her facebook once: London - Third Eye Blind
  2. Nice idea! Milk is the Kings of Leon song she mentioned in particular others from the Mulberry mixtape: It's Alright Ma - Bob Dylan Heartbreak Hotel - Elvis From her "Sex on Ice" playlist Gangster's Paradise - Coolio Some Velvet Morning - Lee Hazlewood & Nancy Sinatra Baby One More Time - Britney Spears So Rich So Pretty - Mickey Avalon Once Upon A Time In The West - Ennio Morricone Lolita - Lana Del Rey Some others that she has mentioned Yayo - Lana Del Rey Garden Grove - Sublime
  3. I made this edit for the 10th anniversary of Born This Way been playing it all morning a lot of it still holds up. I love Hair even more today because I can really hear the Bruce Springsteen Born In The USA era influences and Billy Joel/Elton John vibe she is channelling in You And I
  4. I also think it’s no coincidence that Mother’s Day is in May May is the new July fr in her lyrics
  5. I think she really sounds like Kate Bush in the Wildflower Wildfire chorus
  6. Point 1 yes point 2 I’m not so hopeful about... or if it does if it’ll be for the riiiiiiiiiiiiight reasons ?
  7. I don’t mean to deliberately put down her earlier work in order to elevate her current output but just anecdotally hearing those two songs back to back was really jarring, especially as I don’t ever revisit TIWMUG and it got me thinking how Lana could have so easily been a relic of the tumblr era and it made me appreciate even more how she has deviated so far and so unflinchingly into her own lane and it was just polarising hearing something that sounded to me very dated next to something that will clearly stand the test of time
  8. It’s amazing I can’t think of a stronger linear progression of an artist than Lana. With each release—especially since NFR!—she has really been all about becoming a whole lot more off beat, disregarding structure, less editing in lyrics, more honest and direct in themes and ideas. The songs require so many repeat listens to really grasp. I was just listening to This Is What Makes Us Girls and Hope is a dangerous thing... back to back earlier this week and was like wow It went from cringe to legendary
  9. Blue Banisters is absolutely stunning. Her voice sounds pristine and so emotive
  10. Oh my gosh so much to take in on first listen as it’s a real stream or consciousness kind of thing with so many lyrics but was immediately shook at her stealing one of my favourite Father John Misty lyrics! “She blackens pages like a Russian romantic”

    Azealia Banks

Listened to Fantasea all day today stone cold classic Stopped following her years ago cause it was just too much... seeing she's back in New York makes me very happy for some reason. I highkey feel like i'm experiencing a "return to self" and seeing the same thing in a lot of other people... returning to their roots etc pleases me so much Has she hinted at any new music? I love the new Paul Oakenfold track Hypnotic. I never sought out her stuff that wasn't on streaming so I wasn't familiar with Venus so it's totally new to me
  12. Trash Magic

    Miley Cyrus

This is tooooooo good. should have been a bonus track
  13. Obsessed with the fact this title still makes no sense at all but just feels right ?
  14. The cover shoot video is insane. Every frame is amazing. Beyond cool to see it in motion after being transfixed by the photos from that shoot all those years ago
  15. Seriously. Even if we have to manifest Blue Banisters underperforming commercially for this to happen I'm all for it This is the one time recently I really want her to be told to get on board with something by her management
  16. I'd be here for her team taking matters into their own hands and commemorating it with some sort of digital re-release. It would be the perfect opportunity to release Serial Killer and Queen Of Disaster at least because those are the most well-known unreleased tracks from that era and it would have been weird releasing them when they first received attention on tour/on TikTok. I can see it being capitalised on with just a limited merchandise drop or something but I'm not banking on anything bigger. Us Against The World Hundred Dollar Bill Serial Killer You Can Be The Boss Kinda Outta Luck all deserve justice
  17. The Born To Die album cover being shot the day before her death will always be one of the most interesting unrelated ~astral type connections to me
  18. And by August: http://web.archive.org/web/20110812195459/http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-uKl3xeBVY4 I had never noticed until this very second that by August she updated the description to say Summertime Sadness
  19. This anniversary almost passed without recognition. It's hard to pin down an exact "anniversary" for Videos Games' success since it took a few months to take off and there were multiple uploads. But the original video was first uploaded by Lana 5 May 2011—10 years ago today. Here is a link you can see the upload page as it appeared on 15 May 2011: http://web.archive.org/web/20110515012736/https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-uKl3xeBVY4 It's funny I hadn't realised her Keds Collective video was still live at the time until now (3rd suggested video in the list)
  20. Not All Who Wander Are Lost has become probably Lana’s most special song to me. So comforting and affirming seriously the softest and prettiest she has ever sounded.
  21. Not allison perez. Blocked her annoying ass years ago and forgot she existed
  22. Trash Magic

    Miley Cyrus

She sounds good on this remix but god Without You is such a weak mediocre song. Literally entire song is made up of platitudes and the hook is so weak. It's just so vague and basic
  23. Sounds super personal I love all the songs where she sings about marriage and children so another classic in the bag ”I wasn’t the marrying kind I should have done it anyway” still one of my favourite lyrics
  24. White hot shutters on the veranda cryin on the staircase Blue banisters
  25. Why am I thinking of some lyric like crying on the staircase- blue banisters ?
