So Haynie is doing the majority of the production? Hmm...I was hoping she would work primarily with Ronson.
 
This isn't good news, IMO. This album is very important for her trajectory as an artist and she needed to try something new, but she's decided to go back to work with Haynie who couldn't diversify his sound to save his life. I remember she said she wasn't crazy about the production on BTD...I wonder if the label is pressuring this to repeat the commercial success.

Grimes Album Updates as of rn:
- Half of the record has been heard by her record label
- It's out in Fall - 13 tracks
- Bringing back Halfaxa's HiFi sounds on tracks 2 and 13(or 11)
- Blue and Green will be the colors for the album (Geidi Primes: red, Halfaxa: black and cyan, Visions: purple)
- Including actual instruments this time such as Guitars and Violins (played by her)
- Psychedelic, pop and dance incorporated, experimental sound
- she instagrammed a tracklist/playlist with some titles a little while ago, can someone find it lol

Being as the genre "pop-punk" is typically garbage thats not really saying much. And honestly there is very little "punk" on the album. Like the only real "pop-punk" tracks are like Hanging Around and Breaking Up, the rest of it is like the equivalent to P!nk calling the records she makes with Dr. Luke "punk". Its pop with some more guitars and aggressive drums. Body of My Own has a "punk" approach but isn't a punk or pop-punk song

It's not. It might have the "attitude" that she's been claiming makes her music punk but it really isn't punk at all. The attitude might be a reflection of punk inspiration, but the album itself is a pop album, its not a pop-punk album. And I wouldn't say its a modernized version of punk either, its a pop album with watered down and commercialized punk influences. Again attitude ≠ punk, its just an aspect that people get confused. There's a lot of modernized punk floating around, none of it would be anything close to what Charli did with Sucker.

BTD is by far my least favourite of her albums. UV is my favourite.
