I would say "Never let me go" and "Black beauty". That songs are amazing and totally deserve their place on some Lana's record. What about you?

Oooh Baby - LOVE LOVE LOVE the vibe of this song
Backfire - Discovered this song not so long ago and instantly fell in love with it. this song deserves so much more recognition than it gets! It's heartbreaking and beautiful!
Dangerous Girl - This song is the shit! So Americana-Lana...I just love the retro vibes and it's seductive nature...makes me wanna grind all the time tbh
Prom Song (Gone Wrong) - OMG. This song...I associate it with a specific time of my life I'm not gonna go too much into detail about.
Driving in Cars with Boys  - there is something about this song that made me fall in love with it right from the start.
Meet Me in the Pale Moonlight - best leaked we've got since BB.
TV in Black in White - How fucking beautiful is this song? Definitely in my TOP 3. It makes me really sad sometimes, tho. It's kinda lighthearted but really tragic at the same time.
Never Let Me Go - Loved this better one year ago I still really like it though
You & Me - Haunting. Listened to it during Winter 2013 and damn that was quite an experience.
Black Beauty - This song is essential. Praying it's on UV
Hollywood - This song really reminds me of summer. I can't wait tolisten to it all summer long (along with UV, of course )

The ones in red are my TOP 3 unreleased songs. I just couldn't leave the other ones unmentioned.

    Thanks

-you're getting to see her live? Ahhh I am superbly jealous. At least the USA fans have the chance of running into Lana. My country is completely off the Lana map!-

I love that there are many voices of Lana. If you listened to the different parts -low, mid-range, head voice (high pitch)- you wouldn't think they all from the same person!

And just to help anybody out a little, though Wikipedia will do a better job than me, the female voice is generally divided into 3 categories. Soprano the highest, Contralto the lowest, and Mezzo-Soprano is the middle ground, sort of a soprano with a bit of smokiness. This is where Lana supposedly sits.

Now, E3 (the E note below middle C), is considered an amazingly low not for a female to hit. And Lana can access B2! That may not sound like much of a stretch, but has anybody tried to hit that lowest note in Ride? (C3) that's no easy feat! And impossible for some people -which does not mean lack of vocal talent, don't worry-

Perhaps the most remarkable thing about Lana's lower range, is that she is a mezzo soprano! This is the same vocal classification as Taylor Swift, and Selena Gomez. Yeah. Chew on that.

And we can't forget about that high note in Cola. Gave me shivers! I didn't even know she was capable of that. Some other remarkable points were the live Mermaid Motel performances (just love it), and on Off to the Races.

Here are some videos documenting Lana's vocal notes, I suggest everybody watch, and fall in love.

Yes, see I thought she was a natural contralto at first, (given what I do know on the subject) and actually, the article on DivaDevotee originally stated that she was a contralto, but has since change it to mezzo-soprano on account of people arguing that her lower vocals sounded forced/strained live, that her mid range sounded best, etc. I personally think her upper sounds best. Well, it's my favorite I guess.

But I really do think Lana is a great singer. And just to be able to reach the lower notes that she does is amazing, I still like the sound of her lower chest register myself. It's one thing that makes or breaks her with people I find. My friends make fun her her low vocals, but its what drew me to her in the first place. Just as she had hoped for in her audience.

I searched, and did not find any topics on Lana's vocal range and style, so I thought I would start one being that I am a bit of a vocal range fetishist. (Which is hilarious because I know fuck all about music theory and can barely recognize notes by ear)
    Anywhoo!

This is Lana's vocal profile on DivaDevotee. What do you think?

    Lana Del Rey

    Vocal Type: Mezzo-Soprano
Vocal Range: 3 Octaves and one note (B2-C6)
    Whistle Register: No
Vocal Pluses: An emotive and expressive voice that uses Lana Del Rey's ability to act more so than her ability to hit notes to convey emotion. This is helped by her phrasing and brilliant intonation that maintains that the lyrics are always clear, audible and understandable.

Lana Del Rey's lower range is dark and full with a slight smokiness and is often utilised with a languorous tone and a quiver to the voice. The mid-range- hear Dark Paradise- is of medium weight, and has a sweetness and youthfulness that is not present in the lower extremes of the range. Her upper register is easily accessed and is mostly used in its warm and breathy timbre, contrasting with the lower end of her range. However, Lana Del Rey has demonstrated an ability to solidify the notes in her head voice, to create a more resonant tone- Born to Die.

The voice has a clear and pure tone and an overarching character that makes the voice easily identifiable no mater what part of the range Lana Del Rey is singing in.

Vocal Negatives: Some have called Lana Del Rey's lazy drawl "soulless" and "hollow". Also, her live performances have been criticised for being pitchy and unpolished, resulting in accusations that she is unable to actually sing.

Hearing Lana's earlier work as Lizzy, especially live, I almost wonder if she may be a soprano? I think her voice sounds best while singing ridiculous high notes!

I want her to some how fit final versions of her popular unreleased songs onto albums in the future. Meet Me In The Pale Moonlight, Serial Killer, American Dream/Damn You, Hollywood's Dead, She's Not Me (Ride or Die Bitch), Tired of Singing The Blues and Every Man Gets His Wish are my choices if it ever happens.

Pawn Shop Blues reminds me of Come As You Are by Nirvana.
I don't usually notice track similarities in Born To Die, they just feel cohesive.
This Is What Makes Us Girls is in my top 4 in BTD...easily.
I still want a video for Cola, American and Yayo. Every other Paradise song got a video, it kind of sucked that we won't get videos.
I think Lana should've kept the video for Bel Air on YouTube.
Lana should actually make Ultraviolence a double album. 8 songs on each disk.
The live version of Body Electric is truly superior, I think the track could've been at least 1-2 minutes longer.
I think Tropico should've been Cola, Body Electric and Gods & Monsters. Bel Air didn't sound right in that trio.
Bel Air is probably the most beautiful track on Paradise, Born To Die, Dark Paradise and National Anthem fight for that spot on BTD.

WTF this is so fucking awkward

maybe we will get some REAL information about their realtionship/affair (or Lana stalking him) now ???

this also could be a hint that he is actually the Radio guy.
Lana once said that she doesn't care WHY people like her, all that matters to her is THAT they do (poor baby  ).
maybe she is still obsessed with him and now that he is interested in her (because of her fame), she lets him perform before her.
Barrie, keep an eye on your girl !

A couple of nights ago I was really bored.. and I was looking through the death penalty records in CA but there was no one who would fit K at all, and then I checked those inmates who are currently on death row in California.. AND I found a perfect candidate! Name, looks, time of crime, kind of crime, like even the date was on a Monday to Tuesday night (headed out on Sunday, said he'd come home Monday, but he never came back)

To everyone talking  about artists releasing different versions for radio... there's a difference between a radio edit that makes a very long song shorter (eg. Mirrors) and a radio edit that changes the instrumentation and vocal take. Radio edits that are shorter are nothing new, and there are some songs that have slight differences between single and album version (eg. Ellie Goulding and Lights), but Lana basically released an outtake of West Coast that is notably different. Singles are promotional tools for albums, so imagine someone buying UV because they think it's gonna be fun like the radio mix and getting the original... That's my ultimate problem with releasing different versions for radio; it's misleading. Especially if the single version is only available as a single and not as a bonus track on the album...

New version is cute and fun, but the original is definitely much more impressive in terms of mood and just moving on from BTD. This sounds like a BTD outtake (Lolita? Early DP?).

    Lana Del Rey: Musings
    By: Francoise-Marie Santucci

There was that mouth that made so much about this ethereal voice, that too rapid success. Two years ago, the release of her first album, which has not made fun of Lana Del Rey? Her name and physical evoked too David Lynch, too Mulholland Drive, to make it really nice. Where does it come from? Was it really true?

Months have passed, mockery too. Her songs remained. While preparing to release her second album Ultraviolence, we went to meet her in Los Angeles. In her new songs we could listen exclusively with it, there is a slightly dark strength and fragility more rock. Over one day in a house cinema on the hills of LA, she posed for us and answered our questions as a Hollywood star would. With so shy that ambition.
At the other end of the spectrum, geographical and cultural stands volcanic Joumana Haddad, a Lebanese journalist and essayist. The Cannes Film Festival approaching, she recalls the fantastic permissiveness Arab films of the 70s and 80s, when the actresses and actors of Beirut or Cairene émoustillaient girls in the Middle East. To get where? At worst rigor than ever in 2014, she says with a beautiful nervousness, but not without humor.

Elsewhere in this issue, the writer Simon Liberati narrates his Tokyo's wanderings in the company of actress and filmmaker Eva Ionesco. There is also talk of cinema. And fierce grace, mysterious, which is deposited in some women. As Lana, Joumana, or Eva.
