A large part of me feels super cynical about the rerecordings because 1. the main motivation is money 2. what makes old music special is the nostalgia and the fact it was recorded when the artist was younger and at a different stage in their life/career But it is interesting because something on this scale has never been done in recent history by somebody of her popularity I'm high key most interested to see what the updated artwork will be like.

The set was so fun, she sounded pitch perfect such a difference to the 2019 festival tour. The Joan Jet trio was the highlight, Bad Karma especially was so good. And Angels Like You at last

Yes it is smh

I read that her Super Bowl Tailgate performance is gonna be a little over an hour according to the NFL digital content manager WTF I thought it would be like 20 mins. Such amazing news. She is in such a privileged position to perform a show to an actual crowd and she totally recognised it and she looks like she’s gonna bring it so hard. Remember when she was organising a wildfire benefit concert for Australia at the beginning of last year just before covid kicked off majorly and it had to be cancelled? She has done so many prerecorded live sets the past year I am so pumped to see a show that is completely live and with a crowd and I just read there’s gonna be 7,500 people there. This is actually a huge deal for her and watching this is going to cure my live music withdrawals. Legend shit.

So funny I came across this by chance. The same exact thing has been happening to me. I don't use iTunes often at all only for unreleased stuff etc so I always forget it's a problem until the time I listen to those songs. So annoying. I don't think there seems to be a pattern in which tracks it happens to. I assumed it was happening to certain ones cause I ripped them from youtube (live performances don't judge) but it also happened with direct downloads and then with the stuff I've downloaded recently it hasn't been a problem at all. So??

This is so cool So much snarling

Por Vida seems like forever ago I remember I was super interested in her that summer and so mad I missed a show she had done in my city simply cause I didn't hear about it until the next day. It's so weird how the album artwork on Spotify at least has changed a few times. I don't recall any other semi big artists doing that. Did she just not like it? It was the tracklist image for ages and I just saw it's that LQ upside down screencap now.. Weird!

May not be politically correct but idgaf it's one of the things I like so much about Lana / Weyes Blood etc... I do think there is something to be said for artistry and the way artists present themselves/what they want people to notice especially in their presence online but I won't get into it I just happen to have a strong aversion to the entire makeup / YouTuber / influencer sphere and the culture around it I know people won't agree with me

My track record is kind of immaculate

The exclusive cassette cover... are they fucking joking Lana really just be sending random shit from her camera roll for all her artwork -
Lmao this is funny. I have no interest in her, as a rule I have no respect for artists who are instagram models / wear excessive make up I randomly added la luz (Fin) to my playlist last month tho I like it

So sad for you guys I wasn't ever a listener but their presence was inescapable on twitter and music forums and seemed to be such a prolific and influential artist and a pioneer of so many things that are ubiquitous in music and digital art today. Alongside the death of Terrell Davis earlier this month it's so heartbreaking to see creatives who are really pushing the envelope and building such a sense of community with their supporters taken from us.

Worse cover than Chemtrails since some considerable effort was put into it

RE: Dua it's funny cause watching the Song Exploder Love Again episode I had this exact takeaway it was just like... okay so she had absolutely no involvement in the song Which isn't exactly of detriment to her or her being a "fraud" but it was revealing

Absolutely stellar Miley performances have been the one constant this past 12 months... This was no exception. She's so confidently in her prime everything she has done is magnetic. She's so obviously a music fan through and through and a lover of performing that even watching performances of the same songs is a joy because the arrangements seem to keep switching up. Turning Prisoner into a brooding dark country rock anthem... Fade Into You was total magic and will be replayed 100 times and Golden G String was fantastic potentially better than album version.

And she's covering Fade Into You by Mazzy Star. Her taste is fantastic. I love the song Misty Blue since she shared it to her story last week

It’s actually performance art how this never happened and was never spoken of again. -
Born to Die - Post-Release Discussion Thread + Poll
Trash Magic replied to Beautiful Loser's topic in Post-Release Threads
A lot of times I think whoa there’s no way it has been X years since X was released but Born to Die definitely feels 9 years old to me if not older! Don’t find myself ever listening to the album tracks other than Radio and maybe Without You. Of course all the singles stand the test of time (Dark Paradise not included. National Anthem substituted for the eerie and more sparsely produced Demo #2). It’s always so weird to me when time passes and I turn the age my favourite artists were when they released some of their most pivotal works. 9 years on she was 2 years older than I am now. It’s weird there always seems to be a huge disconnect when you are a young teen listener enamoured with a twenty-something singer there seems to be some kind of vast, mystic disparity between you both, where it seems they are light years away from you in age but still not “old”. Then before you know it you grow up and realise just how young they were and what an accomplishment and how truly extraordinary the things they achieved were at that age. ? -
Without being too hyperbolic it really is masterful just how crammed the title track is with hooks. Like there's not a second of down time. So many instrumental flourishes, adlibs and melodies. AOTY I'm imaging some outrageous B-52s / Dee-lite style music video
